  1. Bombers D awful for a good part of this game. Huge chunks of yardage to Green and run D looked bad again. Should have killed Montreal tonight but snuck outta there with 2pts. Take em, tuck your tail and slink outta there..
  2. our crew uses the "...car only has a half a tank of gas..." line a LOT.....
  3. God, I hate ignorant people...

  5. My life is a constant debate between "Is it too late for coffee?" and "Is it too early for booze?"
  6. ...well, that, and spelling...
  7. 5pm for us in AB. Gotta try and wrap up work early and get home without hearing anything, then crank back the PVR...
  8. Had to start him and Coehoorn (while sitting Marquay McDaniel) in Fantaseh this week in order to have enough NI starting, so thank **** he did something...
  9. I'm legitimately curious...without knowing what the protection schemes were SUPPOSED to be last week, why do you feel this way? No, I don't know what the calls were last week, but I do know that they didn't work and it wasn't just on the Willy hit either. I also know that the QB gets hit a log in MB run offenses and we need to reduce that for Willy to last the season. I don't think the Bombers are stupid so I expect there will be changes made. As you don't know what the protection schemes were SUPPOSED to be last week, why do you think we can run them better this week without making changes? What I know is that we can't judge the protection schemes until we actually see them performed properly. We know they had multiple instances last week of guys screwing up the play, with the most noticeable being Gudino, for which he was suitably chewed out by Willy. All I'm saying is that we can't judge the schemes until we've seen them executed properly...

  11. Idiotic, really. "We expect them to bring more pressure but we certainly don't plan on doing anything about it." And again, you're completely misreading the situation. It's not about needing increased protection. It's about using the same protection they were SUPPOSED to have last week, but a lotta guys had heads up their asses and didn't do their job properly. If everyone does their jobs, then the same amount of protection from last week (not an increase) will be fine...
  12. It's always gotta be a black and white issue, eh? Always about the polar extremes...
  13. It's not so much about increased protection as everyone being on the same page. The OL, the Receivers/RBs, and Willy himself all have to read the situation correctly and make sure the right guys are being blocked out...
  14. Based on what I saw the first two weeks, I'm not sure that's as true as it once was....BLM has been pretty awful, and I'll be damned if I can figure out what happened.
  15. From the Wpg FP: "...Willy was examined at Investors Group Field immediately after the hit by team physician Dr. Peter MacDonald. MacDonald is regarded as one of the premier experts in sports medicine in Western Canada and is also the head physician for the Winnipeg Jets. He is a professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. He is also the chief research and innovations officer at the Pan Am Clinic. MacDonald was joined by at least two other doctors and longtime Bombers trainer Al Couture in treating Willy and then supervising his return to the field this week..." I'm just gonna go ahead and trust this guy, if that's all right...
  16. I literally laughed out loud at the thought of Andrew Ladd making 8m per season in any deal....holy Christ is that awesome. There is absolutely no reason to think Chevy is that stupid.
  17. as long as they show SOME progress from week to week, I set mid-season as the time when I'd like to see it looking "complete"...and then be fully humming like a diesel engine by playoff time.
  18. Again, I think there is a really good reason, and that's that it's going to take time for this defense to come together, and with the new rules in place, it's effecting a lot of teams. I just wanna see baby steps forward and am not expecting monumental things until Labour Day. I am fully willing to be patient with this defense as long as they show even a modicum of improvement from week to week.
  19. How do you know that Kohlert and Richards were close to being ready when the Bombers don't give any injury details? That's what you got from that post?Or is that another back-handed slap at Mike O'Shea? What I got from the post is you making statements that you can't possibly back up. LOL at the nerve of you, of all people, saying that.....
  20. If I'm the Jets, I don't like more than 4 or 5 years, max, in term for Ladd, and I'd say an AAV of 5-5.5m. Start him at 6, but it's gotta get lower as he goes. You don't wanna be paying this guy more than 3 or 4 TOPS by the end of his deal...
  21. Part of the concern is that they don't want to give away too much "free" content. They still try to make money from the actual paper they produce. Until their respective media outlets finds a way to monetize their tweets, there's going to be some concern over giving away their reporting for free...
  22. I disagree with this. In this new media age, tweeting is part of their job. It should be used to push followers / readers to their columns. It should be to gain trust from and expand their followers base to drive more traffic to their respective papers. Those tweets do nothing to make me want to read tomorrow's column. At least for Bob Irving, he doesn't have a column. I can tell you for a fact that this is basically true. In the new age of media, if you're not embracing Social Media with everything you do, then you're irrelevant and being left behind. You want people to care about your column the next day? Drive up interest via your social media page. As for expecting them to be fans....they're *supposed* to be impartial, but I think we can all agree that the reason Ed Tait is so damn popular is because he's a huge fan of the team, and has stated many times that he was raised going to games with his father from a young age. I'm not going to go outta my way to complain that these guys aren't doing their jobs...that's not for me to say. But as a fan, would I like to see more from them at practices? Absolutely...
