  1. Yup, watched that same Homeland episode. Which got me to thinking..... For all the stuff about Trump being unpredictable or not knowing what he is doing ...... a far bigger spotlight needs to be put on the actual man with a actual plan.... Steve Bannon "Organized chaos" Major dismantling of the administrative structures within the US, discrediting the mainstream media and the judiciary, and destabilizing relations with long time allies. Jingoistic and isolationist white nationalism, that uses the themes of hatred, fear, bigotry, and the byline of Aryan supremacy to divide the country, while misleading and "re-educating" the masses. Muslims, immigrants of any sort, educational and perceived social "elites" and "Leftists" (broad brushed as Socialists, Communists, criminals and traitors). Repeating the big lie (or in this case, the multiple lies) over and over again to embed them into the daily narrative/reality. Even a cursory glance at the comments/discussion pages of sites like Brietbart, Fox, and some of the Drudge network, will tell you just how well this approach is actually working Getting big "government" out of the lives of Americans - to be replaced, of course.....with more intrusion of big business and corporate entities. As example, Americans can now kiss any vestige of their Internet privacy.... goodbye. After only 67 days of this administration.....does any of this look and sound familiar? Gives one the creeps... Trump is basically the flim flamming, carny barker, front man all of for this. The Don is simply happy enough to have the prestige, massive attention and ego stroking 24/7....and of course, to continue to further feather the nest, big time - for both himself and his family. He can pull the ripcord at anytime, have somebody write him some more books, and cook up some more "reality" TV..... Remarkable that in the myriad list of "enemies", I have traced above - the Russians in general and Putin in particular are nowhere to be seen, Or perhaps not that remarkable. ps - the surest way to get to the bottom of the "relationship" with the Russians is to simply follow the money. This applies to Trump, his family, and his advisors
  2. In 2015, the US imported 295 Billion dollars worth of products from Mexico - agricultural products, machinery, oil, etc. Who in the hell does Trump think ....will ultimately pay for a border tax? Other than American consumers - as an example, taxing Mexican crude oil, would hit US motorists squarely in the pocket.
  3. If you can stand to read this stuff through to the end....and wash hands afterwards. An inside look at Jared Kushner - official White House foreign relations advisor for Canada, Mexico, China and of course The Middle East. Also President Trump's son-in-law.... https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2017-01-27/jared-kushner-s-felon-father-brought-two-fellow-inmates-into-company He should be formally adopted.... as being a real chip of the ole block.
  4. The next interesting episode of reality TV in the House, will occur as federal government funding expires on April 28th. In 2013 Ted Cruz and his supporters manufactured a total shutdown of all Government business. Ryan is probably aware that this cost the former Speaker, Mr.Boehner HIS job. The optics of a shutdown, despite controlling the White House and both chambers of Congress - would be a hugely, bigly, and immense political disaster, for the Republicans....that would totally dwarf the recent Healthcare defeat. Of course, the now emboldened Freedom Caucus are insisting that all Federal monies for Planned Parenthood be blocked - in exchange for their support. Obstructionist zealots, can be real hard to deal with, as Trump already knows. The House Brand Tea Baggers will demand that funding for the almighty Wall be included. However, big name Republicans from the Border States (McCain, Cornyn, Flake, Hurd et al.) are worried about both the money and private property rights, with building this Wall. Some of them will probably vote against it. The funding might come down to being dependent on some Democratic support - but in that case, the Dems could demand that a certain amount of the military spending or proposed tax breaks for the wealthy be scaled back... Getting some of this stuff by the Senate? (like eliminating PP, which would be DOA) Merely future headaches.
  5. 65 day as POTUS, 21 visits to Trump properties, 13 visits to the golf course. Guy must be exhausted.
  6. AMERICA TAKEN HOSTAGE - DAY 65
  7. So after the bigly setback in the House....Trump went off to Aspen for some skiing......but probably not with son in law Jared Kushner. http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/24/politics/jared-kushner-aspen-ski-trip-obamacare/ Donald then got down to tucking it to Paul Ryan Trump Friday afternoon: "I like Speaker Ryan. I don't blame him, he worked very hard," Trump early Friday night: on Twitter Watch @JudgeJeanine on @FoxNews tonight at 9:00 P.M.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 25, 2017 At 9:00 P.M. on the dot......Jeanine Pirro, host of “Justice With Judge Jeanine,” then delivered a scathing commentary on Ryan’s performance in the days leading up to the decision to pull the House Republican bill to overhaul the Affordable Care Act. “It failed within the first 70 days of President Donald Trump’s administration, a president who made the replacement of Obamacare the hallmark of his campaign and then used valuable political capital to accomplish it,” said Pirro, placing the blame squarely on Ryan. White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Trump’s tweet was motivated only by his being a fan of Pirro’s show. After delivering her commentary, Pirro said that there had been no coordination with Trump in her messaging. Sure.....these folks are as honest as the day is long......all of this happened shortly after I saw a blue pig, fly past my window. But hey it was only business, nothing personal. Hope Ryan has a parachute handy. What Ryan needs to understand: When you lie with a skunk, after a while it starts to smell pretty bad.
  8. """"Who knew that health care could be so complicated?""""
  9. 2 weeks ago: "I could wait for Obamacare to collapse, but that would be the irresponsible thing to do." Today: Trump indicated that he will "wait for Obamacare to explode" and predicts that 2017 will be a "bad year for health care in America" At least Ryan was somewhat candid about the situation. Can't say the same for the Closer. He can spin away, but with control of both executive branches and the Presidency - the Repubs could not put together the signature repeal and replace plan, that Republicans have been trumpeting about from the rooftops for 7 years, along with Trump maintaining that this was his job 1. What happened? Well Ryan and Trump did a last minute cave-in to the Freedom Caucus - chopping the 10 "Essential Health Benefits", under Obamacare. But this had the boomerang effect of having the moderate reps in the House run for the hills, in droves. Instead of 25 no's.....it became closer to 45. Ryan did the head count, and had to trudge over the the Closer, and recommend that the bill be pulled. As more time passes, and the AHCA is studied a bit closer, more people will realize what a total piece of crap that it was.... ....and to add insult to injury, Donald had to miss his tee time at Mar- a- Lago
  10. Taking money from health care.... as far as the aged, poor and sick .....and using it for tax breaks for the rich, would fit right in.
  11. In defense of my personal freedoms and safety.....I have the perfect right to have an assault weapon, in case attacked by an angry mob. Or a rocket launcher, in case I am a potential victim of road rage......or a flyby.
  12. Call it the James McCord factor.......nobody wants to take the entire fall.....so a guy like Flynn may have to do, what he has to do.
  13. "I am required to tell you that I have a gun." BANG BANG BANG
  14. So, no vote today and Trump has given the House an ultimatum, as he is "finished with negotiations" about the health care package. 7 years, 62 repeal motions in the House, while running their mouths non-stop, about repealing Obamacare and replacing it with something "better" After all that.....scrambling around with this half baked plan is the best they could do? With a majority in the House, Senate and holding the Presidency? As I predicted, folks in the WH already making statements about the poor job Ryan is doing - even before the vote. Designated scapegoat. Unless it goes through, then the Bigly Orange will of course, take the credit.
  15. Because at some point "the evidence" would have to be handed over to the FBI and Justice Dept. That could get tricky, if you have none.....
  16. Given the behavior of Trump's late Campaign Manager (Manafort) his late National Security Advisor (Flynn) current Attorney General (Sessions) and current Press Secretary (Spicer)........this Nunes business should come as no real surprise.....
  17. NO Because the Donald is rapidly becoming the political version of a tar baby. (see interview link below) The Republicans still hold the House and Senate, and Pence is a perfect double vanilla cardboard cutout, to prop up there, while the Freedom Caucus boyos, aided by Bannon simply run wild. Also interesting to read Briebart (Bannon), the last little while, with the Rand Paul fanboys, calling the new health care plan "RyanCare" and setting Paul Ryan up to be the fall guy to take the blame if it goes under. Check out this interview by Time Magazine with Trump. Unreal, even by his "standards", but does give you a pretty good idea how he creates those interesting tweets. http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/23/politics/trump-time-interview-wiretaps-falsehoods/index.html
  18. Donald Trump Jr. does a fly-by hit on the mayor of London, after today's terror attack. http://abcnews.go.com/US/donald-trump-jr-criticizes-london-mayor-terror-attacks/story?id=46313114 Real class.....way to respect and reassure your allies.
  19. Check out the Wall Street Journal's editorial on Trump, today. WSJ is a somewhat right wing entity, given its ties to the financial and big business universe - they had taken the line that at least, Trump would be "good for business" Well, they have absolutely unloaded on him, as being in danger of being regarded as a "fake President"
  20. Didn't see any quotation marks, in that statement........this is serious stuff.
  21. Have been posting in response... to lies by Trump and his administration. Now realize that it is literally a 24/7 job. No longer a question of simply exposing the lie of the day, but actually having to select the most outrageous one.... from a pack of them. We now have Republicans of every stripe, resembling pretzels and clothes dryers, in trying to justify this stuff. FDR's 100 Days.....this aint. But it may go down in history, anyways....
  22. In the immortal words of Wille Cicci "Oh yeah, a buffer. The family had a lot of buffers!"
  23. Trump has already done a pretty good job of making key allies like UK, Germany, and Japan.....nervous and confused. Every time Trump or this administration says anything.....they need to wait to see if they can "take it literally", or consult a seer or Cudgee board, in order to formulate any answers. To say nothing of Israel (one or two nation solution? or the Chinese, given the conflicting statements about Taiwan...... Ignorance and bluster is the stock in trade, here.
  24. Anyone watch the Sean Spicer Filibuster, today? Shape shifting, spinning. shuffling, channel changing, deflections, and deliberate obtuseness.....delivered rapid fire and non-stop, in a attempt to simply bewilder, exhaust or simply wear out the press gallery. A real trooper. Just don't attempt to apply any logic or rationality to any of it. This stuff transcends any of that.
  25. On the bright side, in taking a closer look at the proposed Trump budget....plenty of useless entities would be cut. Arts including PBS funding Foreign Aid Diplomatic Service (State Department) Science programs and research Environmental protection Social programs for the working poor Agriculture - rural development and research grants Education - federal work-study aid to college students, grants for teacher training, after-school and summer programs, and aid programs to first-generation and low-income students Grant programs to state and local agencies, including pre-disaster mitigation grants and counterterrorism funding Housing - eliminates the $3 billion Community Development Block Grant program, HOME Investment Partnerships Program, the Choice Neighborhoods program and the Self-help Homeownership Opportunity Program $35 million of funding Community Development and Affordable Housing All funding for the 49 National Historic Sites Eliminates grants for Community Development Financial Institutions, which provide financial services in economically distressed neighborhoods This is only a partial list -there is far more that I can put in this post - but you get the idea. At least the US would have more military hardware, perhaps a bigly wall, and more rent-a-cops to push immigrants around. You know, the things that really count. Trump Banana Republic
