  1. Strev is gonna make that team on heart and hustle alone. I have zero doubts.
  2. **** I hate Van almost as much as Cgy. Someone needs to pump them 4 straight and shut those rioters up...
  3. Just speaking of Bombers memories, the Bombers Alumni FB account re-shared this fun Ed Tait piece about some memorable moments, including "Troy Kopp's 15 Minutes Of Fame" (it's his birthday today...) https://www.cfl.ca/2020/04/07/look-back-memorable-bombers-games/
  4. I actually saw Derek Taylor tweeting some **** about how good CF was going to be this year. Christ almighty, the **** they believe over there...
  5. Nothing more enjoyable than the fLames getting tossed in the fashion they did last night. Absolutely crumpled and it was wonderful to see. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
  6. imagine being so deluded that you think Cody Fajardo is a legitimate all star QB who was gonna throw for 5000+ yards this year.....
  7. ai yi yi....I forgot about how close that game was and how bad our secondary was at that point. Yeeeeeesh. Way closer than it needed to be. Once again, Trevor Harris with all sorts of yardage and (relatively) few points to show for it.
  8. Jays were in pretty dire straits recently and have now won 5 in a row and all of a sudden are looking like a playoff team (pretty much everyone above 500 makes it in). During the back half of today's double header, they were down 7-0 in the first, cake back and won 9-8...
  9. I thought I read that yesterday in one of the many pieces I read.....but it might just be that he was inducted into the Jets HOF (by 2.0 Jets) and had the banner raised. I just assume that "retiring" the number goes along with that...
  10. not sure about first memory. I was 10 when we won our last cup (before the current one) and I remember having the "Grey Cup Champs" pennant (I still have it).... I remember being at a game with Sean Salisbury (so I guess that would be the earliest...) that we won 14-12 or something to that effect. Trevor Kennard had all our points. It was cold and windy and miserable at the stadium that day. I also remember KD Williams with diamonds in his teeth and our whole section screaming "DEEEEEEE........FEEEEENCE....." when I was a little kid. And I remember watching the 60-pt blowout to the Esks (on TV) that got Coach Cal fired. Those are my memories from when I was a kid.....some good, some not so much.
  11. I have a hard time believing any of those guys is going to leave Osh and a championship squad. Especially the vets....just do not see that happening.
  12. Hawerchuk's number has been officially retired by both the 'Yotes and the Jets 2.0....
  13. One of my favourite games to re-watch is the Banjo Bowl from 2019....... my word was Streveler dominant in that game.
  14. there was a LOT of concern about his injury history and that, if he ever came into a game, he'd get hurt right away. So it all seemed really silly. Glad it worked out. As for that West Semi in Calgary.... I just remember saying to 17to85 at the half, "I feel like we're in this thing....we've got a shot". We knew that we almost always made good adjustments at the half...we just had to not lose it during the first half. Sure enough, it all came together. A beautiful thing to watch. I will never forget watching Demski run through that hole on the option by Streveler....
  15. I have almost every win from last year on my PVR. Have watched them regularly since the season was supposed to start. The last week or so, I decided to watch that magical run of Collaros games again. So much fun. I have also been working on the 2007 season, which has been a lot of fun.
  16. I saw that list online earlier..... Is that for all of Canada?? Or just Western Canada? Cause Jesus Christ.... If that's all of Canada..... Yikes. The Prairies are ******.
  17. couple things -- 17to85 is a church guy.....so there's that. Also, I never anywhere said that all church people are bad. I had a bad experience living in Manitoba's bible belt that has had a long lasting effect on me, and forced me to raise all sorts of questions about "belief" and "believers". So I, personally, have issues with "religious" people. But not all religious people are bad. People who love everyone and anyone, regardless of race, creed, sexual orientation/identity, are always good in my books.
  18. Gut punch. Any of us that grew up in MB during the 80s...Dale was The Man. Easily one of the greatest Jets of all time, and one of Manitoba's all time favourite athletes. Awful news, and as mentioned, F*** Cancer.
  19. "now thassssss fair!!!"
  20. has been refuted by several people, including Rick LaLacheur and Wade Miller, who said the entire league was on board. Lalacheur actually blamed Sportsnet (Madani) for having bad information.
  21. Seeing a lot of stuff online about how 2021 might not even be viable because large group gatherings won't be allowed by next summer. I really hope they find a way to make that happen. I don't know about an indoor venue like BC Place, but you'd think outdoor venues (most stadiums) plus masks for everyone, should be okay.....but I guess we'll see. And who knows when the vaccine will be ready...that might help, too.
  22. Thissssss is why I have such a problem with religion and religious people.... Yeeeeesh.
  23. Ya people think it's the Oilers that did the 50/50 but it's their charity arm, which is a foundation, that does the raffle. The proceeds don't have anything to do with the Oilers other than it goes to charities that the team selects... Same with the True North Foundation in Wpg. The money doesn't go to the Jets.
