  1. yeah... you seem like the type that doesn't let little things like facts get in the way of your story...
  2. you know what? I have no problem with you disagreeing or having a different opinion than mine... in fact, I can even appreciate your different point of view... but, you can't say that how I feel isn't how I feel, regardless of whether you think I'm right or wrong... not true, because you making a statement of fact, not opinion, that it is warmer in Winnipeg than Nairobi in the month of January... something that can easily be disproved by a simple google search... it is really that simple...
  3. I'll make it real simple for ya all... if you can prove that the statement below wasn't how I felt, or for that matter, still feel, I'll concede that I was wrong, otherwise, you all are just being dicks... "it's time to pass out apples and road maps to all three of them, MOS, Lapo, and Hall... well, after the playoffs anyway..."
  4. delete... errant post.. something went afoul...
  5. yeah, it becomes a necessary evil when people aren't smart enough to interpret or understand the definition provided by a dictionary...
  6. fact /fakt/ noun a thing that is known or proved to be true.
  7. then you should take that up with the Borough Of Manhattan Community College... link for ya...
  8. surely people here are smart enough to know the difference between someone stating an opinion as a matter of fact and stating an opinion based on how one feels... a fact is a statement that can be proven true or false... an opinion is an expression of a person’s feelings that cannot be proven... if you can prove that it wasn't how I felt or feel then you are correct, I'm wrong, but, good luck with that one, lol... as an example, if I were to say one of the following: a) if you don't know the difference between someone stating an opinion on how they feel or stating an opinion as a matter of fact, then you my friend or an idiot... or... b) if you don't know the difference between someone stating an opinion on how they feel or stating an opinion as a matter of fact, then that causes me great concern... statement a can be proven to be correct or incorrect... if you're capable of proving that you have an IQ greater than 70 than you are indeed technically NOT an idiot, whether you choose to demonstrate it or not is not relevant... however, statement b can NOT be proven or disproved as you have no way of knowing whether or not that I indeed have great concerns regarding your reading comprehension abilities, or anything else for that matter... there are no stats, documentation, or narrative otherwise that could substantiate the validity of my statement whether you agree or not... it's really not that complicated...
  9. sure, when presenting opinion as fact... my statement was not done in that matter... but, if you're looking for a fight, you had better pack a lunch...
  10. it was my opinion, therefore it can't be wrong... no where did I say that this is what would happen, just indicated what I would like to see happen...
  11. the difference between earlier in the year and the Grey Cup game is he didn't rush the pass/play... Streve tends to play too 'fast' not getting set when throwing the ball and as noted throws with his arm... if he slowed down and got set I think he would have much better success...
  12. 1 for 3 isn't so bad... as of yet anyway... could still be more to be passed out... it was also followed by 'if we had to keep anyone it would be MOS'... is as of now seems the most likely... unlike others, I don't back track, I said it then and I still believe it would have been best for the team long term...
  13. there is something to be said about the finer things in life... like running water and electricity...
  14. People tend to forget that Streveler also had almost 800 rushing yards as while... he was what, 6th or 7th in total the in the league? Like it was said above, once Lapo found out what kind of runner 17 could be that became his role... nichols on the other hand has potential but tends to rely way too heavily on limited number of what he considers trusted targets and the check down... Lapo only compounded this problem with his play calling and the way he used receivers. also, Nichols isn’t a very accurate thrower despite his Completion percentage... Nichols throws a lot of balls high, low, or wide which really kills the chance of yards after the catch... sure, they are within the receivers catch radius but not a good ball that could allow a receiver to advance often.... also, while not his fault, look at how many throws are to a receiver that is stationary or running a version of a come back... again, significantly reduces the chance of YAC... I’m on the road right now but I’ve got some interesting info to continue my point when I get back to the house... can’t stand posting from my phone, lol...
  15. awwww... don't understand it but yet I can appreciate it... lol... definitely able to pick out the 'posers' that way... 😀
  16. yet at best, both are a risk and at worst, flame outs... pick your poison boys... but before I pick a QB I'll wait to see what we get for an OC...
  17. great story... brought back memories of when I was little and watched wrestling, lol... we had the NWA that aired at 10:30 pm on Saturday nights out of Kansas City, a regional deal... wrestlers like Handsome Harley Race, Bulldog Bob Brown, Danny Littlebear, Rufus R. Jones, etc... KC had their own version of your mom, Mertie and Gertie Hite, twins who sat in the first row every week and would hit the wrestlers they didn't like with their purses, lol... in fact, after retiring from wrestling Race actually opened a wrestling academy a short 20 miles from me in Eldon, MO from '99 to 2014 when he moved it to Troy, MO...
  18. hey skunk, if it makes you feel any better I got me one of them warning points as well, lol, so you're not alone... got it on the first day here no less... 😕
  19. nice... just goes to show you that you can't overlook those adjectives and nouns when determining rule application...
  20. well I guess that depends on your definition of 'successful'... but it really doesn't matter at the end of the day... success in football is heavily dependent upon the system you play in and the supporting cast of players around you and how you mesh into it all... it all boils down to personal preference and opinion of those being discussed... for every 'pro' for any one of them I can come up with just as many 'cons'... not to mention that what you did 2 years ago has absolutely little value when you're talking about next year... football remains a team sport, look no further than Mike Reilly to see how that can work out for ya... no matter how great of a QB you may be, or the receivers you have, it doesn't matter if your O line is crap and you spend most of the game on your back... and if we're really being honest here, let's see a show of hands that actually thought that Collaros would have, or could have, pulled off what he did for the Bombers this year... anyone? no hands up? exactly... at times we tend to remain frozen in time when we evaluate players... lots of extenuating circumstances that ultimately determine success, even year to year... but, as harsh as it may sound, with the departure of Lapo we may have actually improved our odds of better QB play, regardless of who that may be...
  21. while that may be true when you consider as a whole that a CFL team has a cap of $5.75M for 2020 and the XFL only a $4M cap for 2020, but when you compare those totals on a 'per game' average you get a very different perspective... now taking that into consideration, the CFL pays $319,444 per game or S6,944 per player, on average... the XFL will pay $400,000 per game or $7,962 per player, on average... a non QB player in the XFL that plays on a 5-5 team will make $55K, on average, not to mention playoff money and performance bonus... go undefeated and that can put another $11K in your pocket, plus playoff bonus... now, when you take into account the dollar conversion rate that becomes $72.7K on a 5-5 team to $87.3K for being on an undefeated team, plus playoff bonus... PLUS the XFL provides housing for all players that simply request it AND you play 8 fewer regular season games and your season runs from Feb thru April (3 months) vs. the CFL whose season runs July thru November (5 months)... also, when players look at what happened with the AAF, even though it failed, upon failing there were still 100 AAF players that signed NFL deals... 83 made to camps... and at last count 17 actually remain in the NFL on either an active roster (8) or a practice roster (9)... may not sound like a huge number but not bad for a league that lasted all of what, 8 games? many players will view the XFL as potentially a faster track to the NFL for no other reason than those aforementioned numbers... however, I don't think it will necessarily hurt the CFL as I believe they will both still be pulling players from different 'pools'... for some, the CFL isn't an option to them for whatever reason; relocating to another country, passport issues, real job opportunities, or some will continue to work state side waiting for a call... the CFL has to cut some players, a lot of them untested at the professional level due to nothing more than the ratio and will ultimately land in the XFL... the one key area that could possibly be effected is the QB position as both leagues have similar pay opportunities for those positions... however, on the bright side, how many Div 1 FBS QBs wash out in the NFL while FCS and lower division QBs actually make it? many overlooked for the level of ball they played or the school they attended... however, all 8 of the designated starting QBs have had NFL experience, some more than others... Cardale Jones actually started 11 NFL games... bottom line, the pool of talent is and will be large enough moving forward to provide adequate talents for both leagues... as many here have witnessed, the games are different, one player may thrive in the CFL and bomb in the XFL or NFL, or vice versa... when you consider there are over 13,000 players that graduate each year, there are a lot of potential 'diamonds' out there, it may just be a little tougher for everyone to find them though, but they're out there...
  22. sorry about being late to the party on this, but... as with most things it will all come down to the number of "dead presidents" that are available, which in and of itself is a term that doesn't really make a lot of sense here in the states as the largest available denomination of currency available from a bank here is the $100 bill which in fact does not have a picture of a president on it... you'd have to assume that one of those real intelligent folk that comes up with all of our slang made up this one and wasn't smart enough to know that Franklin wasn't a president, lol... and before I get jumped all over, I know that Canada doesn't have 'presidents'... back to topic... there is a lot of moving parts to consider; who to keep, how much to offer, and who we let walk... all things considered, you should like to keep the entire team, if possible, after all the Bombers are the 2019 Global Football Championship Team... but we all know that won't be the case... those I'm indifferent to coming back... Nichols, Collaros, Hecht... with Lapo moving on I'm willing to gamble 1 more year on Nichols if we have to, that is if he can still throw and is willing to play for no more than his current contract (I'd rather he take a cut, but...), Collaros is playing on borrowed time, god love him... Hecht? meh... keep him only if there is a ratio issue... but at the end of the day it will become more about money than anything... Cap does go up to $5.75M max, $5.15M min... but, min salary for players take a hefty hike from $54K to $65K... given the number of players in that category that could have a significant impact on ability to retain players that are wanting big, or any, raise... one area of help comes from the putting a cap on the amount drafted players can make now... #1 draft pick slot has a max of $85K that can be offered to sign and down from there for #2 on... if I were Walters, I'd begin my player contract negotiations by reminding each of these players that they did receive a $23K raise already in 2019 by competing in 2 playoff games and winning the Grey Cup... if the Bombers are able to retain the majority of their free agents it wouldn't be unreasonable to believe that there is that same opportunity for like bonus pay next year as well... and how players such as Santos-Knox and Chung, who left for more than they were offered here but less than what they would have made had they stayed (at least Santos-Knox), can be effected by moving on...
  23. honestly, I think there was too much pressure on Streveler when he all of a sudden became #1, self pressure any way... he was just trying too hard... once ZC comes on board it was like a safety valve releasing the pressure and you got to see him play as he can...
