I think you're overreacting. Dickenson didn't say he doesn't like Winnipeg, he said he's not interested in leaving Calgary. Nope. Don't think so. Our team has a major problem to overcome. Getting a quality GM will help alleviate the stigma this team has.

Lots of nice people get fired from their jobs. That's life. In this situation, it had to be done. No way the team could have any legitimacy going forward with the fanbase trying to sell Tim Burke as the guy who would coach this team to a championship. Renewals probably went up 15% this morning with this firing. And I agree that the entire architect of this mess was Joe Mack. Our import & Canadian talent is the worst in the CFL. From his comments last week, Miller hates the guy.

welcome to every single hiring in the world everywhere. welcome to every single hiring in the world everywhere. Not everywhere. I've been interviewed in the past on 2 occasions by people I knew well. One was a friend & another a former co worker. And while the interviews may have been out of courtesy to me, I didn't get hired for either position. These were large insurance companies & the 2 managers who knew me had their reputations to consider & to their credit they hired people who they felt were best suited for the position. I had no problem with that as I understood going into each interview it was strictly a business decision when it came to them hiring. That's how it should be. I've been on both ends of the interview process & I understood the situation. With Miller, from everything I heard & read, I just get the impression he is going to reward his old teammates because he trusts them. My thoughts are to simply hire the best person at every position be it GM or Head Coach because HE IS THE BEST PERSON for the team. Trust will evolve because it was a good hire. Success will come because of it.

I've come to the conclusion that the only way this mess gets fixed is if this team becomes privately owned. The community model the Bombers & Eskimos use is broken. Private ownership to me is the only way.

Bluto, when Jones was in Calgary & after Barker left he took on more scouting & personnel work to go along with his defensive coordinator position. He also was going to be in charge of the free agent camps the Stamps were running. So, I believe it was a lateral move to be with his friend Scott Milanovich.

I have nothing against Khari Jones. I'd like him here as an OC not as a HC. I want an experienced HC & GM running the show.

If Miller is the defacto GM then why not name him President of Football Operations & let him run with it? Keep Walters as an Asst GM & hire his own head coach. Not make Walters the GM & then he pulls the guy's strings. All this does is just muddy everything as no one seems to know what Miller has his hands into. Just what are the duties of a Team President with the Bombers anyway? Certainly things are diffferent with Miller than with Garth Butchko. Everything seems to change from day to day... To me that's not a huge hooray for Miller. I just fear that this is going to turn into another 3 year **** show because the Bombers... Just... Don't... Get... It. It's not about rewarding friends. It's about finding the best people possible to turn this team around. Something this team just never wants to do.

Burke is part of the problem & not part of the solution going forward.

I don't like this idea. It's pretty clear if it happens that the Bombers want Burke to earn his money. So, picture this scenario. A first year President (Miller) with a half season experience. A General Manager (Walters) with half a year experience & little or no contacts in the US. A rookie HC (Khari Jones) with no head coaching experience. Our former head coach (Burke) demoted to DC. This is the group that is going to turn this thing around??? Wow. Good luck.

The hatred for Burris has now been transferred onto Cornish.... It never ends.

That's why we need a regime change. All it takes is an EXPERIENCED HC LIKE TOM HIGGINS with a new attitude to convince players coming here won't kill their careers. Even whiny kickers like Sean Whyte.

Well, first of all most of us would have to think it is a point worth considering. Right now, it's not. The guy just brings down the Bombers. I don't think he's capable of pulling off a winning season.

no x2. Why this love for such a brutal head coach? What is he, something like 6-22??? I listened to the Coaches Show earlier this week & people calling in saying they hope he comes back. The man is a loser. We'll never win with Burke. Get rid of him.
