  1. IF anyone really thinks the bombers don't want to establish the run I'm going to call them an idiot and be completely justified in it. They need to fixthe #1 problem first and everything else will fall into place. They need to get more from the quarterback position.

And that's why most of your arguments fail.  Not because you're wrong, but because you constantly insult people calling them idiots.  Seriously, grow up with that crap already.

But I do agree with you that we need to establish a passing game as well.  But we still need to run it more and we're not doing that enough.  The more touches he has, the more Simpson will figure out the defense and blow through them.  Especially if you do it over and over each game.

Charles Roberts had an average of 15-17 touches per game from 2004-2006 and then it dropped slightly in 2007.  This is what Simpson needs.

  2. I had a dream last night that we will get off to a hot start tonight, 11-0 in the first quarter.

But I also dreamed that Oscar from the Office played for the Argos, Doug Brown was back with the Bombers, and they were wearing orange and blue.

So I don't know how reliable that dream was.

Hey I had the same dream...except it was Oscar from Corner Gas.  I think he'd get blown away pretty fast.

  3. Sure just give Simpson the ball every play and all our offensive problems will magically get resolved.

    ....

Is that what I said?  No.  I said give it to him more then 11 times.  You can't expect a good run game with just 11 carries.  We've discussed this before.  20 times per game is a good number to shoot for.

  4. yeah if the coaches refuse to pull the guy then we're left hoping for something to force their hand and that's a damned shame.

    *cough*....Khalif...do your thing.

Kidding aside, I really don't want to see a person get hurt, I just want him pulled.  At least pull him when he's doing bad.  Let your second or third get some play time and see what they can do.

  5. The frustrating part was he was out of the pocket on at least 3 sacks and could of easily threw it to the stand but held it and was sacked for a lose. Against the blitz he has to know where the hot reads are. Could you image what Milt and Khari would of done against being blitz all night like that.

It's sad to think Khari was our last decent QB (Glenn was alright, but didn't have the career Khari did).  I miss Dave Ritchie too.  :(

  6. I don't know about deep balls, but you could see plenty of receivers open in the intermediate portions of the field over the course of the game.

That and instant replays.  They show the different angles of the game and you can see the receivers open...waving their hands in the air...apparently to hail a taxi cab.

  7. Yesterday's interview:

    http://www.bluebombers.com/video/index/id/86345?autostart=true

Crowton had the audacity to say it was our receivers who were getting beaten by the other teams DB's.  What game was he watching?  Because I saw many times where our receivers were wide open and Buck was just standing there.  I'm not saying Buck is the whole problem, but he's at least 75% of our offensive problems.  Not once did Crowton or Burke talk about Buck's bad play.  Well, Burke kind of mentioned it, but nothing specific.

  8. I hope Burke will not waste another game with Pierce. That 'Pierce is our best chance to win' tag is quickly fading away.

Especially if they play in Winnipeg with him next game.  The Boo Birds are going to be out in full force.

I agree with others here.  Buck needs to go, and the question we all seem to have is, why isn't Burke pulling him?

  9. Hey all,

My wife and I want to buy tickets to the Saskatchewan game (few tickets still left) and bring the kids, and I'm just wondering how Section 116 is?  Should I go up to the top of that section or more in the middle?  Just trying to think what may give us a better view of the field.

    Thanks.

  10. Thanks for saving me the trouble. Even better is adding in what the offense actually accomplished on their own getting those 33 points. 7 came from a punt return, 7 more came after the D set them up right near the goal line with an int return.

    Yes exactly.

You can't put the D on the field for 3 quarters of the game and expect them to not run out of wind.  I noticed in the last quarter, they were just running out of steam.  I bet had our offence just stayed on the field for a longer time during the game (and I mean just stayed on the field, they wouldn't even have needed to score points), our D would have shut out Montreal's offence in the last quarter and we probably would have won.

  11. Crowton's play calling is sub par from what I've seen.  Unfortunately we have no one else and can only hope he gets better.  And, FYI, the only reason Buck put points on the board last night is because of how badly Montreal played.  Buck looked very shaky, especially after the hits he took.  But he was looking shaky even at the start.  I mean, have you ever watched a close up of him on the camera?  The dude's got this glazed over look like he's staring into the magical tunnel of wonder.

I find a lot of the comments regarding, "none of the other QB's have proven themselves yet so Buck's our only option" kind of dumb.  How is a QB supposed to get experience if they never play him?  Seriously.  Throw Hall or Goltz out for a few series and let's see what they can do.  I'm not saying the whole game, just a few series.  It's either that or wait till Buck gets pounded into the ground, or plays so badly one of them has to come in.

And just as a last note, our D was amazing last night and carried this team.  I haven't heard anything on Turner yet, but I hope he's ok and recovers quickly.
