  1. so he was about an 84k hit to the SMS last yr then...Prukopp prob in the same range...give or take a nickle
  2. What was Browns price tag here last yr...was it ever disclosed, or just assumptions...same with Prukop?
  3. He's not being considered for a starters spot at all....just solid depth and a contributor on teams...thats it
  4. Depends who starts in Ham....BLM is under now too correct?....obviously Powell is too....and whomever else they sign
  5. it was....interesting enough the guys will call Kyrie Wilson that too...
  6. JO is a above average ST guy....doesn't get credit he due Also is a fine in game injury replacement to back up an Import, or BO .... Now does this indicate we are gonna let BO test the market and see what his best offer is, and perhaps match...or come close....me gut says yup.... I'd in all honesty tho stop the Canadian bell cow back and use an import there...over half the SMS hit.....get same production if they recruit the right back, and use the same way and also a very likely chance that we field a guy with home run hitting speed....something we have lacked at RB going on 8 yrs now
  7. Did Harty re-sign?...thought he was testing Free agency
  8. true......and agree....Ottawa was prob the worst place to go...next to SASK....and not just the Rider hate....but poor oline....nothing in the cupboard...and a 4.....5 yr track record now of a G.M not being able to solve it....for a young QB trying to make his mark.....u need a top tier O-line....not bottom rung
  9. Harris tho hasnt won jack....nor led anyone to the promised land...
  10. How do you know he's gonna be the starter tho?...Crum is coming back ...same system...2nd yr in it, and if the coaching there gets better....he may outright win the starter spot And as It is now the QB on that roster with the most upside in my opinion is that Admas...so curious to see how he looks when he is healed up and totally this...they paying lil more in advance now, thinking he will be the next big thing...He could just become another in the long line of Jennings..Franklins...Arbuckles...I'd even throw Maier into that right now too....Wish him well, but he wanted to get paid...as well as have the chance to start....but if he was so sure of it too....Why not come to camp here as well on a one yr deal, with incentives and a clause if he beats out ZC outright...he will be compensated.....Everyone wants to start no doubt...this was more about getting paid decently now, as opposed to being payed fair now for the opportunity to be paid large later here
  11. I figued about 250k Yr one...with some playtime extra's as a possibility.....So good on him....he's put in the time and work, now lets see if it can be realized in a whole new situation....I think may be a shaky first yr tho....guess we will see
  12. basically...holding his hand and training him...he sucked badly in the role by himself
  13. Beggleton too was under 180k....and with a competent QB and scheme dude would light **** up....link for what its worth https://3downnation.com/2023/04/19/the-cfls-20-highest-paid-receivers-for-the-2023-season/
  14. unless inside the walls hard to determine what and why For speculation sakes, say we dispose of Augustine, Miller, Briggs, Thomas, Kolo,Gauthier, Castillo and Benson...rough avg salary of around 115 for those guys saves you 920k.....slice away 600k for 8 entry level deals, and really with the exception of maybe Castillo all can be entry level, or a role guy in FA on his second deal, which will still be cheap...That fee's you up roughly 300...320k after the fact....which can go a long way in re-upping a few key guys, or bringing someone in Rough clacs and all before some u all go jumping down my throat, but thats a way to free up some salary, and shed some older declioning dead weight....and a draft this yr, looking at talent and upside, and not just the way we have been doing it with ST only guys is paramount We could rally boost the roster too if we walk away from a possible 180k+ salary with BO, as we could garner another 100k there filling his role with a first yr import. I am not turning on BO by any stretch but you have to look where bang for buck makes you stronger, and if his asks gets to be too much...It aint worth it anymore
  15. yes...was concurring with you....if we use our DA's properly we can be very deep...Maybe this Global Kicker we signed bumps Castillo out of the picture....and we can use his spot..Jacksons and the 2 others for guys who will enhance the roster...not just fill it.....I have no issues with Castillo at all.....but if you know who chooses to waste a DA spot again all yr, and we use another with the Kicker, then we are really hamstringing our depth
  16. I think Garbut is the better prospect for end.....so having both he and Haba is a nice luxury going into camp
  17. we dont need BO for ratio reasons at all.....and if we can get 2 legit talents starting as imports, in lieu of his salary, one of which being his replacement, and keeps your team deep you do it everyday all day yup...this right here
  18. i was talking in regards to defensive help, and as well above and beyond that...we dumped those salaries we could have brought in a defensive thug for in the middle...
  19. Thats why last yr already after the Grey Cup fail of 2022 that players like Thomas...Briggs...even Augustine to name a few should have been let go, and at least 1 free-agent of substance could have been brought in, along with some actual prospects, as opposed to waiting now until the 11th hour. Also leads to our draft strategy of special teamers only....guys with none to minimal upside to contribute on the actual offence/defence....A legit Full back/large running back type ...for one would have went a long way to allowing one of Fox/Hba/Garbutt to be on the roster all yr developing so that for 2024...they are legit first team candidates We allocated some salaries, and bodies to the roster that served minimal purpose, or the purpose they served wasn't worth the price they ate up.....now was that on the HC....or the GM?....
  20. yeah that trade isnt binding in anyway...Just gives exclusive first dibs on negotiating.....He can walk away elsewhere and thats that......but also if he signs a deal, I can see something else going back to us, as a lot of times thats how these situations are negotiated and pan out
  21. These new guaranteed contracts and guys leaning toward multi yr deals definitely plays in a teams favor...ours especially and can totally see a back loaded deal...especially with post 2025 a lot of big money coming off the books...likely a lot for 2025...I'm not too concerned about losing Schoen and to be honest, I think we can be a an over all stronger team letting BO walk if his ask is too much
  22. we failed in last2 cups as we were weak up the gut...and it compounds other aspects of the defence to compensate, and forced us to wear out our ends. Regular season wins..stats...whatever are fine and dandy but when yu have an exposed under belly...the real predators will rip it open when it counts....as per last 2 cups BC had zero run game and it didn't cause issues...also The Vaj wasn't healthy to add any extra stress to that weakness....so just containing him and making him become a true QB was a sound game plan
  23. yeah they were literally handed early success on a platter....now they have to actually work for it...and its a tough nut to crack Though I dont have the age and the knowledge of Bomber history as you do, and don't always agree with your takes, I still accept them and respect them without the bashing... and think about them in a different perceptive....I get the same critique as you here, by some...probably worse.... is what it is and much like aresholes, we all have an opinion...I wasn't gonna post much anymore...still am keeping a lot internally or shard with a few select posters, but will not change my way of how I post for anyone, so if it ruffles some posters feathers, u can always block me.... I don't act my age....lol I can see Kongbo back in the fold on a fair deal...See ya later Tony Bennett/Thomas to make room....he's tried to replicate success and having fun elsewhere...and it hasnt panned out...he knows where the bread is buttered, and has other condiments to go with it I think you can almost guarantee him back here...........
  24. I also think it's one or the other ultimately, and smart money and who is more valuable and roster flex and replacement ease leans heavily into Schoen's camp.....if BO tho wants to accept fair compensation, and sign a 3 yr deal at 145/165/195 with a guarantee in yr 3 then that makes sense and doesn't upset the apple cart for this yr....He is really easily replaced on the cheap, and I think his bargaining power isn't as strong as he thinks it is
  25. most times....a good majority here dont....is what it is....and you can take my comments/opinions/insight for whatit is and believe it...or dispute it....doesn't ruin my day, and it brings good amusement to myself and other posters which is not shared online I don't profess to know it all, or have all the answers with no room for discussion....But I have and had skin in the game...close contact and relations with many still in it...both sides of the border as well as work with recruitment and training and placing guys in Europe...into development camps and with tryouts with pro teams, and when I make these "blanket" statements you allude to, you and the other ditractors have no clue what you are even disputing, or the validity of it, and frankly to be blunt...yes have no clue what you are talking about....I guess that if in your eyes and eyes of some others that makes me "think" I'm better and the King Dong of **** Island than so be it....IYKYK
