  1. Wha??? No, Winnipeg has long been split three ways. And, the North goes NDP or Liberal.
  2. 8:30. Not yet closed. Ontario, west to Alberta close at the same time.
  3. Polls are one thing but you need to motivate the voters to out and vote. Local organizing is key. If voters are apathetic, they won't vote. Between the Cons, the Libs and the NDP, who do you think is most motivated to get out there? My guess is the Cons and the NDP. What I don't know is how motivated are Liberal voters to get there and ensure we don't end up with the disaster the Cons did with the pandemic? That's a bit of a mystery. Saying you would vote Libs to a pollster and actually going out to vote are two different things. Who's motivated?

    Covid-19

It was really good last year. One cold for each of my boys and that was it. I'm not convinced my youngest wears his all the time. My oldest, who's quite diligent got it from my younger son.
  5. Nike for me, not for thee.
  6. I bet you're right. I would be curious if he would stick around the NHL on a two-way contract?
  7. They didn't really for the past two years. A good minority gov't will play both sides to get what they want. Harper did that for a while, until the Libs and NDP thought they could take him down and flip the House. Didn't work out for them.
  8. I don't think it will last, which makes this an even worse gamble for Trudeau. He'll want out, so they'll need a new leader. Trying to convince anyone to prop up a gov't that's losing it's leader won't be easy. In fact, both Cons and NDP would be foolish not to take the opportunity to throw them out.

    Covid-19

I still live in a bit of a bubble. Kids being under 12, means that I am more careful about my interactions. My riskiest behaviour has been to take the park and ride to and from the game, plus using the WCs at the stadium. Funny how it revolves around the Bombers! Had to take both boys for Covid tests this morning due to them both having developed colds (hopefully).
  10. No one wanted to trade for him, even at minimum wage. Wow.
  11. Chara looking for one last chance to hoist Lord Stanley's Cup.
  12. Oh, he's done. I feel like this timing was to get a Liberal majority, so he could step aside in a safe way. Isn't going to work out that way but he'll still be gone.
  13. I've been told by O'Toole and Singh that Trudeau is incompetent and should be removed as Prime Minister? You don't believe that? I agree that it will probably be a Liberal minority.
  14. I have no idea what you're arguing about. It's just facts about how Canadian civics work. Go to Twitter to fight with someone.
  15. Put whatever money you want on it. If it's close, the Liberals will be invited to demonstrate they have the confidence of majority of the house. If they can, they'll continue to govern. I don't think the Cons will win a minority but, if they do, who would prop them up? How would they hold confidence? Only scenario I can see is the is the Libs propping them up while they go through a leadership "review" to replace Trudeau.
  16. The GG will decide who forms the next gov't. If the Cons get the most seats, they will get the first opportunity to form gov't. If they can't demonstrate that they can form a stable gov't, the GG may invite the others parties to do so. It's about stability of gov't, not owning Libs or personal. If the Cons could find dance partners, they could form gov't. If not, then the GG is obligated to give the other parties another chance. Again, no rules or precedents broken. And, by custom, the GG needs to let the Libs form gov't, if it's a minority, if they can. Mackenzie King formed gov't despite not having more seats than the Liberals did.
  17. Um, no rules or precedent change at all.
  18. It's really, really rare. But, I don't think the Cons would have a strong case to form gov't, unless they found a partner. It would create quite the adversarial parliament though and would be interesting.
  19. I want to keep Liegghio, regardless of what else happens. I just think he needs some time and a good mentor. I liked the idea of The Crap coming in and working with him. I bet he would have been well trained, had there been a 2020 season and if Medlock returned.
  20. I don't see the Conservatives actually forming gov't. They'll need a partner to hold them up. The Bloc? I bet, even if the Cons win the most seats, that the current gov't, with NDP backing, would be asked to form the next gov't. We'll see.
  21. Officially, they can be counted as soon as polls close to ensure someone with a mail-in ballot does not vote in person too. It may be that Elections Canada is not going to open them tonight, which I assume is a staffing issue. Polling suggests that mail-in ballots lean heavy to Liberals and NDP. But, I don't think that polling takes into account regional variances in voting patterns. So, each riding is likely different. Oh, and thank-goodness for independent election commissions!! I can't believe any first world country still relies on partisan commissions.
