  1. Of course. And just as you might think the media who ignore it are cowards or whatever, I think that Slava is an idiot for his train of thought.
  2. This is what it boils down to for me. Slava is trying to shame the North American media into grilling Ovechkin over this and that's what I think is so ridiculous.
  3. Without a doubt, he does. And thank you for referring to me as Professor, that is very respectful of you. But keep in mind that what you hear from Slava is just his point of view. He does not represent all of Russia, he represents himself and maybe those who share similar views as he does. But no one should be shamed or bullied into agreeing with him, which is what he is doing in that thread of tweets.
  4. I've got no problem with media members asking Ovechkin about his political leanings, whether that is sports media or otherwise. But for Slava Malamud to suggest this is somehow their responsibility... that's where I don't agree. It's not. They can choose to ask him, or not. Not everyone agrees with the anti-Trump, anti-Putin rhetoric that is so popular on the left. And no one has the responsibility to "take Ovechkin to task" just because Slava doesn't like Putin.
  5. Come on people now. Smile on your brother. Everybody get together, try to love one another right now.
  6. Oh come on he's not that bad.
  7. Yeah he is a little "out there". He's good for translating Russian articles and providing news about former NHLers in the KHL but he's definitely got a lot of problems.
  8. Sure but every d-pairing is going to give up goals sometimes. That's just the way it goes.
  9. Nah I don't agree with that.
  10. Yeah I read that some of the writing crew maybe didn't like how she acted on social media. If you follow her she had a whole #GiveEmmaAChance thing going on. She was bigger on social media than she was on WWE TV. I don't know. Money obviously plays a role. I hope Darren Young surfaces in the indies somewhere. Not much charisma there but he's a pretty good wrestler.
  11. I was surprised to see earlier this week that WWE had released Darren Young, Emma, and Summer Rae. Darren Young and Summer Rae, I get, because they haven't really been around due to injuries and other reasons.... but Emma seemed like she was getting ready for a little push. I liked her, that's too bad.
  12. 28.... 28.... hmm.... doesn't ring a bell. OH WAIT are you referring to the 28 points you scored in the Banjo Bowl? While the Bombers scored 48? You're right, that WAS pretty awesome!!
  13. That is probably a good strategy for the Riders. They are better off losing and trying their luck in the East, because they're not winning a game in Winnipeg or Edmonton, that's for sure.
  14. I don't think ol' Danny boy is quite that spry these days but yeah that would be nice to see!
  15. Do you think the Riders would have any hope of winning games if they had lost 2 of their best defensive players, their best receiver and their best OL like the Bombers have? Picture the Riders without Ed Gainey, Henoc Muamba, Brendon Labatte, and Duron Carter. You really think the Riders would have the depth to compete without those players? You're dreaming.
  16. It seemed like Montreal was starting to play better but they took a big loss tonight, 6-3 to Minny. Jets gotta keep it rolling. Start Mason?
  17. Maybe not as flashy as everyone else but I just want to shout out to that Kulikov-Myers pairing. Sure they're not perfect but they are MILES ahead of the third pairings we have put on the ice in the past. Kulikov is turning out to be a pretty nice pickup.
  18. Actually no, it's not a sports journalist's job to ask athletes political questions. They can do it, or they can not do it. But it's not their job and it's certainly not their responsibility. Gotta love a guy who sits on twitter and complains about his colleagues. If he cares so much, then he should do it himself. Not try to bully and shame his peers into taking up the mantle for his cause.
  19. This was inevitable. Can't expect all these guys to just confess and apologize. It's also important to note that even if 9/10 accusations are true, it doesn't give the 10th person a free pass for making a false accusation. All the anecdotal evidence points to Ratner being a huge creep. But what can you prove in court? That's what matters, in the eyes of the law. As it should be.
  20. Probably for the best. He's starting to gather dust in the pressbox.
  21. Never happened. What full contact practices?
  22. There's nothing wrong with having a starting QB who rarely misses games. And if he's always playing, it's tough to judge the "in game" ability of his backups.
  23. Looks like we're up against Buckley at QB for the Stamps. Makes things a little more interesting...
  24. These two statements do not make sense together.
