Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania

I actually dislike the execution more than the idea. But for them to throw Charlotte under the bus is pretty low. -
Well Whoopie has never let facts get in the way of running her mouth. Like a few of us! . But we're not on tv She jumped the shark when she defended Roman Polanski for raping a child

Hmmmmmm The use of the word ***** in this context is not reserved solely for women. It was certainly disrespectful though.

Just when you think WWE has sunk as low as they can go: WWE will be releasing a statement shortly regarding Monday night's show-closing angle involving Paige and Charlotte (Ashley Fliehr). The gist of the statement will be that the idea of the angle came from Ashley Fliehr, that it was taken out of the show, she was insistent that it be put in, and it was. However, the company did take responsibility for the angle since it was ultimately their decision to put it on the show. The angle involved Paige referencing the death of Charlotte's brother Reid, who passed away from an overdose on March 29, 2013, and saying clearly Reid didn't have a lot of fight in him. The angle has been the most-talked about story in pro-wrestling since it happened, virtually universally negative towards the company. It was done to set up a Divas Title match on Sunday between champion Charlotte and challenger Paige at the Survivor Series PPV. Neither Ric Flair nor Ashley's mother Elizabeth were alerted in advance about the angle. Elizabeth was furious and posted publicly on Twitter. Ric Flair on his Woo Nation podcast noted he was very upset when watching it, and indicated that Ashley didn't have the tenure to say no to any angles or storylines presented to her. Flair's co-host Conrad stated publicly that the rumors it was Ashley's idea were 100% false. -
I would not trade trouba for Hamonic straight up. Younger and cheaper (for now). With more high end upside. Sure he might not make it but it's too valuable give up on.
-
Where's the dis-satisfaction with Trouba coming from? WAAAAAY too much upside to give up on yet. If there are off-ice issues where his character doesnt fit with the Jets, so be it. An added bonus to Hamonic is, he's likely easier to re-sign in a few years since he actually wants to be here as his first choice. He'd be a rock star as a local kid.

Havent heard for sure but saw speculation it would be Lipon.

Right handed D man? Check. How many RHD man do we need? I agree. But thats where the Buff thing factors in. We have a major UFA. if Buff left for nothing, how comfortable are we with Myers and Trouba? In a perfect world, they are both top 4. But Myers, to me, plays the style that we like as a luxury if everything else is firing for us. Trouba should develop into an elite level D. I mean, Myers and Trouba on the right side is good. But someone like Hamonic is the kind of shut down guy you want. So...it depends on Buff really. They've been moving Myers or Trouba to LHD. If that is a permanent solution then: Enstrom-Myers Trouba-Buff ???-Hamonic Is a pretty darn good D corp.

Well this I disagree with. And I disagreed with it vehemently when people trash Obama. The position deserves respect. And disagreeing on politics is not reason enough to disrespect someone as a person. I dont dislike Justin personally. I dont know him personally. I hope he does well. I was very attracted to Stephen Harper (politically...haha), but now he is gone, Im probably just as likely to vote Liberal next time as Conservative (well, maybe 60-40). Was it because of his hair? His beady eyes!

Game 20 : Canucks @ Jets
The Unknown Poster replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Third line was an odd choice for Stafford to begin with. I think the majority of fan predictions had him in the top six before the season. He was probably slotted in because they thought Lowry and Burmi would generate more offense and thus, Stafford fit the line. And it gave Ehlers a chance to play with higher end players. Stafford looked a lot better on Scheif's line. And Ehlers looked just as dangerous no matter where he played or who he played with. -
Word from a Conservative connection here in West Kelowna is that Trudeau has put a strict gag order on his MP's to refrain from talking to the media about the Syrian refugee issue. If this is true (and I don't expect the "We Love Trudeau" media to report it), how is he doing anything differently than the last guy who was Prime Minister? Oh right, it's totally ok when Justin does it. Good LORD! When will this control freak stop! lol Don't let the truth stop a good pile on. PS nice edit to try to spin it as a joke. What part of "LOL" made you think I was serious? lol PS: Geeeeeeeee dont be needlessly obtuse. LOL EDIT: The only thing I added to my statement was "I kid I kid" as when I edited to add the next, essentially unrelated part, I figured someone here would get their liberal panties in a knot. House overwhelmingly approves bill to suspend program that allows Syrian and Iraqi refugees into U.S. Please, you've taken every chance you've gotten to take shots at Trudeau. When you get called on it, you say it was a joke or that it's fair since people did it to Harper. Not true. I was the first person on this forum to make note of my congrats to Trudeau and my hope for his success. I've also called out people and insisted the position of PM is deserving of respect. its hard to see sometimes, especially wearing rose-tinted glasses. Criticism of our elected officials is always fair game. And IF Trudeau put a gag order on his MP's it certainly is fair game. And if it is true, I'd say he's a hypocrite (or at least those that hung it on Harper) but I wouldnt fault him for it. Controlling the message and the team vision is part of the job in my humble opinion. I have no issue with it. Good enough?

I can say I disliked his initial statements but its more splitting hairs about his speaking style which I find to be a bit too put on. I find it a bit uncomfortable seeing him gladhand around during this time but thats politics

If the Oilers land him, I hope they give up a lot because if they dont, Chevy will have to wear the goat horns. Top 4 D? Check Good contract? Check Right age? Check Local boy? Check Wants to play here? Check How often does that happen?

I saw something about Trudeau wanting to house refugees on abandoned military complexes and there was reaction that in Winnipeg that would be an area of town with a large Jewish population and how well would that fly. I believe though, that Kappyong is completely unsuitable for housing (or so I had read on another forum talking about ways to use it), so a moot point. I thought it was a silly argument though... would refugees in a place like Canada really care? And would Jews in the area really care? Im neither and my Jewish buddies wouldnt care so I cant say for sure.

Subway Spokesman's Home Raided
The Unknown Poster replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in General Discussion
CNN Disgraced former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle was sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison Thursday after pleading guilty to charges of child pornography and crossing state lines to pay for sex with minors. The 15-year, 8-month sentence from Federal Judge Tanya Walton Pratt was harsher than the 12-1/2 years requested by Federal prosecutors. He faced a maximum possible sentence of 50 years. Fogle, 38, who had been free on his own recognizance since he was originally arraigned, was sent to jail immediately after the sentencing. Fogle's attorneys argued that the charges were somewhat mitigated by the fact that he had only had sex with teenage girls who were 16 and 17 years old, not young children. They argued that longer sentences should be used for criminals who have sex with much younger children, and asked for a five-year sentence instead. Thursday's hearing in Indianapolis included testimony from two defense witnesses, a forensic psychiatrist and a psychologist, who testified about their examinations of Fogle. Fogle has also agreed to pay a total of $1.4 million in restitution to 14 different victims. On Thursday, the judge also imposed a fine of $175,000. -
Here's a trade suggestions from a fan (for fun): Trouba, Comrie and 2016 2nd rd pick for Hamonic, Strome, 2016 1st rd and 2017 4th rd picks

And actually, just came across this from Peter Tessier: Okay after texting and speaking to a few people I have learned this about the Hamonic scenario as it relates to Winnipeg. The first request for a trade was made in the summer and that request was specifically to Winnipeg. Jets have been in contact with Islanders about this Hamonic's second choice is Alberta but Winnipeg is his preferred destination One source explained that this is likely the reason there is no movement on Buff and Ladd deals- to many moving parts that may not be tied together affecting process. Jets have had the inside track before other teams even knew Snow will not make trade at any cost, trying to be accommodating but has to get right return. Hamonic wants to move but knows he has to give more than one option.
-
I guess until we hear it from Hamonic we dont know. But if he really wants to be as close to St Malo as possible, it seems odd to put Vancouver on his list of approved places...and like someone else said, Minnesota would make more sense than Vancouver. Really, if his one driving concern is being close to St Malo, then he wants to play for the Jets. There was some speculation around that fact, that he wanted a trade to the Jets. That would handcuff Snow severely though so the idea they are saying "western Canada" or "closer to home" gives Snow a little wiggle room.
-
Id suspect that is true since he probably talked to Chevy about this in September. And obviously no trades were made. But if Hamonic has asked to be traded and is getting impatient then Snow might be over-playing his hand. Im quite content with what Chevy got from Buffalo so I am confidence he will make the right trade...if he does make a trade. But if Hamonic wants to be here, unless someone else blows our offers out of the water, he sort of has to get this done.

If recent events dont give the government a moment of pause, then they are being irresponsible.
