  1. Totally agree...still a work in progress, but weaker teams and ones without the winning mentality would lose those games...if you look at it...especially this year most games won by teams this year are of the close variety..look at Edm...Calgary wins...save for a few abberations this year with blow-outs games are pretty much in doubt right through to the final last half of the 4th
  2. Found a tasty morsel for you to try and digest...make sure that your facts are correct prior to boasting Saskatchewan Average Attendance: 1970 16,743 1980 24,582 1990 26,318 2000 24,715 2010 30,1481971 17,203 1981 27,828 1991 22,597 2001 22,097 2011 29,9401972 17,875 1982 28,103 1992 21,704 2002 24,226 2012 32,3511973 20,176 1983 26,174 1993 23,851 2003 29,352 2013 37,5031974 19,028 1984 24,661 1994 24,455 2004 24,783 2014 30,0711975 19,979 1985 23,117 1995 28,500 2005 25,454 2015 31,5171976 21,665 1986 19,166 1996 22,376 2006 25,293 1977 21,160 1987 24,033 1997 27,038 2007 28,054 1978 20,337 1988 25,450 1998 24,141 2008 29,996 1979 21,186 1989 24,176 1999 19,327 2009 30,606 Winnipeg Average Attendance:1970 17,183 1980 25,040 1990 26,704 2000 25,461 2010 26,0741971 21,383 1981 27,300 1991 27,757 2001 28,144 2011 29,5561972 24,664 1982 28,596 1992 26,083 2002 27,560 2012 27,9811973 23,870 1983 24,614 1993 25,101 2003 27,225 2013 30,6401974 22,494 1984 28,321 1994 23,606 2004 24,496 2014 28,3141975 24,006 1985 28,739 1995 22,888 2005 24,317 2015 26,7461976 23,221 1986 26,873 1996 25,799 2006 26,988 1977 24,699 1987 26,841 1997 21,483 2007 27,701 1978 26,914 1988 24,858 1998 22,683 2008 27,191 1979 24,487 1989 24,160 1999 21,807 2009 25,720I.m thinking your logic is flawed and wrong..History shows that Sask doesn't always outdraw everyone....historically don't even outdraw Winnipeg....until just this last decade and part of that average is flawed due to the one year hosting a grey cup and they had huge numbers just to secure grey cup seats. In the 80's decade we averaged 26534 to Sask 24 729...stats show we drew moreIn the 90's decade we averaged 24 391 to Sask 24 030...stats show we drew moreIn the 2000's decade we averaged 26 480 to Sask 26 457..stats show we drew moreIn the 2010 and up to 2014 we averaged 28 218 to Sask 31 921 (not a true average for reason stated above)
  3. Hmmm...save the team telethons multiple times, selling bogus Rider Stocks to have team equity to stay afloat seems to say different. YOu don't league the league in average attendance...go re-check that, and a similar thread where I compared the average of just Winnipeg and sask over the course of 3 decades and Sask only beat Winnipeg recently, mainly due to the circus that went on here. And you can't say on the road either...but like other poster has said...people get the heck out of town as fast as they can from sask so yeah...they will have some fans in other cities...and kudos to them for that...
  4. Yeah...I did hear that the League was considering calling it the SFL and renaming the cup the Silver Silo , but thought better of it because it when confuse them and they would wander around aimlessly in Sask thinking that the CFL was gone
  5. pfft..yeah Sask is the life blood...get over yourselves...your losing continues and you'll have many empty seats....you have proven that time and time again over the years...and pretty sad too when the Riders are the only ticket in town and nothing else to put entertainment $$ into
  6. Yeah, kind of a dud game by Bombers, but we won..sign of a good team. Lapo kind of confuses me tho...needs to stick with whats working and there was a stretch in 3rd and 4th quarter where we went totally away from Flanders and Harris on the field together, and with our O-line and backs we should be pounding it once at the 10 and closer instead of trying the passes.. But 7-2 with some warts along the way is pretty darn good...if we have a losing record going forward which I doubt and have a 3-6 record we still end up with a 10-7 season...I truly thin k tho that 13-5 is a probability and wouldn't think 14-4 is out of the question
  7. Yeah I hope that was just a one off with Poop sitting. I think swapping him with Lankford for a game or two would be better option. Flanders, Thorpe and fogg can give us the same thing he is on teams. His returns seem tentative last 4 or 5 games..doesn't hit it like he should..not sure if the fumble got in his head or he really got popped on a return but he doesn't seem to want to hit the holes or burst upfield like a dangerous returner should
  8. that was just a speculation....not confirmed...I think it will be Santos-Knox
  9. If there is a statement game to be made this year...I believe this has to be it....We roll in...dominate with a convincing win...and Bombers definitely have to be in the consideration for top 1 or 2 teams in the league...a win show's we are at that level and finally have reached where we need to be save for play-off success, and I believe that will come as well. Lose....and it show's we are close, but still a work in progress as season continues
  10. I don't think so really, as Oshea says and I agree, Jones could easily step in and start at either wide side corner or safety, and I'm sure a rotation of Westerman, Corney, Thomas on the d-line would keep us just as we are and producing just fine. As it stands now at times we have 4, sometimes 5 nationals in on plays in defense anyway, so basically we would just switch who technically is the actual starter on the game day depth chart, but in actuality just continue to rotate and roll our guys as usual.
  11. YEAH thats some pretty poor Canadian depth...we gotta be so grateful now how Walters has constructed the Bombers...never much of a worry as of late in regards to ratio and depth and being hand-cuffed with who we can start
  12. yeah they have a whack on the 6 game and 1 game now...they are razor thin at moment. If we come in and play they way we have...and should...we shouldn't have much of a problem...but you never know tho. This team tho...seems to be built very well, very tight and they won't let each other become complacent or over confident..I can't see any games this year where we lay an egg again because we are too into our presss clippings...they seem on a mission
  13. yeah he has taken snaps in games...minimal but has been in. Actually was in the goal line stand vs Calgary where we stuffed them 4 straight times....the next play where they scored he was subbed out..
  14. I just think Hamilton dropped the ball building THF....very low end looking and does nothing for creating a real professional look and feel...on the field or in the stands. Seen and been in JUCO and high school stadiums that seemed and looked nicer and more "pro" looking
  15. I could see a prorated deal for rest of year..play it out...look around in off-season and if nothing pans out then yup..sign a 2 year deal for top coin We realistically have pro-rate available money available this year for such a case with already budgeted money that will be saved with Oko..Johnson...and Dressler (if he stays on the 6) being six gamed this year. I would think too that Johnson's whole salary will, can, or has been available now too since he didn't play a down, but was factored into the SMS and to this point we havn't airlifted anybody of any significance that would garner more than league minimum you would think thats probably close to 100 to 120 k for the 6 game savings, and possibly more if balance of Johnson's salary is technically just sitting there. I'm thinking we are sitting pretty good in terms of available money for NFL cuts this year, and bet that we had also set aside some $$ prior to that for the possible return of a Gray/Mulumba or other guy looking to come back
  16. He's come in for short yardage, also in some max protect as a TE He also filled in last year in game situations when injuries happened and didn't look outmatched at all. Also has gained probably 15 pounds since we drafted him and has looked good in practice this year, and through camp. Really nice solid Canadian depth with minimal drop-off if pressed into game action if need be
  17. Yeah Rutley gives Durant a better check down option and is more versatile as a receiving threat for coming out of the back filed...tho Durant seems to have trouble making that short pass to a runningback for some reason
  18. I think Bryant wins that toss up...he's more versatile and I bet grades out better. I would even think Hardrick grades better on a consistent basis than FIG....I think he is a bit over rated...not as good as he was when he came onto the scene in Hamilton From where our line came from, to where it is now is nuts...you could probably plop Foketti, Neufeld and Couture on any line in the league as a starter somewhere...on some teams 2 if not all 3 could probably replace a starter and the line would be as good or better
  19. Totally agree on the team picks.. CFL wise I think Bryant could be in that consideration as well...At least in the WEST as nobody on a western team has really stood out.
  20. If Harris keeps up his pace, or even slips a bit moving forward he has to be the sure bet MOC this year, Can't really see who else is having the impact on a game and team moreso than him this year, regardless of nationality. Could also be in consideration for MOP too truthfully, but I would like to see Nichols get that nod on the Bombers if he continues to do what he has been doing. I've never been a fan of a guy on a team getting multiple nominations, unless it REALLY warrants it....generally that means the team kinda sucked and there was nobody really to pick, and that the team wasn't actually a solid complete team. As it looks we have a good, deep, solid team throughout and wouldn't be surprised if we have the most western all-star selections this year
  21. YEAH could see us realistically having 2 O-lineman as CFL all-stars...
  22. really how would they know unless they seen him popping pills..and even then could have been anything...seen lots of times guys popping 3 or 4 sudafeds before a game..at halftime..total over the counter meds but actually help as a performance boost
  23. Probably didn't want to have to face the music as to why he was taking it if not recovering from surgery or something. Also it is a controlled substance too, so having it without a prescription is against the law
  24. ACTUALLY I have been told by team surgeon that mouth/tooth pain is the most extreme and the hardest to alleviate.
  25. yeah it certainly is...hence why not given as much now. I don't see it as a performance enhancer tho...probably would be more of a decreased performance truthfully
