and thats why I'd slice Thomas off the roster....give his money and few extra bucks to Kongbo...especially with Biggie off the books....and if we wise keep hi there the full 6 and see if new blood develops....it's not like he cant come back after that if need be and maybe 12 games is the elixar tha would make him a B+ to A linebacker for the season

agree....just sucks because of them...we didnt win 4 in a row....I put part of that blame on the players too as some didnt show up when it counts....but also wonder if some of that was due to not totally preparing them and psyching them up, as we let the room control the room and the staff was too comfortable in the fact that they didnt think they had to go above and beyond to prepare....you always still gotta shake the tree and peel some paint...regardless how vet the squad is...or what the cukture is

I think he is struggling with that extra guy on the field, and it's throwing his ability to make any reads off...in a quick fashion....totally obvious from his picks

Lawson/FOX...Habba/WJ....Garbutt/Woods/Scmeck...I sure that doable now with Ford in the mix, and not wasting a DI on a fullback....and we have used Cole as well off the edge at times, and if we keep/roster Moses I could see him being a great guy to playb like a Jack and come from anywhere....From knowing what we have coming back...and seeing some the new blood perform and practice.....to me that initial crew could really be an agressive and dominant front...dare to dream?....or will it happen?

I don't ignore our success...don't get me wrong...winning is always nice....fun....but the end goal is a championship...bar none and any season not securing that is failure....and losing some for totally avoidable reasons is not acceptable and accountability needs to be addressed....call me old schoiol but the 90's isn't evennthat old school to be honest. I do not know one player who has ever been satisfied not winning th championship...nor know any who just "wanted to get to playoffs" hence my criticism and calling things out...just how I wired

we need that rotation 100%...and if he is/can progress against true starters I am all for it...I would rather have him than Thomas or Bennett....But if his roster position is at the expense of Kelly...which is was a lot last yr...then I not behind that...Kelly offers way more...has way more upside/use and was last yr, and will be this yr one of our top ST guys...Pretty sure he tries hard in practice too...one the accolades of Schmeck and his reason for rostering last yr QFT

yeah....firsthalf the game he jumped out to me as well...was he at corner...or HB?....I like his physicality a lot more than MgHee....who didnt impress considering all the yip yap about him in press, and being a hold over....Hopefully it's not a case of before...job by tenure and a few flash plays to keep him on...ala Houston....Best players should play regardless of time spent here.....in my day...thats how it went...and can't count how many teamates I said goodbye to on the fly mid-yr from new blood brought in and they were just flat out better....if you not continually turning over talent and seeking better...as opposed to staying complacent, and standing pat....well you can see what haoppens...History will show you everytime...and our last 2 yrs has showed it, and if not nipped in the bud....

Schmeckle was decent against Rider scruns....some plays came to him as opposed to him seeking it out....but to his credit he hustled all game....and wasnt ueless like last yr In all honesty tho if we are to dress 2 canadian D-Tackles it has to be Lawson as the starter....and at this point Schmeckle as his backup....Thomas has zero use now...is effective in a very limited role...and is now limited in what he can do....has zero upside now and is just blocking the development of the guy behind Lawson...One could say he has blocked Lawson for 2 yrs already...he's a waste of SMS now and roster space.....and we have enough vet leaders on the team, so that excuse to keep him as well is full of holes....Kornelson has no future as a pro in my opinion, and should be among first cuts... techinically tho.....we don't even need to carry an interior dline guys if we dont want to...if we start 1 national on defence we have more than enough coverage elsewhere to accomodate...and hey...we can also use a DNA as well for 29 snaps...theres a thought

and rip right past Mace and his "new lool" Riders....which looked the same as they have been quick look over things so far...we will be better at QB2....RB....I believe O-line and D-line (only if we actually roster the new blood in a few spots) and reciever with Lawler here right out of the gate. If Cole is at SAM and we can roster Moses and Gemmel....I'd say linebacker could have potential to be much better too...we have the pieces to be much improved, younger....hungrier....we just have to pull the trigger on it in a few spots

they could be yeah...or they could be a role guy too....fact of the matter use of it is only gonna benefit your overall roster...any discussion that it wouldnt....is just nit picking and arguing for the sake of just that...arguing... some people can read....and decipher....kudos bro....

Poor assesment and scouting, and not digging in and looking at...everything...I re-watched a bit more this aft...He looked totally like a guy who been in league already...was actually shocked, as figured he's need a good season to acclimate...maybe not...he's massive, and not in a sloppy way, and moves well which aids in his aggressive play....we stole the best Oline guy in draft yup....doesnt pay to read clippings and assesments not of yhour own....also he could have had poor coaching and never been mandated to work on technique.....but he definately looked game ready as a very good 6th at the least...and a jumbo package mauler....Imagine Eli..Dobson and Neuf on short yardgae with Wally squeezoing Bryant inside and collapsing the edge?....god lord

Point to the rule is yhou can use an American, as opposed to a less talented backup Canadian player, and replace that said American Ratio wise with another American elsewhere...so yeah makes a hell of a lot of sense with even more benefits

agree....thing with Garbutt....he made plays yup...but watch his technique...his burst...first move....very well coached/trained edge guy....perfecr body type to compliment WJ on other side too Baffles the mind why neither were slotted in mid -season last yr....a case of Walker...all be it decent, and adequate...was here first...so as you could see in camp was the defacto starter regardless of who jumped out, as he was outplayed by others, but tenure secured his spot....DE...well we rolled with a useless draft pick and the desire to play a coache's fav at FB....imagine where both would be at..Habba too with a dozen or so games under their belt and some play-off experience....

that guys have not been given a job right out of the gate from day one from impressive play like you were hinting at...Unless I misread what you were saying...the couple that did qere due to circumstance and somebody new had to fill the role, and the factNichols was just amazing and why would you not start him from day one we didnt bring him back eventually all coaches get canned due toi them, and teams not responding to them...Dave Ritchie was best coach all around I have seen and had pleasure to be around...and eventually he too got canned from a particular flaw...tho the last time in Winnipeg that flaw wasn't entirely necessary at the time...but may have been headed that way....when it's time...it's time

I bet one or both could even be cut before next game to be honest Dobson has progressed bigtime....and Wallace definately didnt look out of place....with Eli..Dobson and Wallace we are well set up for yrs in the middle of the oline....

going against our coverage teams tho.....i wouldn't put much stock in that.....If I was to bet who it is....I would say Smith as he a legit swiff army knife ala McRae...only 5x better

Nichols was an obvious no brainer...and we had no HB coming back.......Holm was a second yr guy last yr.....Parker got stone walled and buried for well over month when he could have played...seen it first hand and asked him....Streveler....had to start as we had nobody....and sadly if Nichols hadnt got hurt...And Durant showed up....we would prob not even have a Strev story....Lawler as well....came in mid season off the PR...he earned it...wasnt a gift, and really?...the best WR in the league?...if the staff would have continued to park him they all should have been fired. Schoen was in an open tryout for 1 spot and won....we needed a guy and had no incumbant...so that also is a moot point.

valid points...if applicable/true....but I not buying that...if guys aren't putting in the work in all facets...then they should be gone....and why they here...that can point directly back at the coach actually....and with culture.....it's good to a point until culture impedes talent....and when that creeps in...and the complacency having too much comfort knowing you are saying and doing all the right things and you are secure in your spot....it tends to stagnate things. Same with his quotes of "he practiced real hard" we like that so we put him in....well who's not...and if they not...why waste a roster spot on them?.... I made it a point laat year to go to practice for about 3 straight weeks....to see what was going on...talk to some people...get a feel....and there were guys significantly better...putting in the work....even after team ran mandatory drills...and they had no hope in hell of being used, as they were either 1) less than a yr here 2) not a favorite of a particular natuonality 3) not a teachers pet 4) victim of stubborn bias' Many people have commented on many a coach before of American decent and training favoring Americans and not putting enough of the same dedication/appreciation into their Canadian players...well we have the oposite here of that....and examples of it are clear and easy to see with not utilizing the certain rules that would be beneficial...starting extra Canadians for no other reason other than they are Canadian and Osh is we all know a proud Canadian...so thats his soap box to show it...I would be more intune with it if we in turn rostered guys who we could freely rotate in (Imports) and take advantage of that....but we don't even do that....so again....theres no point to it, and it hamstrings your roster and depth, as it doesn't allow you to have guys get in games, and get reps behind thier merican starters, so when in times of injury you actually have a player in the wings...aka a contingency plan for a rash of injuries....and we have been boned soooo bad the last few yrs due to that you would think a light bulb would switch on...This yr will be interesting to see what plays out. Do I know it all...better than anyone...no....have I been coached and coached with really good coaches....and in camps in the CFL...NCAA and NFL....yes....so have seen many a way to run/coach/manage a team and for all the good I see here and love....there are several things that would have made us a team talked about for generations....
