Christmas Classics/Traditions
We have done Bad Santa followed by Vacation every year for a decade now, among our group. For me, personally, I'm a huge fan of Christmas specials, so I have to watch Charlie Brown, Rudolph, both Grinch's, Garfield, and this year I actually found Merry Christmas, Mr Bean! on TV, so I watched that for the first time in awhile. Always great. The girlfriend is obsessed with Tim Allen's "The Santa Clause" trilogy, so we watch all 3 of those every year as well. As soon as December arrives, our house is like Christmas puked in here...

I just realized that Spuds and TBurg are the exact polar opposite posters on this site.......I think the goal of every poster should be to sit somewhere right in the middle of those two, rationale-wise....

I'm curious how many potential FAs are going to want to jump over there because they think it's the best bet to win a GC this year....

Toronto had been doing this for awhile.....as in, when MOS was there.....and it's a policy he kept from that time. Simple.

We aren't the only team with the policy. In fact I think most teams operate this way now.

Kopitar is not the best player in the league, so no, he's not as good as Toews.....but he's really ******* good. 10m good? No....but close...

Import receivers I have a really hard time with paying big money in FA.....that's the kinda thing you just GOTTA be able to recruit for. There's so many down there that might not be NFL calibre, but would fit in nicely up here.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but there's a lot more to that Esks offense than just the QBs. That whole team was a lot deeper/more talented than the Riders currently are. I have no doubt Jones is going to do some serious house-cleaning and make a ton of changes, but still....long way to go.....

Kopitar is very very good. He's not as good as Toews, but he's really good. I don't hate that contract for him....

Pessimist =/= realist. Untrue....but in this guy's case, very much pessimist.....

Damn it...woulda loved to have him come home again, but I suppose MOS wants to keep that hat on. Also, there's an awful lot of you putting some serious stock in Trevor Harris. I don't know that he's necessarily the saviour for Sask that some of you think he might be.

Pretty much how I feel about all things. I don't buy into this "Anything that's good for the league..." stuff. I've suffered enough without a championship in 25 years.....**** EVERYONE that's not us....

http://press.cfl.ca/commissioner-orridge-releases-statement-on-noel-thorpe-matter Thursday, December 17, 2015 — TORONTO -- The Canadian Football League has announced the following statement: Commissioner Jeffrey L. Orridge has done a thorough and complete investigation of the facts surrounding the Noel Thorpe matter and has determined that Thorpe’s purported resignation from his contract with the Montreal Alouettes on Tuesday December 15, 2015 in order to secure a coaching position with the Edmonton Eskimos was invalid based on the terms of his contract with Montreal and the existing by-laws of the CFL. Thorpe is currently still under contract to Montreal and is not free to resign from his existing contract to accept employment from Edmonton, or any other CFLClub, unless written permission is received from Montreal in advance and subject to the current protocol of advance approval from the League office. Commissioner Orridge has also determined that Edmonton did not violate the existing CFL by-laws and will not be subject to any discipline in this matter.

The situation alone is evidence. He didn't just decide to quit and coincidentally get scooped up by Edmonton as finders keepers. I haven't really been following the story on Thorpe and I am not 100% sure on the "Tampering Rules". But if Thorpe talks to Edmonton about a job then quits and joins them is that still tampering? Or is it only tampering if Edmonton goes to Thorpe without asking permission. ...and, along with this, good luck to anyone trying to prove which way this actually happened...
