Bombers at Argos early chat
Why do I have the feeling that despite being incredibly beat up along the offensive line Toronto will still manhandle our front 7.

Griffin routinely takes defensive reps.

Would Ford be interested in changing positions because there's no way I'm hanging my hat on his future as a QB. He's one hell of an athlete but there's a reason he's (one again) battling to hold onto the reins of the offense in Edmonton.

3 turds plus cranky honker don’t say roster management edition
I'll agree that his decision making process has to speed up. From just watching that play unfold I have to believe Demski was the primary receiver (who was bracketed) or Sterns running to the corner. Strev needs to come off that read quicker. If he fires the ball to the pilon while he's in the pocket, it's likely a reception and a TD. He was run down (and ear holed) by a linebacker (not a DL) but if Strev was truly confident in that knee of his, he probably would have planted a foot in the ground and turned it upfield once he broke contain and picked up a few yards making it all moot. Strev didn't 'lose like 15 yards' either - really irrelevant addition. Receiver was more concerned with making a TD grab vs securing a reception. Come back and down. Be aware. The INT doesn't happen. It still doesn't discount the fact the DB simply made a really good play. At the end of the day, you're right, they have to execute .. whether it's running the ball or making those decisions / throws quicker.

We've seen what we have in him .. it's not much. Artopoeus showed more in preseason than Wilson did all of last year (and in camp / preseason this year).

The throw was fine but Strev left it a little inside (understandable throwing on the run across his body) which allowed the DB to make a great play on the ball. Had Strev missed outside or the receiver stepped down / in that INT doesn't happen. Greene just made a GREAT play on the ball. Strev gets the blame because he threw the ball but situationally (backup QB, down and distance, location on the field etc) Hogan *has* to share in some of this as does the receiver who has be aware of what's going on around him. It could all have been avoided by just running the ball .. giving it to Brady .. letting Strev roll with it .. hammering a Calgary defense who ranks in the bottom third of run defense.

I said this earlier in this thread (or another one): it wasn't a bad decision to throw that ball but he needed to "miss" outside and not inside (even still, Strev did a helluva job getting it out there while on the run). It was first and goal at the 7. In my mind, this was three down territory ... run the damn ball. Hogan wears the horns on this one as much as anyone.

GDT - Bombers vs Stampers
Height had nothing to do with Bridges / Bonds repeatedly taking a dump in their shorts.

Even though we are a salty bunch as of late, we *do* appreciate you taking the time to share with us DT - thank you!

It’s showings like this that cost the club A LOT of good will.

GDT - Bombers vs Stampers
Even the INT he threw in the third wasn’t a terrible decision but, if he makes that throw he has to miss outside and not make it easier for the DB driving on the ball. Strev puts it on the pylon or if the WR works back a bit more, that interception doesn’t happen. I’m also not going to discount the fact that Greene made on helluva play and sometimes **** like that happens. Yesterday was an uphill battle for whomever was in at QB. Too much juggling on the offensive line and a receiving corps that lacks a legitimate difference maker. Even Collaros started to just zero in on Demski (who, for as much as I love the guy, isn’t striking fear into anyone). It was clear from the outset that Calgary had ZERO respect for the offense and weren’t threatened at all.

Bridges is ******* awful.

Lawler is what he is - his game hasn't changed. What has changed is he has a QB (and an offense) that can feed him the ball.

2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season
It's one thing to bet on games you had no direct influence on. It's something entirely different to bet on games you were actively involved in and had a hand in the outcome of - it calls into question the integrity of the game and the league. Terrible decision.

He obviously feels he can still play .. that conversation would likely have been a non-starter.

To be fair, that was like 67 years ago. Medical science and treatment has improved since then 😉

HAM TOR feat. AI slop
Did I say Toronto was a good team or even great team?
-
HAM TOR feat. AI slop
In a league this small, the difference between good teams and great teams comes down to the guys who are legitimate difference makers and who has more of them. Grant is a difference maker and we let him walk.

I’ll say it: Bo throws better ball than Zach at this stage of their respective careers. Also .. Lawler is a better receiver than anyone on our current roster.

3 goats and crappy honker stupid bowl
Why? Parker has made a few plays but he hasn't been lights out by any stretch. He's also a big part of why the secondary has struggled (lack of communication, broken coverages etc). I honestly think he would be more effective (and look better) playing the corner next to Holm. I also recognize that it's still early in the season and we went through similar growing pains last year as a result of changes in the secondary.

Which is ironic as they were playing him at the line of scrimmage a fair bit last night.

Outside of run blocking (and Calgary is in the bottom third of run defense), I thought line play was terrible. Neufeld getting completely turned around .. Randolph giving up that late sack that nearly got Streveler killed .. Kolo being dog walked .. is not emblematic of good line play. Even Bryant's play is falling off but that may be more a sign that the unit as a whole struggling vs. Big Stan in isolation (though I do think he's no longer the premier tackle he used to be). That said .. I do think Vanterpool / Wallace are upgrades over Dobson (who I never thought lived up to expectation). Randolph over Lofton feels like addition by subtraction (though Randolph hasn't exactly lit the world on fire).

3 goats and crappy honker stupid bowl
I stopped listening to the coach's show a long time ago .. basically a bunch of non-answers and folks rambling / asking nonsensical questions. There's nothing of value that comes out of it. The defense (objectively) wasn't good last night. Poor tackling. Poor communication. Poor execution all around. It doesn't help that Zach threw two touchdown for the other team but the defence did *nothing* to help the cause last night.

Bombers at Stumps GDT
He either made a business decision on the one throw Zach tossed late (and it got him sat) or he came down funny and tweaked something. I lean toward him tweaking something but he hasn’t been in since.
