  1. Peter Tessier: Rumours Last night I had a message from some one who knows the Flyers well and said Hextall has an offer for either Buff or Engstrom on the table. The offer was unclear but it did involve Amac as the 'favour' in the deal with other pieces. A second source said they had heard of 'talks' between the club. So take that for what it's worth, wild speculation based on some iffy info. That's not a shot at the sources just a reality check on the evidence presented. I always like getting this info because that's the fun in all of this and let's just remember- it's supposed to be fun.
  2. @Eklund: Jets could pull of a major deal...possibly for a goalie...which is surprising given the prospects they have. just a rumor That's why Eklund is so much fun!
  3. From New York post (a lot of specifics for a completely untrue story) Sin City is getting hockey, two sources close to the situation told The Post. The NHL is arranging the sale of the Arizona Coyotes to billionaire William Foley who will move the team to Las Vegas giving it its first major professional franchise, one source said. “Las Vegas has reached 10,000 season ticket deposits,” enough to justify a franchise, the other source said. Foley said in January that he needed 10,000 ticket deposits to get an NHL team. Foley will move them for the 2016-17 season, the source said. The Post last year was the first to report Foley was backing a Vegas franchise. MGM Resorts and arena operator AEG are building a 20,000 seat hockey-ready arena in Las Vegas that is slated to open in spring 2016. A Coyotes spokesman said, “The Coyotes are committed to playing in Arizona.” When asked for how long, the spokesman reiterated it was committed to playing in Arizona. “Period.” Arizona last year ranked 28th in attendance. Meanwhile, the City Council in Glendale, Ariz., last month voted to terminate its lease agreement that expires in 2028 that has the city paying the team $15 million a year for a share of revenue. The NHL is also eyeing expansion franchises in the Toronto and Seattle areas for the 2017-18 season, a source said. The NHL announced it was accepting applications for expansion franchises from July 6 until Aug. 10. Former Bauer Hockey Chairman Graeme Roustan is the lead person putting together a Toronto-area expansion team bid. The NHL denied the story. Foley and Roustan did not return calls.
  4. Sounds like the denials when people said the thrashers were being sold and moved to winnipeg. NHL flat out denied it was even possible up until they appeared for the presser in winnipeg
  5. Maybe he wasn't mistaken Percocet (and Percodan) are combined with and analgesic (Tylonol/Asprin). Oxicotin is not combined with any nsad. It is therefore, more potent. This explains why it is abused more than Oxycodone. When Oxycotin is chewed the time release effect is nulled and a person gets the immediate doesage of Oxycodone. Oxicotin is usually higher in dosage because of the time release. It is extremely dangerous to chew, snort, or inject the oxycotin pill.
  6. @friesensunmedia: Sources tell Wpg Sun Mike Richards subject of OxyContin investigation. Held at least 4 hrs at Emerson border crossing in Manitoba, June 17. I think he means oxycodone.
  7. Supposedly Chevy said they have some irons in the fire. We shall see
  8. Regarding Richards, it's better than what I was thinking. I would suspect It might be a matter of having a prescription. I too love Percocet...when needed. It's wonderful. And I was going to take some on my last vacation but opted not to for this very reason. Border. I can certainly see athletes having percs even if they buy them outside of legitimate means. Surprised that would result in a contract termination especially as Id assume if he is addicted there wokld be steps taken to help him before firing him.
  9. TMZ NHL officials have been notified that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigation into ex-L.A. Kings player Mike Richards involves the prescription drug oxycodone ... multiple sources tell TMZ Sports. Our sources say Richards was stopped while crossing from United States into Canada earlier this month ... and we're told he was questioned about oxycodone pills, a powerful painkiller. For the record, Richards has NOT been charged with a crime. However, he has since been cut from the team for "a material breach of the requirements of his Standard Player's Contract." We reached out to Richards' agent for comment multiple times but haven't heard back. Canadian officials refused to comment, citing privacy laws. But a rep for the NHL Players Association tells us, "We are in the process of reviewing the facts and circumstances of this matter, and will discuss the situation with the player in order to determine the appropriate course of action."
  10. Alex Kurtzman. But Orci and Kurtzman dissolved their relationship recently. They turn out very shallow paint by number scripts with lousy character development The only thing that shocks me is they supposedly did an uncredited re-write of Watchmen which is one of my favourite movies. I feel dirty now.
  11. Is the return Chicago got better than the draft picks from an offer sheet? Very excited to see Stafford with him saying he wants to prove himself.
  12. @NHL: The @AnaheimDucks have acquired Kevin Bieksa from the @VanCanucks. http://t.co/yzOkfcWB4hhttp://t.co/c9FjqsAjOK
  13. @Real_ESPNLeBrun: Also hearing Brandon Saad to Columbus. wow, didn't see that coming
  14. @FriedgeHNIC: Saad has been traded to CLB. as @reporterchris tweeted, Anisimov and Dano part of return.
  15. I cant see them carrying Slater and Copp...but going with only Copp is a risk for a rookie even if he shows well. I wonder if it comes down to Burmi who is a natural center. Surely Burmi would be appalled to be the 4th line center but he'd be an option there in a pinch. I recall Chevy saying theyd likely carry more contracts than they had in the past. Is it 50 maximum? I think Chevy said they'd be up around 47.
  16. Surprised Stafford wouldnt want more term (or wasnt able to get more term elseware). Good deal for the Jets.
  17. Russ Hobson ✔ @russ_sportsguy #NHLJets announce signing of unrestricted free agent Drew Stafford on 2 year contract worth an average annual value of $4.35 million.
  18. The times I've been, there was easy parking on Pembina with some available lots sitting mostly empty. My go-to lot was corner of Pembina/Markham. Then its a cut through the golf course and you're there. Nice view of IGF coming up behind it too.
  19. Here's the thing, Hodgson played for the Moose for a couple seasons so the Jets would know him well, particularly Zinger and Chipman, If they pass on him, it's for good reason. I think they will pass on him too. I don't see much interest there. Very good point. If hes available cheap he might be worth a reclamation project. But they might see, all things being equal, put Armia or someone there. Also, presumably Burmi signs. If Stafford does too, the Right Side is complete.
  20. Any interest in Cody Hodgson? Center but could possibly play RW on the 3rd line.
  21. Elliotte Friedman ‏@FriedgeHNIC 59m59 minutes ago Hodgson and Stalberg clear. Elliotte Friedman ‏@FriedgeHNIC 50m50 minutes ago Today was the last day to put a player on buyout waivers. 22. Spector's Hockey retweeted Chris Johnston ‏@reporterchris 29m29 minutes ago The Alex Semin buyout is a pretty big one -- $14M paid over six years -- but the #hurricanes aren't a cap team. Spector's Hockey ‏@SpectorsHockey 14m14 minutes ago #Bruins are talking to teams about Savard, but not Rask http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2015/06/30/bruins-are-talking-to-teams-about-savard-but-not-rask/ … via @ProHockeyTalk Spector's Hockey ‏@SpectorsHockey 5m5 minutes ago #NHLPanthers have placed Brad Boyes on waivers for the purpose of a buyout.
  23. Spector's Hockey ‏@SpectorsHockey 9m9 minutes ago Some folks rushing to judgment re: RCMP investigation regarding Mike Richards. If he'd broken the law, folks, he'd be in a cell right now.
  24. Rick Westhead ‏@rwesthead 5h5 hours ago Lots speculated about Mike Richards. But…RCMP in BC, Alberta and Manitoba confirm no charges filed v the NHL player & none pending Rick Westhead ‏@rwesthead 48m48 minutes ago Rick Westhead retweeted Katie Strang .@KatieStrangESPN reports CBSA and RCMP continuing criminal investigation of NHLer Mike Richards. Rick Westhead ‏@rwesthead 2m2 minutes ago RCMP spox in Winnipeg corrects Monday statement. Says she misheard q re: Mike Richards and cannot confirm/deny if he faces pending charges
  25. It could be. I mean that would be the obvious thing. but caught with drugs would be a pretty easy arrest not this mysterious "investigation" and the way the media is talking, the sports media seem to be unwilling to discuss what the investigation pertains to even though so many are claiming to know what it is. That leads to some speculation about some other things one might get caught with at the border that could trigger a wider RCMP investigation.
