Climate change or not, there are still going to be wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters. The link between increasing extreme climate activity and human-induced climate change is spurious at best. This is merely an attempt to capitalize on immediate human suffering to gain support to achieve an agenda.

Comrie should be waivers-eligible starting in 2019-2020 unless he plays a ton of games in the NHL before that time. Probably not coincidentally, that's when Steve Mason becomes a free agent again.
-
He's been one of the top goalies in the AHL for a few years now. I actually find it shocking the Bruins would let him go in favor of keeping 31 year old Anton Khudobin. Makes no sense. And you had to know Vegas was looking for a goalie prospect. Just poor roster management by the Bruins.

Ehh... doesn't sound like Tanev is going to be coming out of the lineup any time soon. If Copp plays, we're more likely to see Petan or Dano take a seat.

CFL Toss Up of the Week: Regina at Toronto
Atomic replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yeah it's actually pretty incredible that the Argos went from being a total gongshow and not having a GM at the opening of CFL free agency to being the top team in the East (as weak as that division may be). -
Yes 2008 was the only year his yards per carry had fallen below 5.0. No question his production had dropped off but there were lots of problems with that 2008 team that may have played a role in that as well.

Who should I get on my jersey?
Atomic replied to Blue in the loops's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I recommend a home Matt Nichols jersey -
Maybe that was all the kept him sane and if he worked out all the time he would have hated it and retired early. Who knows? You can't just change the past.

Both incredible running backs for different reasons. I have a hard time choosing, but I'd have to go with Roberts.

The Bombers get awards when they earn them. Medlock just won MOSTP last season. In 2012 Chris Matthews won Most Outstanding Rookie. Jovon Johnson won the MODP in 2011. It's less about respect and more about just not having the best players on a consistent basis. We haven't had the Most Outstanding Lineman since 2001 but I think we get it this year with either Stanley Bryant or Travis Bond.
-
Agreed. Bryant is incredibly consistent... he would get my vote.

I was recently watching some old clips of Vince McMahon when he was an announcer. God he was good at that. I'd hope the biopic will include a lot of the early days and not just Attitude era Vince.... as great as that was.
-
Haha that would be perfect.

I'd take our defence over Sask and BC any day

So... Calgary is the only decent team?
-
Yes he is RHD but played a full year in college on the left side. Of course that is a possibility RE: Trouba. I think they are just covering all their bases and establishing depth. In other words, Trouba isn't necessarily leaving but we should be prepared for the possibility.
-
I was an 8 last year and would be a 9 this year but I got a seatbelt ticket so now I'm a 6. Stupid system!!!
-
Yeah another perspective would be to look at his "on-pace" numbers from last year and this year: 2016 - 1552 yards, 13 TD 2017 - 1392 yards, 10 TD Now.... "on pace" doesn't mean much.... but those numbers are pretty elite and I fully expect him to hit and possibly surpass the 2017 projection.

You could say that about any player or coach that has had success. There was always an idiot or group of idiots that wanted them cut or fired. Hell we are 10-3 and people are talking about whether Richie Hall's job should be in jeopardy. You can't please everyone all the time.

Deadliest Mass Shooting In US History - Las Vegas
Atomic replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in General Discussion
The point is that banning guns makes it no harder to run a truck through a crowd of people, or set off an explosive. It's addressing a symptom of a huge societal issue that will still exist even if guns are banned outright. -
He has become an absolute stud. Kudos to the coaching staff/scouting staff for seeing his potential when he had never cracked 300 yards in 2 years in Toronto. IMO he is a top 3 receiver in the league right now. Or top 5 at the very least.

TSN2 isn't regional. It is still like it was before when it was just TSN 1 and 2.... it's a "specialty" channel. You will often find that TSN 1/3/4/5 show the same thing while TSN2 shows something else. That's because TSN 1/3/4/5 function as the regional defaults... meaning if you only have analog (non-digital) cable, or a basic package, you get just one TSN and whichever one it is depends on your region. If you only have access to one TSN in Winnipeg, it is TSN3. Here's how the regions break down: TSN1: Primary feed for British Columbia, Alberta and Yukon TSN3: Primary feed for Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavut, Northwest Territories and parts of Northern Ontario. TSN4: Primary feed for Ontario, excluding Ottawa. TSN5: Primary feed for Ottawa, parts of Southeastern Ontario, Quebec and all Atlantic Canada.

Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
Atomic replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It's not terrible... 55 yards per game is a 1000 yard season. I'm not a huge Gable fan either but I do think he is better than what the Esks have behind their injured guys. -
Totally injury free in the D-corps? I don't know. The idea is almost so unlikely that it doesn't need to be considered. We always seem to have at least one guy go down for the season or a large portion. My plan? Have Poolman as the 7th defenceman for when someone inevitably gets injured. If he plays well... find a way to fit him in. If he plays poorly, send him down and default to Chiarot as the new 7th man. If we really do end up 40 games into the season without an opportunity for Poolman, then you consider sending him down to get some icetime with the Moose. But I can't see it.

Just to be fair, has Nichols' play "blown you away"? Both QBs are highly efficient and can win games in clutch moments. Nichols can use his feet a little more than BLM, BLM has a bit of a better touch on the long-ball than Nichols. Also the Stamps have had some serious injury trouble in their receiving corps and BLM has just kept clicking along. Not trying to make a case for BLM over Nichols. I just think you have to give credit where it's due... both players have been excellent.
