  1. Good luck to you, Paul, and thanks for all the hard work and the great memories. Hoping you every success in Ottawa except when you're playing us. 🙂
  2. and a hell of a bargain at that price.
  3. That's what Pierce is for and I suspect Buck will be given a larger role in the design and implementation of the offense next year. Agree with everything you've said here. BTW, during the Grey Cup game, I saw Streveler get chased out of the pocket, roll out to his right, and drop the ball into a spot near the sideline where Lawler was working his way back to Streveler and they made a perfect throw and catch to extend a drive. I then saw Streveler stand tall in the pocket and follow that up with a perfect 25 yard strike to Andrew Harris straight down the middle of the field that was an indefensible bang-bang play that was executed to perfection. All done on a bum leg. He is well on his way to becoming exactly the kind of QB you have described even with Lapo as his OC.
  4. I saw at least two things that were different this year from last year. One, Richie Hall's defense became less predictable and more diverse as the season went on and, two, Mike O'Shea lost some of that rigid stubbornness that he is known for and handled his roster much better. It's Lapo's turn to make the adjustment.
  5. I'd give this post 5 stars if I could. What I saw from Streveler is a young man willing to put in the work necessary to become an elite player in this league. I believe that he will indeed work and study and develop his ability to read CFL defenses and to understand all the fine nuances of the position of QB. To me, he's a bigger, stronger, and more durable Matt Dunigan.
  6. O'Shea definitely gets that it's the players who risk their physical health and go out there and play a violent sport at a high level to win that damned championship. Yes he played a role but at the end of the day, it's all about the players, and that is why they are worth every single penny they are paid to play this game. I remember Scotty Bowman putting on his skates and going out on the ice after one of his teams won the Stanley Cup. Hated it. I remember Viktor Tikhonov stealing Nikolai Khabibulin's gold medal after the Soviet's won gold. Hated it. Mr. O'Shea, my hat's off to you, sir. You do, indeed, get it.
  7. This was me after this game. I'm sure my wife was wondering, WTF! But damn, man. 29 years! That's a lot of pent up frustration and heartache to let go of. I am so thankful to Wade Miller, Kyle Walters, Mike O'Shea, the entire management group, and the players for bringing home the Cup and making us all feel like champions again. While I am at it, I'd also like to thank Rich and everyone here on this forum. Being born and raised in Winnipeg and having moved to Ontario in the eighties, I don't get back to Winnipeg much, and I am very grateful for this place and all of you Bomber fans to share this with. It's awesome!
  8. Mr. Hall, your defense was on another level on this day. I, personally, have never seen such a dominant performance by a Winnipeg defense and I've seen some very good ones. You must be as proud of these players as we are with you. We know you had a very tough year and we thank you for hanging in there and finishing the job you set out to do. Let me take this opportunity to say, thank you.
  9. When asked what O'Shea had said to him and Streveler before the game, Collaros said ... "Osh said, you were made for this!"
  10. The guy on the left maintained his faith in the guy on the right when everyone else was doubting them both. They paid a high price but the reward was a championship for the players, the management group, the city of Winnipeg, and each other.
  11. Here's one for you, Noeller. O'Shea showing his Eye of the Tiger look ...
  12. Thanks to you and Jcon. It is mine now as well.
  13. In the Grey Cup game Streveler threw with pinpoint accuracy and had great zip on the ball, with a bum leg. Two good legs and he most certainly can throw a very nice ball indeed.
  14. And as you know, when you go in with a scope to take a look at these things you sometimes find pre-existing issues, bone chips, small tears and scar tissue, calcium deposits, cysts, etc. They can fix the injury, clean up the joint, and once healed, rehabbed, and fully recovered, he may be better than ever.
  15. We've just won a cup for gawd sake!
  16. You say this with such conviction. How do you know ?
  17. Well they can't throw 1990 in our faces any more so that's all they have left. Must suck to be such a wretched fan base that you have to complain about other team's running backs even though your own was guilty of the same thing. lol Poor little greenies.
