If we landed one of Bryant or Rodgers to play tackle, Curran to play MLB and Jackson to play receiver, I'd call it a fantastic free agency period. Spencer Watt as a 3rd NI receiver, Hurl as another NI LB would be nice too.

Ah yes, it's all about the Riders. Nobody else matters. Greatest fans in the CFL since 2007. Forget the 2 telethons to keep the team afloat. Forget getting 20,000 people out to a game or 70% capacity. Show me a qualitative analysis of TV viewership, merchandise etc and get back to me.

There is no way we get Heenan. We would have to GROSSLY overpay for SK to let him go -- he's a local boy, old man is a Riderdouche, blah blah. He wants to go to the NFL. Or play in SK. I would like to say take a huge run at him to get SK to burn a bunch of cap money to keep him, but they dont follow the cap anyway so whats the point? I love the CFL and defend it up and down. But the way the cap is treated makes me think it needs a serious cleansing So we grossly overpay. It's not like the Bombers are up against the cap like the Riders. I don't know about you but I'm tired of seeing our qbs being used for punching bags by other teams defensive linemen in the league. I don't care what they pay the guy to sign him. Just sign him. How do you know the Riders are up against the cap when you don't have access to salaries? Taman said he will be aggressive on the 10th. 1. Getzlaff reported salary $225,000 2. Dressler reported salary $200,000 3. Watson reported salary $120,000 4. Labatte reported salary $200,000 5. Durant reportedly makes between $300,000 and $400,000. That's five players making 1.05 and 1.15 million on a salary cap of 5 million. I didn't include Dressler's reported $200,000 bonus so 1.1 million to 1.35 million for 5 players. 20-27% of your cap tied up in five players. I didn't include NI vet starters like Emery and Best either. Can Taman afford to add $200,000-$250,000 for Heenan. Say you're adding $250,000 for Heenan. That could be 1.6 million tied up in 6 players or a third of your cap.

Watson has missed 20 games out of 54 the past few years and has missed at least a third of the season each year. That doesn't include the games he was hurt in and left or didn't produce in. He appears to be a guy who is chronically injured. What are the docs in Regina going to do that wasn't done in Winnipeg? Have the Riders been better at rehabbing players?

Looking at the rankings and just throwing stuff at the wall, is it possible we take Durant at #2 and OT Ruby at #11?

Is Clark an upgrade at guard over Neufeld and Greaves? Now Lawrence or Reed at linebacker would be nice or Hickman at DE. Aren't our priorities going to be something like 1. Heenan 2a. Bryant 2b. Rodgers?

So who are our targets in Free Agency? Heenan is a given, likely Rodgers and Bryant but who else?

That sucks about Holmes. Hope Heenan decides to join us. However does free agency look more like us landing Rodgers or Bryant to replace January at tackle and a NI receiver like Watt or maybe an Earnest Jackson?

Always liked Watson but like this deal: Get a top 15 pick in a loaded draft, a young NI and save about 100 k for a guy who hasn't been healthy in 3 years.

I could see them targeting Holmes/Heenan first along with Rodgers/Bryant and then if they strike out on the 1st two NIs looking at Wojt. I'd prefer Bryant-Greaves-Picard-Neufeld-Heenan with Gossen/1st Rounder. I'd take Bryant/Rodgers-Greaves-Picard-Wojt/Neufeld-Daniels.

Collie would be a pretty big risk, health wise.

When was the last time Wojt was healthy?

Excited about Wright. Potential SAM? Replacement for Sears?
