LOL that the end of the first half is 'garbage time'...

Game was tied at the beginning of the 4th... that is the opposite of garbage time - MBT didn't 'beat' us but he did enough...

No one is saying MBT is a great QB but I do think he's out best placeholder until Streveler is ready

I certainly want Streveler to succeed but if MBT is to be our placeholder till he's ready, I think MBT better be up for a long ride.  Streveler has a LONG way to go before he can carry this or any other team.  He has good qualities and has proved that he can be an asset, but he also  has a ton to learn.

I will never understand the "sexy" factor to fans being the end-all be-all. Nichols has come here and been a winner. Period. Brought the Bombers back not only to respectability but to the top of the West before he got hurt. If you want to diss him, go after his injury history. But people think that this team doesn't follow him and that he doesn't inspire? They were 7-2 and on top of the league with him, FFS!!!! Didn't see any malingerers on the team when he was running the ship. But Big Chris inspires - yeah, all the way to a 4-8 record as a starter the last 2 years.

I think people here would fall all over Trevor Harris and his big yardage numbers and not consider that he is sub-.500 as a starter. I swear, if the internet existed when Tom Clements was QB here he would have been run out of town for being too boring and not putting the team on his back with his 3600 yard passing and 24 TDs, oh no don't look at his Grey Cup ring, he's not exciting enough.

    This is right on.

People always want something shiny and new.  They see only the good things in "the new guy"  Then they soon become jaded and look for flaws.   Then it is on to the next new guy.

I'm totally thrilled and happy with the play of Collaros.  It's great that he has ;taken the reins and led us to the Cup.  He's got a different skill set from Nichols, but let us not forget that Matt Nichols had the team going in top gear before he was injured.  We should not forget the good things he did early in this season and previously, even at times when he did not have a great team behind him.

Surely, now that we have made it to the party, we can simply enjoy the ride.  Both Collaros and Nichols helped to get us here.  Good on them!!

  3. I would be shocked if the quarterback did NOT have the option to go with the sweep or pull the ball himself in the situation you describe.   Surely he must have that option, especially when he can see at the last minute what the defence is doing.  That is also why we need to be careful about calling out Lapo when something does not work.  Yesterday several people were complaining about us throwing a five yard pass just over the line of scrimmage on second down when we needed ten for a first down.  On that play, it could be clearly seen that the QB checked the other receivers who had gone deeper.  Given that they were covered, he had the good sense to drop the ball off to avoid a sack.   I'm sure the OC was hoping that a longer pass would have been on but, given that it was not, the right decision was made.  It was good to have that shorter option built into the play.    It could have been more productive, just not that time.  There is always another team on the field, and sometimes our best offensive work will not be run well enough to beat them.  I think Lapo does a good job and if you would like to check with the Sask fans, they would love to have him instead of Mc Adoo.

  4. Under normal conditions, every punter would like to pin the opposition deep in their end as opposed to getting a single point.  (Unless it is late in a tied game or something like that)  But the single that Medlock kicked, played a minor part in the victory.  Had the difference been six and not seven points, the Green Slime would have had the option of going for field goals on some of their late game forays into Bomber territory and two FGs would have tied the game.    Would they have opted for that?  We'll never know but that single point took the decision out of their hands.
