Bombers bringing back Willie Jefferson
Darvin could drop every single pass thrown his way next year and I will still forever respect him for the way he played and carried himself in a year where we won the Grey Cup.

Plus if he's good, we can say "Riders don't even know how to make proper use of quality players" and if he sucks, we can say "wow this bum started in Saskatchewan? how embarrassing for them"

Bombers sign Tobi Antigha ... I really like that a lot. He’s a perfect DI candidate and Richie will love his versatility

I read that pass knockdown nonsense too. Cripes.

2019-20 CFL Offseason
Fair comment for sure - if we sign nobody because there’s no room, I’m sure we could make sense of it but if we all of a sudden sign Derel Walker, I wouldn’t be waiting for the release that was now necessary either.

2019-20 CFL Offseason
Sayles and Rios were on entry deals - technically costs us 22k in 2020 to replace them and I’d be surprised if Roh, Gaitor and Nevis were making more than 100k (believe it was reported than Nevis was about 90k) Kongbo, Rose and Derek Jones probably gave us some savings. Would imagine Johnson took Fenner’s salary.

We also lost hardly anybody. Hamilton lost quite a few pieces. We lost a backup QB, a first round draft pick salary and a corner in terms of significant costs. And don’t forget, even teams with first rounders this year don’t have to budget for those. They’re league minimum now.

Yeah I mean Medlock at 180k or whatever it is + 65k minimum is still more expensive than 120k each on a punter and kicker and if you’re paying that much for both ... why?

Could be, the tweets are always speculative at best anyways.

I can’t see Josh Johnson making less than 100k. Despite him not being known to us as a familiar name guy, he’s a big ticket player ... veteran who’s spent time in the NFL and played well in the CFL. I think most of us would be uncomfortable with what he’s getting paid. Harris being a value for what he provides still doesn’t discount that he’s making over 200k. We have two of the five most expensive defensive players in the league, including the most expensive. Our OL has to be the highest paid in the league. I do agree we have money, but we’ve spent in a lot of places people forget about.- 2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.
He was making 200k last year, according to literally every source I’ve seen. Where is the 165k number coming from?- 2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.
I dunno, I just think we’re overstating how much money other teams spend and understating how much we spend. Look at the line of thinking: “Wilson on his second deal .. maybe 100k, Howsare on his second deal ... at least 100-120k” ... what’s the difference in these two guys? Not everyone is taking a haircut to be here.- 2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.
You’re suggesting Bryant took a 20% pay cut to come back this season?- 2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.
Demski made $150,000 in his first year here and then re-signed after a solid season. No way.- 2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.
90, 85, league minimum (Mike Jones?), 130, 75, 120 American salaries are tough for sure. Also forget what contract Wilson is on.- 2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.
Yeah, I’d personally be quite surprised if either one of Couture or Neufeld were under 160k, same reason Woli and Demski get paid around the same - Canadian starters who fit your system get PAID. I personally would assume Miller and Rempel, as high level specialists, make between 100k-125k each. Lots of sneaky money on our roster, not to mention 5.3 (or whatever the number is) may be the cap but it’s not what the Bombers spend. They’ve always been conservative in holding back for potential injury situations- 2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.
I’m curious, because I want to see where people come in on these things? What do you think Neufeld, Mike Miller, Jake Thomas, Rempel and Jesse Briggs make a piece? - 2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.
