  1. What Jennings will show up today? If it's the Dr Jekyll Jennings they'll win. If it's the Mr Hyde Jennings they'll lose. Ed Hervey has served him notice in the media that he better pick his game big time. He won't have Wally around after November to protect him & wrap him in a protective blanket if he fails.
  2. Well, for one Osh is older & more mature. He may be emotionally involved in the game still on the sidelines but he's not physically involved so that would ratchet a lot of his emotional reactions down more than a few notches. Now, he's a coach & if he loses it on the sidelines constantly then so will his players so he needs to keep his composure. Look at all the trouble the Esks players had with penalties when Jason Maas would go off on some inanimate object like his headset or Gatorade container when he threw his tantrums. The Esks are still dealing with that as a team because Maas ingrained it in their team culture. It was okay for him to go off & so too then his players as well. Just because Maas said he's a changed man doesn't mean his team will buy into being disciplined right away. It'll take time. This is what happens when assistant coaches who aren't ready are hired as head coaches based on a couple of seasons of success. They haven't totally figured it out yet. It takes a few years of being in charge to finally get it. Some do & some don't.
  3. There is so much preparation needed to be a qb at the pro level. If a player doesn't have the work ethic coming out of college I think it's highly doubtful they'll develop that as a pro player. There has to be a certain amount of motivation to do the prepatory work & much more both positive & negative. The Negatives: To be afraid of failure. To not care. To accept mediocrity. To not push yourself to see just how great you could be. To go out & play like stink. To not have the respect of your teammates. To not have the trust of your coaches. To not trust your eyes & hold onto the ball too long or force it into coverage resulting in turnovers. To have the game fly by you at warp speed. To fold under pressure. To make mistakes. To fail. To lose. To be cut. The Positives: To be confident throwing the ball. To be prepared for every situation presented. To quickly recognize all defensive sets & formations with certainty. To be able to exploit an opponent's defensive weakness. To be able to make quick decisions. To get rid of the ball quickly. To have your coaches trust. To play at a consistently high level throughout the season. To set a high standard for yourself. To trust your eyes when you see an open receiver or anticipate one getting open. To believe in your ability as a qb even if others don't. To have the respect of your teammates. To be a team leader. To not fail or be afraid to make mistakes. To win championships. I see more negatives for Jennings than I do positives. Unless he plays great in the remaining games the Lions have then next year he'll be elsewhere.
  4. Not surprising considering Jennings schizophrenic playing style & the fact he's Wally's guy. Hervey is handcuffed by the fact Wally wants him there. I think Wally still runs things even with Hervey there & no way Ed can get rid of Jennings until Wally is gone. Lulay is a lost cause as far as I'm concerned. No team can rely on a starting qb who gets hurt as much as he does. http://3downnation.com/2018/10/06/b-c-lions-gm-ed-hervey-questions-jon-jennings-work-ethic/
  5. We have the crossover at least sewn up.
  6. He's in Mexico being wined & dined by some Senior Men's league & too busy there to worry about officiating.
  7. Calgary's problem is they lack character. When the going gets tough they turtle. In big games like the playoffs & Grey Cup. It's easy to blow teams away when the bounces go their way but when these teams that are supposed to lose fight back then they can't handle it as they freeze up. The entire team panics.
  8. There wasn't any. Yet there was Duane Forde going on & on about inconclusiveness on the Adams catch. What was the difference between that & the Ellingson catch? Just a whole bunch of incompetents running the CFL officiating. Having video reviews just shows even more incompetence.
  9. That would be the best case scenario for us. It would also keep him on the field longer not dealing with injuries. BTW, the RedBla cks have to be the dirtiest team in the league. That head tackle on Dressler was so dangerous. Glad they imploded in OT thanks to Rodgers. LOL.
  10. What about the Ellingson catch where there was no conclusive evidence that he caught the ball inbounds yet the CC ruled it a catch? No way there was proof his foot was inbounds so it should have stayed a non catch. There was no clear view that showed his foot was inbounds. The CFL just looks so foolish.
  11. Having a bounce back year for sure.
  12. I know & you're right. Maybe I do mention it a bit too much & I'll try to dial it back a bit. However, I'm proud of the fact I've been an unwavering fan of this team for so long. My apologies. Thanks sincerely for reminding me of that.
  13. Harris Medlock Dressler HH Adams/Bighill
  14. I take it personal? So are you the kettle or the pot? Whatever. I don't even recall talking to you before you weighed in.
  15. No, you talked **** with me saying I'm never happy with a win. Been a fan of this team since 1965.I have reservations about how we won & why but don't mistake that with not being happy we won which is an unfair thing to say.
  16. Our D has to be stellar for us to win in the playoffs. That is my entire point.
  17. Never happy with a win? Don't talk stupid ****. Stick with the Jets.
  18. We gave up a 15 point lead late in the fourth quarter & went into OT. Ottawa was marching in for a score. Bighill came up with a big play to win the game so props to him.
  19. If this is our best ball then the same thing will happen in the playoffs that occurred the past 2 seasons.
  20. It was better sure, but LaPo is LaPo & he always makes strange calls or gets conservative when it's crunch time. In OT he had to get aggressive & it resulted in a TD. But he only did it because he had to. And don't worry I feel the same way as you do about Hall. Looks like last week's D was an aberration. We went back to what Hall always does & has for 3 seasons. I'm glad we won but I saw a lot of things I didn't like.
  21. LaPo playcalling inconsistent. Shows some imagination on some plays rolling out Nichols or misdirection. Then goes entire series into a shell when the game was on the line in the 4th qtr. Stops using what works. Some bad playcalling in the Red Zone results in FGs instead of touchdowns. Hall being Hall with his soft zone in the second half let Ottawa back into it. Both coordinators have to go.
