  1. He can and he most likely will. Mason Fine hasn't done **** all year and hasn't shown me anything that would lead me to believe he will come in and beat Calgary. Fajardo isn't good but Fine will be worse. Unless Dickie got this suggestion from management he is basically saying he doesn't want to be head coach of the Riders next year.
  2. Our run defense was also worse than usual. I love BA but I don't think he should be trying to kill RBs the same way he kills receivers. They are a lot shifter. Cost us a lot of yards this game. One more lament about letting Steven Richardson go. Our defense is generally built around playing linebackers in coverage as much as possible. Important to not let running backs get through the line or its basically a first down.
  3. Didn't you know we only had 4 starters out and otherwise it was the same team
  4. Also have to give credit to Dru Brown. If he has our full offense (o line, Brady) for a full game then we probably win. He was far from perfect, obviously. But watching film and making throws when the bullets are flying is a huge difference. He only gets better with playing time.
  5. DBs were pretty darn good tonight I'd say. They tried going after Lawrence a lot and he made his share of plays. Not bad for his first game with us
  6. By your definition it's also illegal participation 🤔 That rule is beyond dumb anywaya By your definition it's also illegal participation 🤔 That rule is beyond dumb anyways By your definition it's also illegal participation 🤔 That rule is beyond dumb anyways Edit: well that's weird and I'm on my phone and can't figure out how to fix this easily.
  7. They might have to wait for the ghost of Ricky Ray before their next home win
  8. The ghosts of Commonwealth might have woken up. Would be something to see the Elks get their first home win in eons Edit - Quote the referee: FURTHERMORE
  9. I know Brown is under contract for next year but this could be the game that determines how many suitors will be on his doorstep for a trade this off season.
  10. Just tuned in to see MBT nearly murder one of his receivers. Trying to add to the body count.
  11. I just realized that even though Ottawa lost.. Ottawa wins 2 against Hamilton they are at 6 wins. Hamilton wins any and they're at 6. Barring ties sask has to win
  12. Ottawa needs a quarterback. Masoli likely wins this game
  13. Ham and Ottawa would both have 5 wins after tonight and play each other twice which guarantees a 6 win. Technically sask could tie a game against Calgary if one of Ham or Ottawa swept
  14. Ottawa and Hamilton play each other the last 2 games of the season which means one would get to at least 12 points.
  15. Ottawa winning this means Sask must beat Calgary at least once to make playoffs
  16. These are 2022 regular season awards right? Not first half of 2022 season awards. Also not 2022 and half of 2021 awards. Or maybe like 2023 potential + 2022 awards. Pretty sure the lines for these awards are drawn
  17. Of course MBT can feel ghosts
  18. And we have two rookies in the lineup in Parker and Holm who are just getting better. Darby and Houston on standby...
  19. Pretty sure Rose tripped on the receiver's feet on that play. He may not have made the play but it would have been close IMO It's true Corny was really bad last night. Everytime we got pressure he missed his receivers by miles. Some of the better QBs will make those throws.
  20. Won the GC in his first year as OC 😁 Every year as OC he has won the GC
  21. This is somewhat of a strawman argument as you were originally claiming we should be tossing away a 1st round draft pick for a top DE. Nobody goes into drafts with the mentality that they're going to draft the best players in the 2-4th rounds. Why don't we just pass when our turn comes up in the first round? But here is the actual success of our 1st round draft picks in recent history (dating back to Ekakite who you referenced): 2017 we had 2 first round selections, 1 was Ekakite (fail) but the other was Geoff Gray. We drafted Drew Dejarlais and Jonathan Kongbo in 2019 in the 1st round. Reason we didn't have a 1st rounder in 2018 was because of the trade to get BCs first round pick in 2019. 2020 we didn't have a first round pick because we won the Grey Cup with Zach Collaros . 2021 we drafted Liam Dobson 2022 we traded our 1st rounder to move into the 2nd round and acquire Cameron Lawson With all of the trades where we got rid of our 1st rounder it was to get more Canadians or Zach Collaros. Dejarlais and Kongbo might be gone but they helped us win a cup and we would still have a pretty good chance to sign them if they came back to the CFL. Nothing above involved an American player.
  22. Have we been trading first round picks for American players not named Zach Collaros? Note I said high value Canadians. That doesn't usually mean 2nd of 3rd round picks
  23. Definitely some guaranteed money there.
  24. Agreed. We are not in the business of trading high value Canadians for Americans. The only exception is a top QB (1st for Collaros)
