  1. There are lots of asshat coaches or managers in every major pro league. Good or bad the players have to play for everyone even if they don't like it. Darryl "Chuckles" Sutter is another coach players hated but they had no choice.
  2. Jake Maier was the only qb in the CFL to play all 18 games last season so nothing has changed.
  3. 1. Yeah, Brady's sure been a positive & infectious force in the locker room this off season. Especially after his last social media post. 2. I & most fans just want to win whether Brady is from Winnipeg or Tallahassee. Florida. We don't care. Is it nice he's a Winnipegger? Sure. Is it necessary?? No. 3. What intangibles does Brady have that other backs don't have? Sure, he's big, strong & tough but so are other backs as well. He can be replaced rather easily for a a lot less money by an American. 4. The priority is Dalton Schoen. Not Brady. Since we pass the ball more than we run, that makes him the priority. 5. Football is a team game. You need all positions & coaches working together to win. You can't win by just one person "willing" it. 6. How can Oliveira be that "infectious force" you claim he is? Inspiring Americans to not just look at the CFL as a stepping stone to the NFL when he's doing that now, himself? Or wistfully thinking that maybe a bigger payday will come elsewhere in the CFL.
  4. Vince Lombardi was this great coach with Bart Starr. Ingrate.
  5. Carey is a decent blocker.
  6. Miller doesn't coach the team. He has his duties. He lets Walters & O'Shea do there's. He stays in his lane. He does not interfere. A lot of that so called "quality" came with an offensive line that paved the road for Brady. Not many teams can do that for him. It's the guys up front that make Brady tick so replacing him isn't as hard as he may think.
  7. The two running backs in Calgary. Ka'Deem Carey & Dedrick Mills. They have another back as well who is also a returner. One of those guys would do quite well here.
  8. So, no one gets your point. Like what is wrong with this guy? Kind of flabbergasted here. Brady's sitting around Winnipeg saying he wants to explore his NFL options even though he has no NFL options. Holding up the contract process for other players who want to get their deals done sooner rather than later. I don't get the attitude with him. If I was Walters, I'd give him a deadline to sign a new deal. If he says no then he goes to free agency, we flip to an American in the backfield & go from there. If he has no intentions of signing here then sayonara. Good luck.
  9. He's one of the top CFL receivers & the terms are good for both sides. Also heard that Dickenson said they can't afford to bring in another qb so Maier is his guy. One less CFL team to go to when he lands. The market for Brown is shrinking.
  10. I remember Glynn Johns. She was in a lot of Brirish films in the 50's & 60's. I've seen The Sundowners a number of times, including Grade 11 or 12 when we studied the novel in English class. Then later we got to see the movie in the lunchroom at Churchill High which starred Johns & Robert MItchum, Peter Ustinov & Deborah Kerr.
  11. I'm unhappy about losing both games in the final minute. Never should have happened. I don't care if it's hard or not.
  12. Disagree. Look at the "promising" young qbs that Ottawa has absolutely wrecked in the last few years.. Nick Arbuckle, Caleb Evans, Dustin Crum. They'll eat him up & spit him out as well. Losing Mack is devastating for the Als.
  13. Arbuckle was viewed as The Next Big Thing & instead he got caught up in the CFL rollercoaster going from team to team. Wasn't he cut & traded 3 times in one yera a few seasons ago? Taken advantage by lousy Me First coaches like Chris Jones. He was spit out & chewed up. He never recovered. I think he left Calgary in the same manner Brown will be leaving Winnipeg. Going to another sub par team for way more money. I noticed the Stamps never took Arbuckle back when they needed a qb & he was available. He may have burned some bridges on the way out of Calgary thinking he was better than he really was. Living here, that was the impression he left. That he was too good to back up Bo Levi Mitchell & there was no way he was ever coming back to be a #2 qb. I hope that's not the case here with Brown.
  14. WTH Jesse with the roll eyes?? Are you denying that the biggest weakness on defense is our interior line?? If a team can't improve a position like DT after two full seasons then it has to be the DC's decision to go in another direction. The Bombers could have signed numerous free agents to fill that role. Once Stove left our D lost all of its physicality & intimidation. It's no coincidence when we really needed to be physical in the last 2 Grey Cups to win late in the fourth quarter, we couldn't.
  15. Not upgrading the interior of the DL tells me it was Ritchie Hall's decision to play undersized linemen in that role. I just hope that changes. That'll make a huge difference all round for our defense.
  16. What makes you think Brown would continue to play at a high level on another team? I don't think he's ready to qb a CFL team just yet. Nick Arbuckle should have stayed in Calgary one more season to continue learning under Dave Dickenson.
  17. Hamilton already has a good young qb in Powell. No guarantee that Brown would be the starter in Hamilton. Corey Mace has committed to Trevor Harris. Dave Dickenson isn't ready to give up on Maier just yet. If Brown is stupid enough to sign with the RedBlacks then he'll wreck his career. He'll just become another Nick Arbuckle. He'll become another human punching bag like Michael Penix was last night playing for Ottawa. For Brown's sake, I hope he stays out of that situation. Pickings are slim for Brown right now unless one of the CFL head coaches wants to shake things up.
  18. Tom Dimitroff was a former A|tlanta Falcons GM from 2008-2020. He was born in Ohio but was raised in Canada. His father was a long time CFL Assistant Coach & the Head Coach of the University of Guelph Gryphons. Tom helped the Gryphons equipment staff when he was teenager & then later played for Guelph where he received his degree. He started in player personnel with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1992 & then moved to the US where he worked with various NFL teams including Bill Belichek in Cleveland & New England. He left Atlanta when he was fired in 2020 & is out of football at the moment.
  19. I believe John Hodge is a teacher. He should stick to that.
  20. I don't think you switch out older vets for younger players unless there's a valid reason to do so. Like the older player is making too much money. Or the older player's aren't performing anymore & there are guys ready to take their place. Replacing just for replacement sake gets a team a one way ticket to last place. Happy for Jordan Younger as he finally gets to be DC for a Grey Cup contending team. He knows the personnel & I'm hoping he may want to do some things differently. Like making the secondary more aggressive & punishing receivers instead of playing soft. And please..... upgrade the interior of the DL. Get bigger, stronger & meaner.
  21. What will it do? One less team Brown has to choose from. If anything, it's the Mitchell contract that has raised the bar for backup qbs. He's being paid $225,000 plus incentives. The price for backups has gone up.
  22. What a ridiculous statement, Noeller. Next, you'll say that a player shouldn't be eligible for the Hall because he didn't play long enough because of injuries.
  23. What rumour? I heard no such rumour...
