  1. If you watched the game, you saw the defence change completely in the 2nd half. They came out, attacked and got 7 Sacks. I guess being behind at half-time at home lit a fire under them. And if anything, it disproves the common "you just can't turn it on and off" theory that was bandied about.
  2. For just offence, we've traded the lead back and forth with Winnipeg all season. For total points it's us. Home game. Wanted to be 9-0. Still sat some guys and hid the playbook (until the second half when Coach Mace decided he'd had enough BS and when on kill-mode). Yup.
  3. Our offence played very sub par (settled for 6 FGs from Bede) and we still put up 40. The defence went up a gear in the 2nd half and defended our perfect home record. Wild freaking stats: -16 straight games of having better starting field position than opposition. -our offence has fewer plays than every other team but we have scored more points than anybody.
  4. We've some injuries at receiver (Gittens, Phillips, Johnson) so adding Agudosi gives us cover. Hasn't lived up to his stature yet. By his measureables he's a freak, but he obviously hasn't caught on anywhere and seems to have been a numbers-game or cap casualty so far in his career. Huge extension signed for the Boatmen. I was 100% sure we were losing him this off season. TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club announced today they have extended the contract of Defensive Coordinator Corey Mace. Mace, in his second season coaching the Argos defence, has led a unit that leads the CFL in sacks (54), interceptions (22),turnovers (42), opponent big plays (20, seven better than second place), opponent rush yards (79.6), is second in offensive points allowed (20.2) and opponents yards/play (5.98) while ranking third in offensive touchdowns allowed (31). The British Columbia native joined the Boatmen at the start of 2022, saw three of his players become Division All-Stars, and was integral in helping the Argonauts capture their 18th Grey Cup championship in November. Read it, and Hogans article on it here: https://www.argonauts.ca/2023/10/13/double-blue-extend-contract-of-defensive-coordinator-corey-mace/
  5. Having the 150th birthday party, having all of the legends come home to celebrate, having the decade by decade recaps on the screen, having it be in a game with no stakes or tension so we could just enjoy the fun, having it happen when we are Champions and have a real shot at doing it again... Sincere wish: I hope you guys can feel this in 2030 for your 100th. It was special. Side note: went down to a county fair near Lake Erie today with my SO as it's her family Thanksgiving tradition. It is definitely TiCat country down there and I was wearing a bright Cambridge blue Argo hoodie to represent. No TiCat fans said a thing to me, and there were quite a few out. But do you know who did chirp at me? A Sask fan in a Rider hockey jersey (that looked like it was bought on Wish...) who made it a point to step in front of me and inform me of how the Argos suck. I asked if he'd like to trade records or Grey Cup totals with us. He made a face like he was attempting to mentally do really hard differential calculus.
  6. Congrats on a big comeback win. Great for you guys to have that to pull off just when the season is getting real. Looking like the Western road to the Grey Cup is going through IG Field.
  7. You could rightly say they're overpriced... but bad? Nah. (everything else was fair though... except the part about wishing they lived in Hamilton... nobody wishes that, most of all the poor benighted souls who do live there) Sure... but I'm at work on a Friday before a long weekend. I've given all of my employees their assignments and busy-work for the day... So my brain is in Friday Night Football mode (and dreading the commute down to BMO).
  8. Can't bring me down today! Especially since I'm wearing my lucky Map Of Toronto Argo Shirt!
  9. I appreciate it! Fun fact: The Toronto Argonauts were founded 8 years prior to the gunfight at the OK Corral!
  10. Friday Night Football! LFG! Argos 150th birthday party on a rainy night at the lake. Coming home to celebrate are: Condredge Holloway, Damon Allen, Ricky Ray, Pinball, Rocket, Mookie and Terry Freakin Greer! And the Flyin' Hawaiian will sign a 1-day deal to retire an Argonaut! Youse guys have fun on the West Coast tonight! Hopefully I'm home in time to catch the ending. Wooooooo!
  11. BC is tough at home. We'll see whether Vernon shows up or not. To me, his play (or the Bombers disrupting it) will be the decisive factor. "Hey Vern, you in there?"
  12. It had to have informed his decision process. Had to. I'd bet that losing that game in 2007 in part, made Dinwiddie the man that he is. Last Friday won't be the last game he gives to the backups this season. (Won't be doing it this Friday at home though because of the celebration)
  13. I agree. That's likely why the Argos didn't play "to not stop the run". I feel like the difference between "not scheming to stop a specific threat" and "totally abdicating defensive responsibility" ought to be an easy distinction for most people to get? (and an obvious one for anyone who watched on Friday)
  14. Which is likely why nobody suggested it.
  15. Do we know if Twisted Tea has the contract to be the HT sponsor for next year? I'm inclined to hope they do. Seems like after last year's dud, they knew that they needed to step up.
  16. Ya say this but... You've now put yourself in the spot where a "fragile" team may possibly go back to back on you. You really shouldn't let your mouth write that cheque.
  17. I thought Kravitz was the best GC HT I've seen, Came out. Turned it up to 11. Kicked ass. Walked off with a wave. As for getting Green Day (having already got Carrie Underwood for Friday), this is a pretty big time lineup. Twisted Tea really upgraded this year.
  18. It basically looked like they played it "straight up".
  19. Not at all. They were trying, and Brinkman looked properly worn out in the 4th. But if you can look back at the game and see any run blitzes or the schemes we usually have, then your eyes are better than mine.
  20. FWIW, Lawler faced Qwan'tez Stiggers on Friday and the youngster did very well against him. Held him to 3 grabs and got a pick on him. Stiggers had never played Boundary before. He is 21, never played college ball. Never saw the CFL before training camp. Not a chance we get to keep this kid next year.
