Wow, Edmonton’s got kind of a killer DL, even before adding Rage Pee Leonard. I hope we see more of the quick/ball control stuff, this is not the game to keep Zach sitting in the pocket. Still don’t see what they do in Haba. Still don’t see why Adams is on the PR. Good thing Leake is still out but Kevin Brown is no slouch either. Gonna be a couple tight games.

That team should have won a championship. It’s such a shame, because the 02 team was actually more talented than 2001. IIRC Stegall broke his collarbone in the WSF, Roberts got hurt at the beginning of the WF and they had to finish the final without either of them. Still almost pulled off a comeback after being down 28 or so. Edmonton was keying on Sellers and Bruce, Khari was throwing to guys like Geoff Drover. Just a brutal loss.

Here’s the time he ran all over the Riders. In the top 5 fun games I’ve attended for sure. 30 km winds..nobody could do anything all game except Sellers, until Khari hit Stegall on a TD bomb to win it late in the 4th.

Sellers scores a TD in that game and does a subtle crotch chop to the Sask crowd.

I liked Case as a WR in preseason too, just think Smith seemed a better returner, and presumably more versatile in what he can do with O reps. I just think we could use a spark on punt returns. Lucky’s been decent I guess, just nothing special.

Is Smith still hurt? I’d rather see him get another shot before Case. I think Smith is a little more explosive as a returner, and could theoretically spell at SB or RB a la Greg MacRae

Griffen is another under the radar, Nick Taylor type signing. Walters and the front office have been in a relative rough patch but Griffen and Jones were huge pickups.

Watching film too, the report says he doesn’t make sound decisions in the 2nd level. Really sounds like just a big body who isn’t particularly good at anything.

As early as his first Training Camp guys like Florio and Chris Simms were touting him hard.

I’d give Dolebananna or Cornelius a cup of coffee at least. Corny first probably, behind our line would probably have more value. I still think if they’re going to trade for anyone it should be Dustin Crum. He can run SY and most if not all of what they had Strev do. Plus, I mean, we’ve seen him win a game or 2 behind a bad oline. Ottawa’s not giving up Masoli I wouldn’t think, but I’m sure we could pry Crum away for a second/third rounder and maybe a guy like Bridges or Cole.

Your point is totally valid, don’t get me wrong but Mahomes was pretty well known to be the next big thing, even when he was behind Alex Smith. Lamar Jackson would be a better example, teams were still trying to draft him as a WR.

That was the excuse for Kelvin McKnight and Tavares Harrison being on too though.

Also different body types being used as NFL QBs now. In the 90s a guy like Kyler Murray would have been up here. On the other side too, a Tracy Ham would rip it up in todays NFL .
