  1. Something tells me Miller wouldn't get within ten kms of any protestors. John Murphy should be fired AGAIN for being the biggest ******* in the room next to Kelly.
  2. Because it's the arrogance between U Sports & the CFL. That just tells you just how close they work together to make something actually work.
  3. It's raining cats & dogs here in Calgary!!!!
  4. Well, the season starts around May 25th so if these protestors entrench themselves at Percival Molson Stadium, then what?? Also, I'm concerned about Princess Auto Stadium as it's on the campus of the U of M. What if protestors in Winnipeg do the same?
  5. Ownership in YYC is too cheap. The owner (Murray Edwards) is a billionaire living in Switzerland so as not to pay Canadian income tax like you & I. He won't spend a penny on football operations. Living here, the Stamps are a true football wasteland. You don't even know if Calgary has a CFL team. Edwards could turn things around so fast if he wanted to but alas, he doesn't. The Elks think private ownership is the Holy Grail. Sure, if you have someone who cares like Omar Doman in BC but then you have private douchebags like Edwards & MLSE who don't. It's a roll of the dice.
  6. Pro Palestinian protestors have taken over Percival Molson Stadium. Sounds like they're not going anywhere. Cops have decided to do nothing but observe. Organizers say it's like their own city. So, how does that affect the Alouettes training camp & (at least) their pre season game? Can they move to Olympic Stadium or are they working on the roof?
  7. "Argos or Lions...." ("Argos or Lions")... If the Argos signed Rourke, Kelly would be gone soooo fast.
  8. Name another fringe player who had 6700 fringe yards rushing & 4000 fringe yards receiving & scored 78 fringe tds? I doubt that you can. The other fringe players must have at least or better than ten thousand all purpose yards & nearly 80 tds during their career, so good luck. As far as championships go, just because Milt never had one, doesn't mean it's meaningless. What about when the debate turns to all time greats at qb, the lack of or the number of Super Bowl or Grey Cup wins is always front & center, if it's not important? After all, (mostly younger) fans say that Brady was better than Montana & is the all time GOAT becausse he won 7 Super Bowls & Montana 4.
  9. I respectfully disagree with you on Drummond. Four Grey Cup victories. The 2000 GC MOP. What jumps out to me are his TD numbers with 78. That means Drummond was on the field all the time. He wasn't a situational player. He was an every down back. There aren't many players in the history of the CFL who scored that many touchdowns. There are more like Pinball, Reed & others but that is a ton of TDs Drummond scored. You may not agree which is fine. You're entitled to your opinion. To me, he is a Hall of Famer.
  10. Sure, a part timer who scored 78 touchdowns & had over 10,000 all purpose yards. Uh, huh. Yeah but it kinda does.
  11. But nearly $800 to fly from Calgary to Victoria.
  12. Eight seasons isn't longevity? Man JBR, that's cutting it really thin as a reason for keeping Drummond out of the CFHOF saying he lacked longevity when the average football career isn't even 4 years. How many years did Dressler & Goldsmith play?? Goldsmith played ten seasons from 1981-90 & Dressler played 11 seasons from 2008-18 but missed 25 games with injuries from 2014-18. So, he missed a season & a half which is the equivalent of 9 1/2 seasons & not 11. You look at the stats & championships. It's there for all to see. Drummond had 10,790 all purpose yards. Broken down that's 6,706 yds rushing with 60 TDs & 4,033 yards receiving with 18 TDs. He had another 51 yards returning kicks for zero touchdowns. That's 78 total touchdowns along with 4 Grey Cup rings. Just incredible stats. I remember Drummond as a monster. If he didn't kill teams as a runner then he killed them as a receiver. He dominated games as a player. If there was a knock on Drummond, he played very little Special Teams. Dickenson may have won the CFL's MOP award in 2000 but Drummond won the 2000 Grey Cup MOP Award. ,
  13. He's retired around 3 times now.
  14. Chad Owens & Weston Dressler get into the CFHOF but Robert Drummond & Craig Ellis don't. No politics there. Drummond was a dominant running back for the Baltimore Stallions, Argos & Lions. He rushed for nearly 6,706 yards & scored 66 touchdowns rushing. Drummond caught another 391 passes for 4,033 yards & 18 touchdowns. He had 10,790 all purpose yards & scored 78 touchdowns. Drummond was the 2000 CFL MOP. & had numerous all star awards. While Ellis had 12,828 all purpose yards, scored 88 touchdowns. Ellis was 2 time CFL West Division & All Canadian as well.
  15. He tore his achilles twice since then.
  16. Meanwhile in Calgary, the Cavalry get more coverage than the Stamps.
  17. He will be missed. Maybe he's dead.
  18. Oh, he will be. I'm just saying in 20 years if his foundation is still around , it will have helped a lot of cancer patients. My brother in Winnipeg has pancreatic cancer so I'm curious as to what the foundation does & will be checking it out online.
  19. I think he may be remembered more for his Never Alone Foundation that helped cancer patients, families & caregivers than his time as a Bomber player or President. Rest in Peace, Lyle Bauer. He'll be missed.
  20. What about the Ontario high school kids? Like Jeezus.
  21. Better yet, who was Ollie Baaken???
  22. On the Rod Pederson Show last week, Jim Barker went after Nathan Rourke for his comments about the Commissioner & the way the CFL has handled the Kelly fiasco. He was genuinely angry that Rourke said what he did. He said Rourke signing with New England was a mistake & he's likely fourth on the depth chart now after the draft & free agent qb signings. He called Rourke's situation "Karma" for his criticism of Randy Ambrosie. I like Jim Barker a lot but was disappointed he was being so petty. I agree with Rourke & a lot of fans do as well. It would have been better to have refused to give na opinion or just say he disagreed & that's it. Unfortunately, it made Barker look bad. I think those with the Argos & the CFL probably think the same.
