  1. I believe MOS’ contract is up....so now what you do what Mack did with a LaPo as HC after he limped into the 2011 Cup. Give him an extension....he starts out poorly and you gun him 5 games in? That is assuming there is even a viable replacement on the staff then.
  2. John Murphy to be named VP Football and a GM today.
  3. The point about 1990 was the level of success...VS the current level of success...
  4. Making the playoffs doesn’t necessarily make you a contender. The playoff format is about economics....if it was about contenders it would be top 2 in each division.
  5. Thank you....you made my point....it isn’t 1990...a Cup win....it hasn’t been remotely close to that either has it?
  6. Well when the blind dog finishes first in their division that certainly tips the scale in teams that make it to the Cup or win the Cup. Making the playoffs when 66% of teams make it is no massive achievement. So I think you need to redo your statistical analysis factoring in the success level of the bottom four teams that have made the playoffs. We can all dream and chase the bone I guess.
  7. “Best” coaches based on what criteria? Longevity? Playoff wins? Certainly not......
  8. Chapdelaine?....you kidding me? He is a major part of their offensive problems. He has been a dude everywhere he has been...been disliked by the players......not a chance Floyd.
  9. I’m not convinced either Claybrookes or Chamblian get whacked at the end of the year. Apart from the fact that O’Shea played and coached STs in a Toronto.....given his “success” in Winnipeg what makes him so appealing to be a great hire for Toronto?
  10. I understand and agree......personally I don’t agree with all the flack Hall gets dumped on him.
  11. Thank you....a great measure of this team’s success is the ability to create turnovers, to score on defence, to provide great field position as a result of turnovers. As well as great Success on special teams and a significant number of points scored on FGs. All these factors have contributed to some measure of so called offensive success. While there is no doubt football is in fact 3 phases....O, D and ST....I would argue that ST and D have contributed significantly. Unfortunately when they haven’t we have witnessed this team’s inability to score points,
  12. Gee I’m sorry.....people constantly blaming him and demanding he be fired are what? Lovers? We have no information as to who decides what players he has to coach? Who saddled him with Hurl? Who made the determination that a National had to play safety and that same National was Hecht. Cal Murphy decided on the players and TOLD the coaches to “coach them up”. Until we know who is making the roster decisions is a precursor to assign blame, responsibility and who is accountable.
  13. Not making a change because you are afraid of making a poor decision is a hallmark executive failure in business and sports. Hoping things are going to improve is NOT a plan...again in business and in sport. We have been sold the need for patience for a number of years....
  14. Calgary has also demonstrated an ability to plug and play when they have had significant injuries across the board. They also have had a measure of success when BLM missed a number of games this season.
  15. Is MOS not ultimately responsible for what you admit is a shitty offence. That’s like saying is level of success is in spite of himself. Accountability begins at the top and filters down, both in business and in professional sports,
  16. To say that mathematics and probability will determine the ultimate goal of a championship here is at best....not even a stretch. If you believe that how many more years of this patience plan are you willing to endure? Part of the reason for Calgary’s level of stability is predicated on success....not hope and probability.
  17. Alexander contributed to the improved play of the secondary.....to attribute it to the absence of Hall is perhaps both unfair and inaccurate.....but the Hall Haters will believe what they want to believe.
  18. Chicken and the egg. Was Streveler’s performance a product of a game plan unsuited to his skills or was his performance the cause of a failed game plan? I vote for a game plan poorly designed for his abilities.
  19. #1..... and you know Ritchie Hall was the problem because? Alexander replaced Hecht.....Hecht was the problem....Bighill replaced Hurl....Hurl was the problem. If you know that Hall was responsible for Hecht and Hurl playing perhaps you can make your conclusion. But I’m guessing you don’t know who on the food chain made those decisions.
  20. Young showed tonight that having a player that can actually make plays at safety is huge. So perhaps you could have been DC tonight and had the same better result.
  21. The challenges with that strategy is we have recently witnessed what happens when opposing defences know we are going to run the ball. Cold weather or not you still have to make opposing defences respect the threat of a pass and a deep passing threat.
  22. These posts are about as productive as two people having a debate of opposing political views.....useless.
  23. A third stringer that likely gets a quick bump up to #2.
  24. It would seem to be a pretty reasonable assessment.
