  1. I've been savouring this win now for 19 months. I don't give a damn about our so called record developing qbs. Most if not all teams in the CFL struggle doing the same. We won. That's all I care about. And I agree McGuire shows a helluva lot of promise as a backup. Who knows, maybe Streveler gets cut in Arizona & is back here by September. We just don't know.
  2. Thye only thing I'll agree with you on is that yes, Brock didn't win a championship here. Whose to say it wouldn't have happened under Murphy in 1984 but it didn't as he was in Hamilton. We'll never know if he would have. Clements was a great fit but he also lost 4 out of the 5 years he was the Bombers qb in the playoffs. Whose to say Brock wouldn't have won a couple of Grey Cups he had stayed. Clements & Brock were 2 of the Top 3 qbs in the CFL when the trade was made in 1983. The other qb played in Edmonton & he left for Houston the next season along with his Head Coach. So, to me it's a wash... Brock got some bad advice from his agent Gil Scott who soured him on playing here. Scott has always been about the money & never about the fit. If you read his book you'll know Brock regrets his actions & wishes he wouldn't have left. Even playing in the NFL for more money after he left Hamilton didn't change the way he felt. That it was a huge mistake & he has regrets today. But such is life. We all have different paths to wander. Some good & some not so good. It's up to us to make the best of it.... As far as your other takes here about the Bombers on this thread, well...
  3. If we win 12 games you'll insist we only really earned 4 of them & therefore don't deserve to be in the playoffs.
  4. Wait, I missed this. Brock was just a"good starter" ??? WTF?
  5. DL Rick Mohr of the 83 Argos Grey Cup team died of a heart attack. He was 60.
  6. Players don't get paid in the off season. So he wasn't playing. He got a bonus for signing but was going to return it.
  7. No, we understand your constant negative views, unfortunately. We read them all the time. The Bombers will never be good enough as far as you're concerned with always something to ***** about. You know what? I don't care if they were the third place team in the West. It made the run to the Grey cup that much better. To beat the Stamps & Riders in their buildings in front of their disbelieving fans, especially in Regina was so satisfying. Avenging that Western Final loss at Winnipeg Stadium that cut a hole in my heart from 47 years before... for me was something I waited a long time to see. Then to watch them physically dominate the so called best team in the CFL so much so that their star rookie qb had a meltdown numerous times was incredible to watch. Hamilton acted like a bunch of punks all week long leading up to that game & I enjoyed every moment of their suffering as it SHUT. THEM. UP. They were beaten so badly that the Tiger Cats have never said they beat themselves. It was an old fashioned ass whupping. So, they finished third??? So what? I don't care where they started in the playoffs as the West's third seed, it's where they finished that counted.
  8. They can't quit if they're not playing. You quit something when you don't finish it.
  9. Kenney will argue that the AZ vaccine is inferior & England based everything on that. Better yet, he was told by his stupic caucus to open the province up & have the Stampede. Then kick him out when we shut the province down again.
  10. Well, with that doom & gloom attitude it's a wonder we won. Then again, you've never given the Bombers any credit at any time the past 18 months for their Grey Cup win. It was nothing but flukey circumstances & the other teams beating themselves. What fan waits 29 years to see their team win a championship & then dismisses it all as nothing but good luck??? You can't even enjoy the Bomber win by thinking if the ball had bounced the other way on every big play they'd have lost.
  11. That was me...
  12. Dane Evans says hello.
  13. Why is a thread being dredged up that hasn't been commented on in a year? Hard to believe people go into the archives for something like this.
  14. It would have been fun to play them at IG Field.
  15. He didn't quit. He retired. He never left us in the lurch mid season. He did it the right way before the season started. When every other Bomber starter calls it a day on his career are you going to say they quit as well? Did Chris Walby quit? Lyle Bauer? James West? Tyrone Jones?
  16. Rightful home??? Who is he kidding??? The Riders have 4 Grey Cup wins. The Bombers have 11. Eskimos have 14. Argos have 17. The Riders do have more Grey Cup wins than the Elks.
  17. Obvious now that Stern or MLSE never had the support to derail this thing. The blowback for any owner who voted to cancel the season would have been tremenous. Tremendously BAAAAAAAD!!!
  18. I'd dump him. We need to have more flexibility with our salary cap. If he goes somewhere & dominates so be it.
  19. Less than 24 hours when we find out if the CFL has a season. Props to John Bowman for putting pressure on the Als owners by demanding the vote be televised. I'd like to see Argo player reps be as vocal as well.
  20. The great unwashed & tooth gap doubters will say they didn't catch Covid as it's fake. They caught something else like the flu.
  21. Not an unpopular take but that's not how universal healthcare works. No one can be denied. Those dickheads know that & are now crowding our ICU's across the country with Covid but saying it's something else. Congrats JCon!
  22. Was Larsen ever convicted? The Stamps haven't dealt with their own player (Pinto) with his sexual assault charges. They refuse to release him. At least the RedBlacks acted.
  23. CFL Double Standard when it comes to sexual assault on women... https://3downnation.com/2021/06/10/trivel-pintos-charge-reveals-double-standard-in-cfls-handling-of-violence-against-women/
