The hallmark of that D is preventing the deep ball. Currently we are so confused in coverage and getting torched by deep ball. On rewatch there's a bunch of plays to the boundary where Bonds locks in, stops his feet, and starts waving like "someone save my ass because I made the wrong read." BC really did a great job of showing screen/hitch/other quick stuff then resetting. Bonds got sucked in a lot. They didn't go after Ford much at all in comparison to Montreal and Ottawa. We could really use a couple vet CFL DB's that have some tread left. Alexander is a complete disaster out there physically, Bridges is super scared of the deep stuff so when teams flood zones he's always vacating deep, even chasing routes down the middle in cover 3 when he's on the flank, leaving a ton of space 20 yards in. This secondary will lose us games if our offense isn't going to score 30. Pass rush is doing almost nothing as well which doesn't help matters. Fayad looks good, Hubert looks useful. Jefferson needs to be more engaged, have no use for him running as a spy or 3-4 style rush LB as they were doing at times last night with 3 DT's on field.

I'd argue we are getting gashed. Just that no one really commits to the run in this era. It's 6-7 yards a play on us if they do.

Zone is a hell of a lot harder to play effectively and requires a lot of coordination between a bunch of guys who hardly have any reps together.

My gripe with offensive play calling tonight....they once ran a zone read look with Streveler and Oliviera which Oliviera busted for his biggest gain. And then we never saw it again. Hit that hard until BC shows they can manage it at all. Especially when you're down probably our 2 best American receivers we started the game with. When that gets rolling stick with it for a whole series, wear the defense out. 1st and 10 from BC 17 in 4th quarter. Run that zone read/RPO package. Instead we throw a 2 yard flat to Demski then have Wilson drop the next pass. Kind of crazy too he's so worried about setting BC up for points there if they don't get it but also chose to not take 3 points at the end of the half or to play with more tempo there to give them a better chance at 7. If you have faith in the D keep your offense out for 3rd and 6 then the D can hold them to a FG and you still have a shot to drive for a TD to win....if you don't get the 3rd and 6 to keep that drive going. Keep O'Shea out of the casino...not sure he has a firm grasp on probability.

Younger, younger and old. We have almost no one in their CFL prime on our D. Maybe Nichols and Holm. Would have been nice to grab a guy or two in free agency to freshen up the group.

Nah it's way too obvious what he's going to call in a given situation. He's either blitzing heavy or dropping 9 out and it's not disguised at all. This D needs an incredible amount of work. Likely going to be giving up 300+ yards passing every week on this trend.

This Younger D will either pay off in the end or continue to implode. Have never seen so many guys running free through 9 dropped, basically double layer of Cover 3.

Alexander just needs to let him run it in. How is a vet so inept? Our only chance to win this game is if they score the TD there.

Not really sure Younger or anyone on the field know what they are going for on a given play. Not getting pressure or coverage. Just giving up a free first down every play.

Alexander doesn't even have the presence of mind to get on him and get him out of bounds to at least save some time. Just watch him **** around and then drop down in bounds.

Alexander has no hope to run with these receivers.
