Zero question in my mind that post COVID world is going to see a HUGE spike in live event attendance. Once people feel safe again, they're going to spend a pile of money on travel and event attendance.

We had a Junior team win Nationals last year... Jacques Gauthier (Kathy's kid) rink kicked some ass and might have a future. It's crazy because our ladies side is DEEP right now... We have like 5 or 6 teams that are more than solid.

Don't get me started on this. I'll rant for hours. Our men's division is ******* awful. I love Mike... He and I went to BU together and worked at SportChek together... But he's loony tunes that guy. Too high and too low... Reider is the balanced one. But that team just isn't good enough to make any noise. Gunner should be a 3rd for someone sensible. He's not a skip... And the rest of that team is just okay. The sooner they ditch Adam Casey the better. Our best curler that we've produced in at LEAST a decade is Matt Dunstone and unfortunately he got talked into skipping the only half decent curlers in Saskatchewan (which of course makes me physically ill) and is doing really well with a God awful team. I desperately want to see Dunny come home and skip a team of maybe Reider at 3rd, Wozniak at second and Denny Neufeld at lead, who I think is still the what lead Manitoba has had in a generation.... That team would be something. Oi. Our provincial men's curling scene.... Makes my head hurt right now.

Read some quotes from an interview with Wally and he seems to think the XFL folks might adopt most of the CFL rules to try and stand out from the NFL more. Obvious issue will be the field size down there, but other than that......

They (and similar provincial parties) just do not understand how Canada is evolving and becoming more and more progressive every day. They're getting left so far behind and just don't seem to care. There might be enough rednecks within provinces like AB/SK that can get them elected, but nationally? If you're not at least a little bit progressive.... You're totally ******.

I don't think people realize just how uniquely talented McDavid is. It's things like his release, which fools most goalies. On the 2 on 1 goal, he completely made that look like a pass was coming and when he released the shot, nobody knew it was happening. Tldr - he's just so much ******* better than anyone else in the game right now.

This is a worthwhile 9 minutes, but even after having watched this, I still don't know what the right answer is. Enjoy Canadian-based teams playing American football because it's better than nothing, or let the league die an honourable death because everything meaningful would be dead in a merger anyhow....

Until everyone is vaccinated, I'd keep everything as locked down as they possibly can. We've made it this long, we can last another few months. The good news is that the vaccines appear to be very capable against the new variants. Just have to buy time until we can administer enough vaccines...
