  1. Rosery is a great example of the lack of preparation here. Guy who got the most reps in pre-season games at tailback. Plays well. Gets cut. Chris-Ike likely will need to play some tailback tomorrow and no reps for him. We bring in a guy who wasn't in anyone's camp to chase kicks and maybe play some fullback. Watch him get injured tomorrow. All these guys busted up coming out of camp....so we didn't go hard to get ready for the season, and we have a half dozen guys on the 6 game. They really need to do some thinking on how to run an effective training camp. I expect a loss this week. Ottawa's season and home opener. We are still the franchise with the target on our backs. No one is having a let down against us.
  2. It's a sign to me that O'Shea is going to go down with this crew and won't be able to reset here. Kind of disappointing. Maybe they squeeze out another cup, but I don't think he'll win anything here with another QB. He'll be long gone.
  3. I'm not a huge fan of how our D is looking. It's like Younger is bringing the late stage 00's Argos with him. Tons of zone, not much pass rush.
  4. I think they'll be in 30 fronts a lot. They were last week. Major disappointment is the lack of edge guys. We will likely have very little in the way of pass rush which makes the entire defense weaker.
  5. I don't think he's very impactful. Rather keep the 3 we have on the roster. He just looks like a freak so he gets a lot of attention.
  6. Yeah drop off from a couple spots. But really Jefferson has always been a nice piece that you hope can create enough havoc on the downs he shows up to not kill you on the plays when he just completely does his own thing and not his job, runs right past the play giving a huge lane for QB to take off/step up, decides he has no interest in thinking about the possibility of a run. That's who he's been since the day he set foot in the league. My issue with him is that we've made him an every down player, we've tried to make him a leader and haven't realized he's a nice complimentary player, not a one man pass rush. Fajardo carved him up last week with the over pursuit. If I'm an OT I'd rest easy the week I'm facing Jefferson, especially now when we are looking weaker across the front. A guy like Orimolade would keep me up at night.
  7. I think they've lost their way. The advantage the 16-19 teams had was being better prepared and willing to play harder than opponents. Think of all the key special teams plays, the way they forced turnovers, the straight effort plays that won them games. Coming out of the pandemic year that has changed and back slid each year. The preparation isn't the same. They think they can show up and things will bounce their way. We get none of that anymore. It's whether Collaros and the receivers can make up for the overall **** ups in a given game, including their own. It's not really a sustainable way to win.
  8. He's older than Kenny Lawler.
  9. It's a nice thought but pulling guys off their couch is unlikely to yield any immediate results.
  10. ******* Ford needs to play a lot more. I think that's the big issue for him. Too bad he punted on last season, set himself back. I wouldn't be starting him (aka giving him all the reps at a corner spot) but I'd be getting his feet wet on D.
  11. I'd be in the same boat if the guy wasn't fumble ******* the ball all over the field on O in both preseason games, dropping passes. Seems like an issue for him in general. Designated Americans can too. Another reason why it's nuts to not just designate someone even if you're not going to fully utilize the rule.
  12. The worst players on the field were Mitchell and Ford by a long shot. Collaros does have to carry the team though. Guy like Demski makes an unforgivable and fatal mistake too.
  13. The real **** up with the backs was cutting Rosery. We could manage with him and Augustine. Guarantee if we flip to an American back (who isn't a DI) that we will have a Canadian DL on the field every single snap.
  14. They did have multiple American backs and Smith made the team aside from being injured.
  15. Well...if you're busting their nuts on other guys who started in other CFL camps you might as well do it on Janarion Grant too. Started in Hamilton's camp. I believe it is a major weak spot. Aside from Grant and maybe Kevin Fogg this personnel department over a decade have struggled greatly to find/coach someone up who can perform the basic tasks of a punt returner....secure the ball and get 10 yards. In terms of receiver I don't really know what they were going for this year but we had a ton of the 5'11 190 guys in camp. And that's basically who we have left. Hopefully they are fast because Collaros only goes vertical. Probably should be looking more for the Lawler body types.
  16. Yeah the compete level of training camp didn't align with being prepared for Game 1. They had 96 guys on the field 6 days before Game 1. Coaching staff and management might have to check their arrogance about how prepared they are soon.
  17. Inexperienced secondary. Similar stuff to what Montreal did to Ford. Grant just doesn't have the next gear the past couple seasons.
  18. Plus the 2 we signed today and whoever comes off for Bighill.
  19. Both these teams look pretty awful on D IMO. BC has no pass rush which was basically what they relied on last year. Toronto has a decent DL and McManis but the secondary looking kind of suspect.
  20. Weird ******* fumble.
  21. Wonder what it will take to get teams to go for 2 point conversions more regularly. The conversion rate on 1 pt PAT's this week has been pretty bad. 3 Argos run at a guy on a 2 yard out and leave 3 Lions running GO routes all alone. Janarion has no wheels. Works hard for those last two yards though.
  22. Both ACL's and hip. Not sure VAJ is going to survive this game. Getting crushed repeatedly.
  23. VAJ taking a pounding in short yardage. BC listed 9 Canadians as "starters" on depth chart, 4 on D. 2 have to be on field at all times.
