  1. He pleaded guilty to obstruction and turned on his 2 buddies, each of whom were later acquitted. Victim's blood was for sure in his vehicle. Pretty suspicious. But no, never found guilty of murder or manslaughter
  2. If RuPauls Drag Race can go umpteen seasons then the CFL can at least go 1 yaaaaaaaassssss
  3. Players had to find alternatives to football to make ends meet while the CFL got back on track during covid. It makes perfect sense that guys would bide their time to see how things shook out before announcing their retirements. An abbreviated season is obviously not enough for some to walk away from new careers outside of football. I was expecting retirements and I'm expecting more right up til camp opens.
  4. Got my second Moderna yesterday at 11... basically ran a fever all night, I'm burning up rn. Definitely a sick day. Be ready for some downtime folks...
  5. I was able to book Monday morning June 21, Convention Center Moderna. The wife got Pfizer and hasn't been able to book any earlier than late July...
  6. Kyle Borsa?
  7. I thought as others did that 2 games was the most he'd serve. Yikes
  8. And then Lowry takes a puck in the ear while sitting on the bench. You had to ask, didn't you?
  9. Bieksa called us Edmonton at least once, I thought maybe twice
  10. Good
  11. To be clear, I mean the topic of Residential Schools in general, not this specific horror show. Long story short, and trying to avoid putting words in anyone's mouth... in the BLM/Travis Rudolph thread (which I recommend everyone avoid like the plague) I, a privileged suburban white man, basically argued that socio-economic status matters and should be reflected in sentencing. This was in response to the suggestion that a crime is a crime, no matter who, what, or where, and that victims of racism hate or prejudice shouldn't be able to use any of the above as an excuse when sentenced. I said that the black and white world of right and wrong they live in does not exist, never has. I then suggested that they attend a Truth and Reconciliation dialogue to better understand why generational racism and open prejudice might have something to do with why a person might find themselves desperate enough to commit crimes. I was then informed that: 1) they were aboriginal 2) they were a residential school survivor, and 3) that I looked like a ******* idiot for preaching from an ivory tower. I'm gunshy to say anything to anyone at this point, you could say. Which is frustrating, because at these very same T&R dialogues you are urged to speak about it often and openly if you want to be an agent of change.
  12. Last time I spoke on the subject here I was roundly told to STFU so why even bother.
  13. Oscar Isaac (Star Wars' Poe Dameron, Ex Machina) confirmed as the lead for Moon Knight. I'm not a 'MCU guy' since I've only watched a few movies and the Netflix series (Daredevil and co.) but Moon Knight was one of my favorite comic book characters. Its the nunchucks.
  14. Spare yourself. Just imagine 200 pounds of wet grass wearing a wife beater and white-framed sunglasses
  15. I think you're counting ICU beds in all Manitoba; my numbers are for Winnipeg, I plainly said so, and several pages back you can see my source from the first time I posted should you wish to verify.
  16. Now my own father has had his non-emergency non-elective surgery pushed back twice now. Its not life threatening, only agonizing and detrimental to his day to day life. But hey, on the plus side, at least we saved those tax dollars on those unused ICU beds. Well, back to begging the Feds for money and nurses, shipping patients to Ontario and the US, and ignoring doctors as they plead, yet again, for a stay at home order since current restrictions aren't being enforced. We are on the Titanic without enough lifeboats. Only we knew the iceberg was out there years before leaving port, and we sailed ahead anyways.
  17. I mean I don't want to get all political it's f'ing exhausting. All I know is the doctors warned back in 2017 when the proposed cuts were made that using average occupancy rates for ICU's was basically ******** if you want to be prepared for a pandemic. Simply, ICU's are supposed to be mostly empty. If they are full, you are in trouble. Without knowing COVID-19 was a thing they were able to tell us that we had nowhere near what we needed if cuts were enacted. Warnings were ignored and cuts were made. Then the pandemic came and these same doctors penned a letter warning that, as a direct result of our limited ICU capacity we had to do everything we could to avoid an outbreak. They were called troublemakers and ignored. These are all facts, I'm not scapegoating anyone. If you think 18 beds don't matter when we are exporting our patients to neighboring provinces while cardiac patients die in their beds awaiting surgery then I really don't know what to tell you. There is all sorts of blame to go around but only certain people are in a position to make things happen.
  18. Yes, these greasy pricks are helping absolutely no-one. We have roads to fix, I'd like to put them on a chain gang til they figure it out. But these people didn't cut 18 ICU beds over the last 4 years.
  19. It really gets my goat. They were warned repeatedly, and they didn't just ignore advice... they scorned it and the people that were giving it. Said they were just trying to stir up trouble. Ugh. No, stirring up trouble is mentioning the fact you've been working without a contract for over 4 years. These people were sounding the alarm bells for OUR safety. But.. nobody that could do anything about it, seemed to care...
  20. Winnipeg had 73 ICU beds in January 2017. Then Victoria, Concordia, Seven Oaks and more get trimmed or axed, leaving us with 55 by January 2020. I just don't know that people really cared if it didn't effect them directly. This pandemic is exposing it to everyone, rather than the few impacted at rare peak/overflow times being the only ones to learn the awful truth. Someone in the PC government said 'look at all these empty beds, you aren't even using them!' The NDP had been overspending on healthcare, like drunken pirates we were told. Bet the 6 families are glad we were able to tighten our belts. SMH. I get that tough decisions need to be made by the people at the top, but honestly, this is embarrassing and shameful.
  21. Leaving it all on the ice. These guys want it
  22. Helle well above average tonight
  23. This is a great analogy. Who's seen Full Metal Jacket? Someone needs a pillow party. I'm not saying we should beat these antivaxxers with pillowcases full of bars of soap, I'm just saying if we filmed it we'd get an Oscar nomination.
