  1. Not arguably, ....definitely. The NFL has a rule against hitting prone people. The CFL has no such rule. By the letter of the rule that Loffler was flagged for, he did not commit the infraction.
  2. I weep for our sport. When did playing and watching football start requiring panties. This PC nonsense has to stop. It's a violent collision sport. Plain and simple. If you don't like it you shouldn't be watching or playing it instead of trying to turn it into some mamby pamby sport. I have been around football for a long time, and I am willing to make a pretty strong educated guess that every football player who saw that hit on the replays, even Arcenaux's team mates subconsciously, went "Whhooooaaaa.....NICE HIT!!"
  3. What really hurts is that we were the first team to work Franklin out and we declined to offer him a contract afterwards. Edmonton was his third kick at the cat in the CFL.
  4. People are still talking about him as a FA, because there is a large contingent of Rider fans who seem to think he is the saviour of their crap hole team. One blowhard mororn who claims to have "connections" (but has been wrong about virtually everything the last year or so) is stating these mythical sources have told him Franklin is scheduled to be a FA.
  5. And O'Shea. Kudos to Dickenson but it isn't tough to take a 14 win club and turn them into a 15 win club.
  6. I see no facts other than some carefully and cherry picked stats. If your argument that Lapo and Bellfools systems are the same because they share some common philosophies then you may as well say every OC in this league runs the same system. However, a quick look beyond that will show that Lapo and MB run drastically different playbooks and schemes within their philosophies. Right from how the QB goes through progressions, route tree options and routes for receivers and the utilization of progressions, how they attack the field, to the depth of the pocket, timing of plays and variance in pass protection are literally night and day different.
  7. It shouldn't be long before Rider Stronson starts up with his fake sources suggesting that there was a conspiracy against Roosevelt. That guy is a serious boot licker wannabe. Makes up garbage and then uses his title of moderator to intimidate or eliminate anyone that dares challenge his accuracy. So sad that CRF doesn't see this yet.
  8. Seriously though, watch Riderfans in about an hour when they finally do the Rider math and figure out Roosevelt wasn't selected. It will be a meltdown. They are just a little slower on the uptake so it takes a little while.
  9. How can the Riders not have one rep on the All Star team? I have heard that they have the most explosive receiving corps in the league, to go along with the league's best QB, LBing corps and a secondary that is playing at an all star level since Labor Day? Obviously this is JO's fault.
  10. Just when I thought you might be making a case for your argument, you go and say something like that and totally discredit it. There is very little that is similar between Lapo's and Bellfool's approach to the passing game. Polar opposites really.
  11. Why not? We are a ball hawking defence and Jennings is a turnover machine. I like our chances.
  12. Lapo the problem? Sheesh....that's some kinda crazy. Does no one remember how pedestrian Nichols looked last year and how hopelessly awful our offence was the last 2-3 years? Our offence is infinitely better this year. It still has a way to go, but quite frankly that's more a personnel issue than a coaching issue.
  13. So far I am unimpressed by the quality of play in the CFL playoffs this year. There...I was the first to say it.
  14. You can have only one front runner, but you can have multiple front runners. If two guys are neck and neck and running way out in front of the pack, they are frontrunners.
  15. Me neither. Franklin, or a vet like Ray or Burris to sit behind Nichols would make me feel better.
  16. As someone who has lashed out at you a time or two, I agree completely that despite harsh words that are contrary to your opinion that you don't ban people for it. One of the most respected CFL forum members has flipped his noodle and shredded his credibility this year and he knows it and is taking it out on everyone. I wish CRF really knew the effect this is having on his forums reputation even amongst a great number of his own members. I know Mike can personally attest to getting PMs from several Rider fans for taking him to task...as did I when I did the same. Gov needs to realize how many of his own people would jump ship to a new Rider forum because of how they were treated there this year. At some point and time a group of them may just do the unthinkable and start their own forum and he may be surprised how many get up and leave his.
  17. Yeah. Agreed. It's what SOME of them want that's for sure. Won't be long before they begin eating their own. Some serious agendas at play over there right now. It's too bad because the vast majority just want to talk football.
  18. The problem at Riderfans in the past year hasn't been the members at large, it has been a couple of moderators with agendas because their credibility was crushed to dust because of their Chris Jones love-in and the inaccuracies they were flogging as truth. (Re: Mike serving it up on Rider Stronson)
  19. Hey LG....good to see you at a forum where the moderators haven't lost their collective minds in order to stifle all non comforming conversation.
  20. If Sinopoli was open behind the SAM, Burris would have taken that all day long until we stopped it. Behind the LBer corps is not an outlet option. That's football 101. There is no way that Burris had that option but chose not to take it. I'm sure this is what Burris said to you, but it was a big fat lie.
  21. If Sinopoli was open every play he would have had a career day and so would Hank. Suggesting that he could have set some offensive records but chose not to is just ridiculous, and I can't believe you believed that pile of manure. Especially when he's trying to make a statement for continued employment next year.
  22. He didn't take molly he took Sally. Small difference...I know. However it was MDA not MDMA. There is a drug called ortho MDA that is an extremely expensive and not readily available PED. It would be stupid to think he was taking that over the buy at any nightclub Sally. I agree that it's intent is recreational, however it's core ingredient is amphetamines. That is going to be banned by every drug policy on the planet....for good reason. It is extremely medically dangerous for athletes to be popping amphetamines.
  23. I have never seen a team embarrass itself as thoroughly as the Riders are right now. Even during the Mike Kelly fiasco, it never got this bad for the Bombers. Just a complete dumpster fire. What player in their right mind will go there or stay there to go down with that ship. The Riders are screwed until they can show the circus has left town. Unfortunately for them, the king of clowns (Jones) is not going anywhere soon. Just a completely moronic angle he is trying to peddle to players, and RiderNation in general. He's got his squawk box fully firing grenades at the league. Just beyond classless. Epic fail by Jones both on the field and off the field this year. Implosion....KABOOM!! He is clearly the wrong man for the job in Regina.
  24. If you think the improvement of the OL was psychological and suddenly Lapo's play calling became better you are out to lunch. It had to do with bringing in a stud of an OL in Travis Bond, kicking Hardrick out to RT instead of OG where he struggled immensely but at RT he gave Chungh a crap load more support than Neufeld. I could buy into your theory that the OL believed in Nichols more, if the difference in run blocking weren't so spectacularly different. They have always believed in Harris. Improvement came through personnel change.
