Arbuckle in 15 games was 365/504 with 4370 yards and 26/15 In Kellys MOP season in 18 games he was 270/394 for 4123 yards and 23/12 Only real difference between the two stats wise is Team wins and Kelly also ran the short offense and has a bit more mobility. There really wasn't much of a drop off between Kelly and Arbuckle

If Toronto is looking for a replacement I know a real up-and-coming offensive co-ordinator that might fit.

Does Grey Cup 2025 news now officially fall under 'Non-Bombers'? Grey Cup game officially is sold out https://3downnation.com/2025/11/04/112th-grey-cup-in-winnipeg-has-officially-sold-out/

I have no idea who has the best shot out of the West because all the QBs have been so unclutch in the West Finals the last 3 years. Each of the 3 played against the Bombers in Winnipeg 2024 - Trever Harris - 25/44 1/0 283 Yards 2023 - VAJ - 13/26 1/3 221 yards 2022 - Rourke - 20/37 1/2 300 yards Harris probably had the best stat line but his team lost by the most points. Rourke was apparently still somewhat injured in 2022 but executed perhaps the worst game-ending drive I've ever watched.

Yeah the fumble sucked but that was still what his... 8th touch of the game? If the defense remembers they can't touch a QBs facemask they are still only a touchdown down. Defense can't stay off the field, 36 minutes of offense for Monteral is nuts, Brady can't get any rhythm going... although it looks like they gameplanned him out themselves anyways.
-
Because that ended up standing as a play, that meant that the Reigning MOP/MOC, who was 2nd in the league in Yards from Scrimmage despite missing 3.9 games, had 8 more touches on offense than the starting Left Guard.

The one name that maybe fits the "sick of Bombers BS" is maybe Jackson Jeffcoat? Or maybe Geoff Gray? Maybe Darvin Adams? Almost everyone else seems like an obvious case of leaving for money (Dobson, Whitehead, Houston, Castillo, Lawler x2, Ford, Brown) or players the Bombers were clear they were moving on from (Harris, Bighill, Bailey, Wolitarski, Augustine). There is also that strange subset of players that were flawed (injury prone) that the bombers maybe waited too long on and then left (Grant, might include Jackson in here). Maybe some of the fringe players who have cycled through the Bombers and then became fringe players elsewhere might count ( the Fox's and Garbutt's of the world) but if they were disgruntled probably why they ended up as a fringe player elsewhere

So wtf happens if Brady gets dinged or Demski can't make it work?!?

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

MOC for sure. I think narrative wise he might be a bit behind Bo. Bo had marginally better stats, took better care of the ball, a bit better team success. Was the finalist last year trying to drag a terrible team to the playoffs. -
Hopefully the league takes a look and takes appropriate action if any of those allegations are substantiated.

It's funny that there is an entire cohort of CFL players who dont know anything but the Blue Bombers making the Grey Cup. Most teams are only going to have single digit players who have been in the league more then 5 years.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

This happens every year across every sport, I'm not sure why people are confused. The people who are voting are going to more or less looking at the box score. There are 2 riders with plenty of picks, they make it to the list even though they both didn't play a chunk of the season. The is one Bombers on the list, despite the Bombers secondary being top of the west in most metrics (other than picks) -
The CFL.ca storylines article made me chuckle today https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/28/3-storylines-to-watch-in-the-eastern-semi-final-3/ The difference between #1 Winnipeg and #2 Montreal is 6.3%. The difference between #2 Montreal and #9 Toronto is 3.9%

https://3downnation.com/2025/10/26/montreal-alouettes-lose-game-key-players-before-playoff-rematch-with-bombers-seven-thoughts/ So a few key players didn't finish the game, I imagine anyone who picked up a ding no matter how minor probably got to ride pine though

This is standard language and terms in pretty much every major sports league. Teams want control over the players they draft and develop and have them being somewhat cost controlled. This is actually LESS onerous than most other leagues. NHL is 3 years and then restricted free agency. NBA is 2 years plus 2 years of team options then restricted free agency. NFL is 4 years then a team option I think (3 years if undrafted). MLB is the king of cost-controlling players, I don't think most players make their debut in the majors until their mid twenties, and then there is all kinds of weird rules and arbitrations... I think average age of hitting unrestricted free agency in baseball is something ridiculous like 32. NFL used to have unlimited contract value on their rookies, but teams pushed back on having their first overall picks being their highest paid players.
-
What is the status of the Als roster right now? Seemed like during the game every second play they were taking an injury timeout. Hard to judge injuries from inside the stands though
-
Is there any mechanism in the CBA to allow Elgersma to get anything other than the standard ELC out of the Bombers? Maybe some additional marketing money? I think there was some confusion with Rourke and his contract coming back from the NFL because the standard rookie contract is 2 years + a team option... so in theory BC could have paid him a pittance when he came back but obviously that was never going to happen. I guess this is the relevant piece of the CBA here
-
How much would a thrice benched 28 year old QB command on the open market? I wonder if the Bombers might be forced to do something with Hogan. Jackson was interim coach in Edmonton and obviously QB coach is a big step back. I would imagine if he doesn't get a promotion he would be a candidate in at least Ottawa for the HC or OC gig
-
I think this win means the only person who has more wins with a single team than O'Shea is Buono, who had more with both the Stamps and the Lions
-
I was talking about essentially punting this game and choosing to cross over and play Montreal at home in the playoffs!
-
Maybe the Bombers are hoping for a game in Montreal and the wind is like the end of the game of the final game last season and they hope to just pound the ball with Brady and Streveler for 300 yards or so
-
so dumb The worst part about this is that the Bombers will pull a rabbit out of their ass and somehow win with Streveler having -70 net passing yards or something ridiculous and the riff raff will come out and be like 'bUt StReVeLeR jUsT wInS gAmEs'
-
Looks like the Bombers are going to get their sellout. About 30 tickets left to purchase on ticketmaster. Should be a nice day for football, about 13 at kickoff but a bit windy. I'm just happy because mercifully my kid's soccer tournament didn't schedule her a game on Saturday. FWIW I think you need to go out there and play a full game. I get wanting to keep people healthy or playing for a matchup, but the reality is they haven't played really well in a month... and then even before that back in August. They are on a stretch of 4-4... that first win was against an injured Als team and then you have the 3 pass win against Ottawa, you smoke the Ti-Cats and then barely limp to a win against the B-Squad Riders. They need string 3 good games in a row which they haven't done since the start of the season... might as well make it 4 and start it on Saturday.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

This is the nominations for the year end awards 'Lifetime achievement award' because... who else on you gonna pick on the line this year. I don't think anyone is going to argue that Bryant has any business being in any Most Outstanding Lineman discussion this year Brady is the right pick here. Leading the league in Yards from Scrimmage despite missing 2 full games and all but a single drive in another. Demski is a nice sentimental pick but just barely broke 1000 yards on the season -

Big Stan with the lifetime achievement award. Kind of surprised Holm got the defensive nom, voters always seem to love stats and Jones has a ton of tackles... I also laugh everytime I see the PFF article on 3downNation and see Willie's ridiculous 99.0 score way at the top of the list. I think Vaval has a good shot to make it out of the the West in both categories, but that will be the only Bomber there. Im suprised that Alexander got the MOP nom for the Als starting for only 7 games... that must be some kind of record, he's not even eligible for the passing leaders.
