I'd like to see Stewart come in for Adams if he's banged up and McKnight get more targets downfield. He'll be an important piece if we ever get Collaros on the move, he needs to fill Demski's role. Buck is way too locked into Lawler and Bailey. Williams could get a look on returns, but we have no idea if he can handle punts and that's a big deal, defer to the coaches on that one. Any NFL cut is realistically 4-6 weeks away from practicing and playing, not really realistic this year. Anyone know if Naaman Roosevelt stayed north after the Als cut him?

O opened up downfield passing. Would have had two Lawler TD's if not for replay and drop.

If he has two hands on it and puts it on the turf it's a drop. That's all of Lawler's, 2 tonight, 3 last week. Drops with his hands in open field, drops going down to the turf. Still makes lots of plays, but a lot more out there. I blame the receivers less for the drops in the mid range game because Collaros throws heat and doesn't really put any touch on those balls when he's set in the pocket.

Yeah 4 scores and a midfield FG try. Didn't give up much even with lots of room to improve.

By my count Lawler has dropped 5 in the last two games, Bailey 4 although one would have been a great catch. Adams dropped a TD in Toronto and none tonight but wasn't targeted downfield.

Bighill has no moves either when he ends up rushing off the line, he always just tries to dip the OL and just gets shoved off his line into the pocket and out of the play. If they want to run blitzes they need to run stunts to open up space for the blitzers to have a path into the pocket. But really, just rush 4 and stay on Jefferson's ass to actually rush and not try to be Ray Lewis.

Gauthier is decent in the middle, at least he's going to hit something and finish plays. He's got great closing speed too.

Labbe was gone 3 years before Richie Hall came here. We constantly blitz our LB's on run downs. Doesn't matter who they are. It's kind of an all or nothing strategy and Hall has employed it regularly yes.

How can you challenge it? They already went to video review to make the call. He'd get a penalty if he did.

To me it looked like the gameplan was to fluster him with pressure from blitzes but Calgary was ready to bring in 6-7 to block and Meier didn't care just quick game behind it. Second half we went to more of a 4 man rush, maybe 5 sometimes with a DB or Bighill blitzing and they really did nothing other than pile up 2-3 first downs here and there and convert some second downs in their own end that we probably could have stopped to save field position. Generally we are a much better D when we go with the 4 man rush and drop 8, have that second level of D to force tougher throws and let our DL tee off.

Gauthier and Briggs have been fine. We got gashed when we ran everyone up into the line and when Bighill forgot how to run when we stuck him over center.

I agree with this. Lots of plays left out there, think more by our guys. Hamilton was awful, we played about 45 mins against the Argos here, 10 mins in Toronto and a half here. Would like to see it all come together. Even this game a couple plays made make it an easy win. I feel that Collaros and Buck are out of sync in terms of design of the passing game. Starting to see more downfield stuff in the 2nd half and that's what Collaros prefers. I think we need more playaction on first down, more rollouts, more run and shoot type scheme to cut down the reads and get the ball out downfield. If Collaros wants to sit in the pocket all night we are going to stall out. When did Lawler actually have possession and when was the touch. I see the touch but not sure it wasn't early. I think it's inconclusive at best.

Still waiting for a reverse angle on the Jorden "catch" at midfield. Have all day to take TD's off the board but can't take a look at that play?

Spear there on Collaros, remember they called that one last week? That's what a spear actually is and there's a 30 yard penalty with ejection for it on a QB.

Man if Jefferson wants to play DB why don't we put him on the corner? He's reading the QB eyes when he should be getting his hands in the passing lanes and moving in on him.

The only way we've got pressure tonight is rushing 4 and dropping 8. They just throw right around the blitz because we aren't playing zone behind it, we're sitting on top of routes. Why we started blitzing again on this drive when we've shut them out this half would be a great question for the coach if we had someone who asked these kind of questions.
