I have a real hard time criticizing run blocking when the majority of the run plays are starting with the ball carrier running horizontally and the lineman are firing out of two point stances. All they can do is get a body on a body and hopefully provide a cutback lane on those read plays, they can't get a push out of a two point stance.

Hope Crowton is watching. The Stamps use formations that get the ball into the RB's hands going north-south or outside the tackles with a read for Cornish to make, it's one cut and up the field, the run is established immediately even though everyone knows it is coming, it is executed, and now BC is completely off balance.

He was a great 2nd/3rd option to Armstrong and Stegall before the toe injury took its toll. There aren't many import receivers who wouldn't put up 1000 yards a season with the amount of times he is targeted. A great one would put up 1400-1500. He doesn't make enough of the tough catches in traffic (see Green and Richardson last night) to be considered great.

What's wrong with Labbe? You need to have special teamers and Canadian backups. He's more of a WIL than a MLB, and has always been a valuable player for us on passing downs. You just noticed that Edwards isn't a great player? He hasn't broken a tackle since 2007.

He was overthrowing everything. More of a chucker than a passer last night. Probably could have used more reps at game speed when you have to fit those throws through tight windows in the pre-season.

OL was great IMO. The only way Montreal got pressure was by bringing more than 5. Too bad our QB can't make a hot read and get rid of the ball. Montreal's OL was having big trouble, even with most of their offence being quick screens and misdirection. Hard to blame one guy in this sport, but the difference between winning and losing this game is the QB position. Brutal turnovers, no drives at all. The only reason this game was close, and there was a chance for us to win, was the defence. Not surprisingly, they wore down in the 4th when the offence did nothing. Exciting game to watch, but tons of room for improvement.

Count your Canadians! 4 man needs to be 3 IMPs and 1 NI to make the ratio requirements for our 42.

The league's backup long snapper is working on an oil rig right now checking his messages, waiting for an injury.

Douglas, Kowalczuk, Anderson/Matthews, Markett I think McGee plays because he has experience at multiple spots.

I doubt Calvillo has more than a couple hundred rushing yards for the season, so the read option part will be two options not three, the reason our zone read with Buck has been next to useless.

Plus the SAM needs to make a lot of reads. Having a guy in his first CFL game there against the all-time passing leader doesn't inspire confidence. Hopefully we can get pressure.

Our receivers are becoming a problem area. Edwards is chronically injured, but can play through it. Anderson's been injured, Poblah, Kohlert, Matthews, Pierce. Running out of bodies.

We have a spot on the active roster so claiming a PR player wouldn't be an issue, although the player has to agree. With Thomas out we are short a DL and Burke likes to run 6-7 guys through the rotation. I don't really see anyone (NI) out there who could jump into the rotation though, Antwi or Kashama?

Antwi or Lopez would be useful here. We are lacking special teamers.

Tristan Black is no better at WIL LB than Labbe. He's primarily a special teamer. Black would be competing with Rene Stephan to make our roster. I hardly see adding him as a solution to the WIL LB spot.

Wonder why the PA doesn't make a stink about the 9 game IR being used for extra practice roster spots. Sure the guys get paid full salary, but who knows if they were exposed to waivers they might actually get a chance to play. Hamilton has at least 3 guys on their 9 game who are "injured," we have Pencer. Maybe they can come up with some kind of protected list where guys have to clear waivers to be put on it.

I'm not sure how it isn't the question. You can't criticize someone for not adding veteran free agents without being able to back that argument up. CFL free agency is populated by guys that are there for a reason. Being a free agent is not a good thing, because it means the team you were on did not want you. It's not hockey or baseball. Generally changing teams in football is a really bad thing for a career, particularly for CFL imports. There is the odd guy who hits free agency who was stuck behind other guys on his team, but those guys are not usually the ones that people clamouring for "veteran hole fillers" are interested in.

He's making all the throws. BC's 3rd string receivers don't look too sharp in terms of hands and adjusting routes to coverage.

I think they want to keep all 4. Clement or Hall will be on the 4 man. Clement might even be #3 if they think he's the best short-yardage QB (Goltz sucks at sneaking). Doubt either Clement or Hall would take a PR spot.

I'd bring Brink back first.
