  1. I have to admit, the Bombers infatuation with Thomas among others is baffling. Sure he makes the odd play but imo he has passed his "best before" date. Heck, earlier in his career with the Bombers, he was cut (not good enough then?) and then brought back.
  2. Just checking in with a comment about #17. I've been watching him as closely as possible for the last few games and IMO there's no way that he should be starting....a lot of missed tackles there. Of course, he's not the only issue....the play calling on that last series, Collaros' Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Hall's D strategy. Yikes! We're still in it but what a frustrating game to watch.
  3. I'm starting to get a little concerned about the recent performances by the Bombers and that concern is being compounded by the knowledgeable posters here who have been and still are concerned about roster management in particular. It seems to me that if posters here see issues with roster management and other coaching deficiencies, Coach O'Shea's supervisors (Walters and, ultimately, Miller) see this too. If the bottom line is to win (resulting in more butts in the stands and $$s in the coffers), surely they might pull the HC aside for a chat about this. If the HC is not fielding an optimum roster which might involve efficiently utilizing the new roster rules (designated Americans, designated nationalized Americans and designated nationals...gotta admit that I can't figure them out), might not that be grounds for at least a "talking to" by the GM or President? Thoughts?
  4. Thanks for confirming a new ST system. You may be correct about a lack ST "aces" as it currently stands. (I guess there are a few good STers on the IR which doesn't help.) Hmmm, so O'Shea figures that it was time for a change. I wonder if he feels the same way about Hall's D-system(s) that has been here for what seems like an eternity.😊
  5. Like most Bomber fans, I'm concerned about the team's recent play and I've been concerned about the special team play since the season started. Somewhere on this forum quite a while ago, someone noted that Coach O'Shea mentioned that a new system was being implemented this season and that some of the STers were still adjusting. I thought it must be a new Special Teams coach. However, Paul Boudreau, the ST coach, has been here for seven years. Any thoughts as to why the team would mess with something that was working so well for so many years? (e.g., new kickers?)
  6. I realize that they're all playing poorly. It's just that Kramdi caught my eye.
  7. Just dropping by but why does it seem like the Bombers are not prepared for the start of most games and Kramdi is doing a good Sam Hurl impersonation.
  8. FWIW. I was out for a bike ride about an hour before the game and the wind was very slight (less than 5km/h) from the north. The turf at IGF is quite a bit below grade and with the protection from the wind offered by the stands, IMO, the wind was/should have been a non-factor yesterday.
  9. Thanks for picking up where Do or Die left off. Appreciate the effort. Hoping it was Hendricks gin.
  10. I place the TSN CFL halftime panel segment in the same category as the gambling ads....totally irritating and insufferable. Whenever one or the other comes on, I switch channels.
  11. I am baffled by this new scheme. (Earlier in the season, I heard O’Shea mention it.) in all seriousness, can anyone explain it for me? Is it something different to accommodate the new punter and his kicking repertoire? I see a lot of returners make extra yards along the side lines.
  12. The Command Centre may not have reversed the call but from this year's CFL rule book: "A coach may challenge a play that has already been reviewed by the Command Centre." I may have missed it but I don't think that O'Shea used his challenge during the game. There was one play (a guy draped over Lawler) when the Suitor mentioned that O'Shea had his hand on his flag but decided against throwing it. So, I believe that O'Shea could have challenged that 2-point OT play.
  13. From the 23023 CFL Rule Book In overtime, a team does not need a time-out to challenge a play
  14. Hate to be continually negative tonight but in my opinion Parker might be worse than McCrae as a returner.
  15. Appreciate the completion but it was an underthrow. A lot of that lately.
  16. Finally 😀. He's actually very quick and has learned a lot. I kinda like him.
  17. Roster management? He shouldn't be on the (overall) roster. Look, I realize that there are a lot of issues with the Bombers this evening but I've been watching Kramdi all season and he is not very good.
  18. Gotta admit that I never played the game so I don’t have a good command of the X’s and O’s but the last time Kramdi played there was a lot of this going on. He may be ok on STs but he is too slow even as a backup at that position on D.
  19. Thankfully it's a long season so I'm hoping that adjustments can be made. The Stamps knocking off the Green Guys was all right, too. (I only watched the fourth quarter of that one and, it was exciting.) Both results were good for the league in general and hopefully there were a few American eyes watching on whatever network carries the games (CBS Sports?). From the conversation above and previous, it seems to me that the Bombers' Canuck talent in certain positions is a little less than ideal....interior of both lines and at LB. I did see Neufeld get beaten badly a few times; I've never been sold on Gray; and I've read on this forum that some think that our current C isn't all that great. As for Canadian LBs, Briggs and Gauthier (is he injured?) are way too slow. Perhaps, they're good STers but I used to cringe whenever they came in on D, Gauthier in particular. Still plenty of season to go. Aside from Edmonton (Can Jones fire himself....please), the West should be very entertaining this year. Go Blue Go!
  20. After several post game glasses of wine...... Definitely, Bum(b)mers this afternoon. Out-coached by Ottawa staff. Buck went conservative late in second quarter instead of going for the jugular. Schoen is a threat but not a "Lawler threat". (Will Lawler ever show up?). Hall couldn't/didn't adjust at the half. If you have a timeout or two, why not use them at critical times. Looked like Bombers were panicking near end. Brain farts by Collaros, Schoen, Wollie and Buck/Hall. Took Ottawa too lightly. It's a long season. Hope they learn from this.
  21. A couple of terrible teams that the play by play guys are trying to pump up. Since this is what the league is presenting not just to the home-grown fans like me but to the Americans (CBS Sports), I'm a little concerned.
