Seems like the most Lapo move ever. Way to not go out on a limb on a potential up and comer and put your chips on a guy who might get you to 9-9, 10-8 at best
-
I agree for the first period. I thought the score was flattering being down by 1. Then the Jets just dominated them for 38 straight minutes
-
7-3-1 Dubois in the lineup next game. We absolutely pummelled the Flames tonight. Love it! Hellebuyck franchise leader for most wins in history with 153! Worth it for the 5th round pick, I'd say

*O'shea: wins championship* "average head coach" lol. k.

Scheif did knick Rittich there. Just barely, but he did

Arbuckle to Toronto as a FA, Nichols to Ottawa as a FA. I'm surprised Nichols wasn't willing to re-structure for some security.
-
Toronto just rebuilt half their team by giving up nothing. Wow. I like this trade for them.

Absolute drivel that the hillbillies believe is true.

https://leaderpost.com/sports/football/cfl/saskatchewan-roughriders/rob-vanstone-saskatchewan-roughriders-tied-for-league-lead-in-quarterbacks?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Bad news guys, the Riders have "so much quarterback wealth it may cause a quarterback quandry" It's all over fellas. Game over man. Fajarado, Franklin and Harkins are "tied for the league lead in quarterbacks"

I think Masoli sees self-preservation here. He's getting way overpaid to be a back up for 1 year. Once the reigns are handed over to Evans and he signs his big extension next offseason Masoli will sign some place like Toronto for a starter's salary. With his injury history he knows he might only last a year or two as a starter. This maximizes his length of time in the league. If he was offered $125,000 he would have been as good as gone I think this move his genius by him, tbh.

Jim Barker would be a horrendous choice. Doesn't get any more CFL than a hire like that. They should be pursuing Trestman. Harris could have a great year under him.

Three weak calls against the Jets. I can't ****ing stand when the refs have a noticeable impact on the game Scheifele is being mugged out there but somehow that's different. Patiently waiting for 2-3 make up calls that aren't going to come
-
Refs keeping Oilers in it. Garbage call on Copp's goal. No way is that conclusive to be overturned Garbage penalty on Wheeler. But someone breathed on McDavid so got to call it.
-
I also liked how Chevy, Mo, Wheeler all subtly said Laine was given every opportunity and pretty much gave him the best case scenario to succeed. Which is true. Reading between the lines they all pretty much said "he was treated well and there was nothing we could do". I'm glad they didn't just give out cliche answers that we all know aren't really true
-
And Morrissey, Byfuglien, Connor, Wheeler, Hellebuyck, Ehlers garbage take.
-
Not at all. Laine is a great player, no doubt. But the Jets added a bona fide #1 center today. Jets fans WAY overrated Laine and are continuing to do so.
-
Center depth is how you win in the NHL. Scheifele PLD Stastny Lowry. That's how you ****ing win.

With the way our defense showed up in the Grey Cup, Nichols wins that game for us. That being said, I don't think Nichols would have won the game in Saskatchewan. Collaros made timely plays under pressure. Buried in our endzone and hitting Adams 35 yards down field on the sideline just isn't a throw I think Matt Nichols ever completes.
-
What an absolute joke
-
Lawler was our leading receiver last year. He's got 1000 yards written all over him now that he's an established player. I'd hate to lose him after two years of development.

Toronto Calgary Edmonton Winnipeg --- Montreal Vancouver Ottawa Toronto- I think they're the obvious pick here. Montreal. I don't see why people are so high on them all of a sudden. They were closer to a lottery team than they were the playoffs if it wasn't for covid. Toffoli, Jake Allen, and Anderson (while losing Domi) is not some huge upgrade. They still have no elite top end talent. I do like Calgary's roster composition. But Monahan and Gaudreau don't scare me. If they stumble again I could see them making big changes in Calgary. Vancouver - lost their work horse goalie on a career year. I think they step back Edmonton - disgusting goalie combo. They're not going anywhere leaning on 38 year old Mike Smith and Koskinen. They needed to land Markstrom. And no, Yamamoto shooting 25% for 30 games or whatever is not some ppg player like Oilers fans have been saying he is. Power play and penalty kill WILL regress. They were #1 in the league last year at both. That's not happening again. Ottawa- obviously We could very well slide down to dead last though if Hellebuyck gets hurt or our defense doesn't hold up.
