  1. Here's the thing... If Morrissey makes the team, is he ready for top pairing minutes with Buff? That doesn't feel right. But then, who partners with Buff? Chiarot? They paired well two years ago. But who else? Enstrom? That leaves a hole next to Myers Back to Morrissey for a sec.... If not Buff, then who? Myers? Postma? That means Stuart sits, right? Will they do that?
  2. So, Laine makes his debut tonight. Watched the draft at the Bomber game and will check out some of his first shifts tonight, via TSN Go, at the Bomber game too. Is it too much to ask for a hat trick?
  3. Must be a Nova Scotian thing.
  4. Marchand scored 37 goals for the Bruins last year. He's not riding on Crosby's coattails. Also, as is often mentioned, it's not easy to play with Crosby and not everyone fits in.
  5. Last time the Bombers lost to Calgary, they bounced back to beat Edmonton. We'll do it again tonight. I predict we take it to the Esks and, when all is said-and-done, we win by 17 points.
  6. He was better but still not at the level of his rookie year. He also faded when all the call-ups came (IMO). He looked dreadful against Calgary. I'm sure they'll give him a chance but he may start upstairs.
  7. Wow, no Lowry in there and he wouldn't be missed. Amazing how one year can change a player's fortunes. Of course, this means he sits upstairs and watches. Doubt he would clear waivers. I would like to see Armia get a shot over Burmi but would be fine either way. Would also prefer to have Dano on the 4th line, get a chance at the third, every so often.
  8. Matched only, in a historical context, with the Coliseum in Rome.
  9. Could also be a bit of goodwill gesture. Not going to play here, so he gets reps in HAM before trying out for the NFL. Not that Walters would be that benevolent but might have played a factor.
  10. Yes, and the Soviets sent their best players to the Olympics, while the Canadians didn't. The Soviets were good but not better, top-down, than the Canadians.
  11. What disadvantage are we in? We have top pairing right-handed defender who we control for four more years. He's in demand.
  12. Wow. And I'll add, I hate the neg list is not published. Makes no sense to me.
  13. We hardly knew ye. But boy, oh boy, did we fall in love with his scouting videos.
  14. Gotcha. That makes sense but it's not the way I read it. I guess I was expecting a like-player for a like-player (DL for DL). Not adding the OL, which was mentioned.
  15. I love that bit. Roster is full but expect another signing soon. Wait, what?
  16. That makes a lot of sense.
  17. We developed a player. If we're losing him, we should really get a developed player back. We need a better player than Russell. Maybe that player, as Unknown suggested, is available for cheap (but at the end of a higher end contract). I could go for a prospect if we're getting two blue chippers in return. But they have to be great.
  18. Maybe Fallout Boy can do a cover for us? Probably for the best. By the time it gets going, the next play will be on it's way.
  19. That 'punishment' is a joke. This is terrible. Hit a ref and we'll make you stand further away so you can't reach them next time. I'm surprised there's nothing in there blaming the ref for allowing himself to be hit.
  20. I do like that we wouldn't have to protect them. I think that there will be some great deals this year to help other teams get value for players that they can't protect.
  21. For Toronto, it starts and stops with Rielly. And why would TO do that?
  22. But Chychrun's not ready for topline minutes. Probably not ready for the NHL yet, either. If Jakob's coming, I want another elite prospect that's ready for the NHL.
  23. Ugh, yeah, no thanks. Wouldn't Soshnikov need to be protected next spring?
  24. Let it go! The past is in the past is part of the song. Not exactly the way it was written above. Source: have heard the song a million times with young children. We should use something more modern that will resonate with the players (and not necessarily the social crowd).
