I felt like part of that was the way Hurl was used... he seemed to be in cover a lot of plays rather than spying the QB - if that makes sense. Just remember seeing him chasing guys off to the sidelines without really looking at the QB.

I'll wait to annoint Hurl as Oshea 2.0 once he faces BLM and Messam. This is still a defence that let Glenn rack up 370 yards and one that couldn't stop Sask from tying the game. Still just don't like the way Hall uses his MLB - I think its outdated... but that's just me.

If Jets can re-sign a healthy Toby at $2.5-3.5 for two years that might not be bad... D-core is going to be expensive in 2018... Trouba - $8m Buff - $7.6m Morrissey - $2.8 bridge or $4.5 Kulikov - $4.3 Myers - 5.5 Poolman - $2m

Myers and Enstrom could be gone or at lower salary by the time Ehlers, etc have to re-sign... Going to get tricky... Trouba will want $8m, if Laine stays healthy and hits 50 goals - he will too

The good things about Mason that I see... is that he's a right hand glove - so thats a different way for teams to prep for each of our goalies. And if one of them is getting shelled, the backup will change the game Mason also had a huge rookie year and then collapsed - so he could be a very good mentor for Helle in terms of how to handle a starting role, a drop in his game, etc etc

Yes, my preference would have been Darling or Raanta. Possibly Nilsson. Darling at $4m for 4 years would not equal giving up on Helle... Raanta signed for one year at $1 million - no one says you have to re-sign him Anyway, my concern is that both Mason and Elliott are not big play goalies - the wheels can come off these guys pretty quick... Maurice will need to tighten up his D for them (and Helle) to succeed...
