  1. So, they're chosen as all stars, and can't find the oomph to try and win the game for the charity of their choice, in what will be a fun game of 3 on 3? Was there money involved in the all-star games before? Other than to their pensions? Money shouldn't be the incentive. But that's just me. No money wasn't involved before. Not even to their pensions. No one gets paid for it, it is something they have to do per their contracts. I'm pretty sure they get a bunch of "gifts" and shwag throughout the weekend, but I don't believe there was any money prior to this year. Have you watched an all star game recently? You can talk about what they "should" do but they don't. It is boring hockey because it is a meaningless game and no one wants to get hurt in a meaningless game. And even with money on the line, it probably will still not change anything. But you asked why not give the money to charity, and the rational for the money was to put something on the line for the players so they "try". Truth be told I wouldn't care if they cancelled the all star game all together. Probably won't watch it regardless,
  2. The point of the million is to put something on the line for the players so the game means something and they actually try. However, it would be nice if the players stepped up and decided to donate it themselves.
  3. Halischuk is still down with the Moose. I'd argue Lipon is ready for a shot. He is the perfect 4th liner. And while currently injured, I'd like to see Raffl get his shot.
  4. It is interesting that the Jets have been preaching a draft and develop model, Chevy often talked about "over-ripening" players in the AHL. But this is not happening. It did with maybe Chiarot, and it is with Morrissey. Now you look at who is on the Jets this year Ehlers - never played in the AHL, Copp - Never played in the AHL, Petan - Never played in the AHL. Now of course Ehlers would have had to of gone back to juniors if he wasn't playing for the Jets, so I'm fine with him being on the team, but how many young rookies can you really absorb and not experience what we are right now. You have to start to wonder if we didn't do The Jets, The Moose, as well as Copp and Petan a disservice by not re-signing players like Stempniak and Tlusty and letting them "ripen" in the AHL.

  6. The hacker group Anonymous has declared war on ISIS. http://bgr.com/2015/11/17/anonymous-hackers-isis-terrorist/ http://www.youngcons.com/anonymous-launches-war-on-isis-delivers-first-blow-over-paris-attacks/ So far it seems the only thing they have been able to do is hijack some of their Twitter accounts which ISIS says isn't a big deal and they are way out of their league. Anonymous claims it is only the start and the Twitter accounts were hacked because they are used as a recruiting tool.
  7. There you go, ya hoser.
  8. Dat would be the record completion percentage in 2005, Bob! That and his stupid ******* facial hair choices and his giant dumbo ears... he just looks like someone you'd want to punch right in the face. I don't agree with wanting to punch Jason Maas in the face, but I understand the sentiment. Every time I see Taylor Hall all I can think is he looks like someone who needs to be punched in the face. This is getting a bit off topic now, but I think everyone has those people they just want to hit for no real good reason. For those of you that watch The Walking Dead and have ever caught their "Talking Dead" show afterward, that host does it for me. Just want to knock him out with a good upper cut.
  9. Yikes. Is Hutch going to get pulled in this game as well? This team is falling fast. Here comes another penalty.....
  10. When they see Winnipeg's season ticket count drop dramatically next year, do you think the league will have a vested interest in hyping the Bombers?
  11. This thread is hanging on a thread before being locked if people can't post respectfully.
  12. Please don't make posts about which specific posters you have on ignore. This really serves no purpose other than trying to call that poster out, especially when you have them on ignore for any response they might have. This is how threads get off the rails and get locked. There is no positive response that possibly can come from that. If you choose to ignore a poster, great, that is why the functionality is there. There is no need to advertise it.
  13. Down to three more games and one pick still separates 1st and 2nd place. Blueandgold has 56 correct picks and saskbluefan has 55. Leaderboard can be seen here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=leaderboard&pid=6&wid=91 This weeks picks need to be in by Sunday at noon. 15. Please leave the personal attacks out of the discussion.
  16. This team is all kinds of bad.
  17. I don't think anyone wants Brohm back next year. Regardless of what Walters says in a press conference, proof will be if he brings Brohm back next year. If he does, then I agree we have a problem.
  18. 19. If wishes and buts were candies and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas. Pretty much every team with the exception of Ottawa had their starter go down. Look back over the last number of years. In today's CFL, it is highly unlikely your starting QB is going to play all 18 games, so what is the point of even hypothesizing what would would happen if he were healthy. Chances are Willy will miss a number of games next year too. Now perhaps the QB depth is a failing of Walters and the scouting staff, but I don't think losing a starting QB can be an excuse any more. Every team has to deal with it.
  20. Race is tightening up for the playoffs. With 5 games left. Blueandgold is one pick ahead of saskbluefan. Leaderboard can be seen here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=leaderboard&pid=6&wid=90 Picks for next week need to be in by Sunday at noon. Picks can be made here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=6&wid=91
  21. You can't be serious with this post. He kept 2 people on that he knew couldn't do the job, so that he could have them around to fire , to save his job? There is no list. At least one that were aware of, so you don't know if other team's coordinators are, or aren't, on this list/no list. You seriously think that he'd still be around now if he'd fired Tracey and MB last year and still had a similar record? The other alternative is that he actually thought those two coordinators were good at their jobs, which brings his ability to tell good from bad into question. The list I'm talking about is the names that the fans and media have been putting together. PLAP, Buck, Khari, Howell, etc... Better choices would be Brady, Condell, Cortez. Guys who have options who we'd have to pay more and who would want to move to get a shot at a HC job and/or to get out from the shadow of good HC's. I doubt O'Shea would want to pick one of them though because they would all be better choices for the HC job too. This question has nothing to do with claiming a coach is keeping coaches on to protect himself from being fired. O'Shea was on H&L yesterday and was asked if he would offer someone an associate HC position to attract the right person (no names mentioned because they would all still be under contract and likely in playoff hunts) his answer was unequivocally yes. He even went on to say that one of the things he views as his responsibility is the long term stability of the club and that means bringing in the right personnel for that.
  22. Yep, I think that impact is one of the things he wants to review.
