  1. Hmmm.... A drop in STH from last season to this. Another losing season, likely the same folks in charge .....
  2. I'm going to call you out and say a large Bullshit! Then I'll offer a challenge, explain why keeping Walters and MOS is a good idea. Here's a question, and I realize it's a hypothetical but play along if you don't mind (Others as well if you feel so inclined). Consider the wins we have now this season, and the amount of games we've lost in the final few minutes this year. Now assume we build a solid offensive line, Drew Willy plays 15-17 games (it's rare to play all 18 after all) and we have a new OC - What do you think our record is? Just curious. Who the hell cares? The fact is if this was a GOOD team you wouldn't have to make excuses. Calgary, Toronto, Hamilton, Edmonton, and Ottawa have all had injuries and adversity and come out on top on a majority of their games. Winnipeg gets beat by one injury and the slightest whiff of adversity. If Willy was healthy we win two more games, three tops. If we had a different OC? The same two games. What you are forgetting is that most of our losses were not by a point or two. The point is moot. This isn't a good team or a close to good team playing below their abilities this is a bad team playing at the peak of their abilities. Three of those teams have had the same QB for every game this season (Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa), and the other two have unquestionably the top two defences in the league. Sure all of them have injuries as well, but keep in mind some those teams you mentioned (home games against Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa immediately come to mind) very likely are not losses given the scenario I provided. The injuries they have (nevermind their respective offensive staffs) aren't in the realm of ours either currently. Take away Mitchell, Harris, and Burris from their teams, do you think their records are anywhere near what they are right now? Not a chance. I get this sucks right now. I'm not happy with it either. I'm also not saying O'Shea and Walters are without their flaws, but welcome to football. No matter who we have in those positions, there will be screw ups and weaknesses. So full steam ahead with a crew that has clearly proven they cannot build a competitive team? For the record Willy's numbers were going down when he got hurt. So, if he stayed healthy I would guess our record would be the same. Also, we would not have Nichols so the chances of doing anything for the games you say Willy would not start would likely be losses. So with no other changes other than Marcel going into next year amounts to no record change. This is a bad team playing at their peak and not a good team underperforming.

  4. Jamal Westerman says HI, Drew Willy Says hello and Goosen and Chungh have looked promising but hey your record of 1 - 3 is worse than the bombers. I am only giving you the receiver one as still have not seen the ones we have in a real offence. Westerman, and Willy were both FAs, Chungh was a good signing but all the rest have been underwhelming. One regular starter in two years is ... Pathetic. Goossen is a second stringer. He likely wouldn't crack the lineup on any other team.
  5. Well I can confirm that there will be two less STH sitting behind us next year. A 26 year STH is calling quits. His wife and kids no longer care so he is packing it in. I suspect many more will too. I don't know if we will or not but at this point the only thing that makes it hard is losing prime seats and not the product product on the field. Every year this team makes me more and more a Calgary fan.
  6. I fully expect they will continue with Mack Junior and Coach Hugs and Kisses. I can tell you what to expect too. The same damn thing we got this year. Why do say that? Because they suck. of course they will only make the 2016 funeral service official after they have conned 20k of us fans back to watch the worst CFL team in the league.
  7. In no way am I not empathizing with STHs as they are the best in my mind. Frustrating seems to be a word that was specifically thought up for Bomber fans. Frustrating+ for STHs. No, I understand completely because the exhilaration that was once part of the game day experience has been drenched by ineptness, and it doesn't seem to end. Winning will cure that. Hoping to start....Saturday. I totally understand, Dee. If I lived in Winnipeg I would be a STH as I was one from 1974-99 before I moved to Calgary. As much as there are you that say we change things too much, we can't hang on to coaches & managers that fail to produce because we like them or that they deserve another chance. Pro sports is a results oriented business. We can't stand pat when things aren't working. The fanbase won't be happy if the only thing done is a change at the OC position. It is also 2015 it doesn't take and fans do not accept slow rebuilds.
  8. The unfortunate car. That was a nice old Thunderbird. It was a T-bird, wasn't it? I believe so.
  9. Hurl isn't quite as bad as everyone says, IMHO, but he DEFINITELY is only starting because he is in Winnipeg. He would NOT be a starter on any other team.
  10. The unfortunate car. The one young James Tiberius Kirk drove off a cliff? Yes (That jerk. Took me months to recover.)
  11. I would have to agree with you. While I do not have to drive too far (70+ kms), I still have to make a ton of arrangements to make it to games. I have only been forced to miss one game since 2003 ( a win no less ). More often than not in the last several years it is to be rewarded with absolutely atrocious play and a loss. I have been so angry at times that I fired off an email to and talked with pr staff (nice people but but they have a script they feed you every time, I feel sorry for them having to answer for really bad coaching and management). Like you I love the Bombers but haven't been in love with them for a while. Making the playoffs, while in my heart I want it, I think it would be very bad for the rebuilding(?) of this team. I want them to absolutely and unequivocally be squashed, stomped and embarrassed out of the playoffs so that it might, just might mean that we finally get that much needed independent assessment of this franchise to find out what in the inner workings of this organization is so hopelessly broken that it permeates its way onto the field of play year after year. This team has mostly sucked for 25 years and that is despite having a slew of really good players and coaches pass through. I want change, lasting change. Who knows? Maybe Mack Junior and Coach Hugs and Kisses are the right pieces but I believe only an independent assessor can tell us for sure. I sure as hell do not want to try another set of coaches, players, and management on just hoping that it is the right fit.
  12. While this is true in Winnipeg this usually means you put on the blinders and continue to drive over the cliff.
  13. There is no problem with it if it producing results. It is not and therefore those responsible should be up for review before continuing their employment. Why pay people for not fulfilling their job duties? This is a weird argument. I get the argument that Walters has struggled to find talent, but you're arguing that he shouldn't bring in any players to look for guys who are talented? Makes no sense. This is extended training camp essentially for every team in the league with the expanded PR. No I am arguing that our scouting and management are terrible, they wouldn't know talent if it came up and slapped them in the face. They bring in, pay money to and toss out these guys. Now it isn't the players fault for wanting a job and some cash but you have to ask some good hard questions about those doing the selecting. At this point management and scouting are the pits so this is a waste of money. Why flush cash when it is evident the system isn't producing? Hold off on it, because, face it, there are no saviours coming from the system right now. In the off-season reassess every aspect of the team (EVERY aspect) and only then turn the taps back on. I am all for bringing guys in and giving them a try but at this point it is a waste of time and money. Of course the many folks that think Walters and co are good are never going to agree. I expect that but this is a really bad team. Not a team that is a few players away from being good they are a mediocre bad team. They will only make a profit because of the GC game and when you are going to need every cent to bring in talent to fix it then why are they continuing to burn it on a wasted season? It seems weird to me that people would want this team to continue to spend money hand over fist this year when it is obvious they will need it for next season.

  15. Nothing wrong with that. Except that it shows how utterly pathetic our scouting and GM are. Actually quite the opposite.....because they're constantly working to upgrade, and not just sitting on "Ehhh, good enough....." Really? How many of these revolving door guys is on the roster right now? It is one thing to continue to bring in people but if it not producing anything of note then, well ... I would totally agree with you if there was evidence that it was producing results but like the rest of what this regime is doing there just isn't any evidence to back up all this faith people have in them. This is a 5-11 team that is only in the hunt for a play-off spot because there are equally crappy teams losing around them.
  16. Nothing wrong with that. Except that it shows how utterly pathetic our scouting and GM are.
  17. Yeah. Really don't care about this little Bomber news. I know some people were high on the guy but really he was just another over-hyped wannabe
  18. That would be the best thing to do. It will be an interesting next few games in the kicking department. As an aside, I have to wonder if depending on Lirim to do both punting and pk hurt his pk game? He was originally brought here for hid pk not punting maybe it finally caught up with him?
  19. Good game for him. Will wait to see what he does outdoors before crowning him a saviour.
  20. And an illegal block. We were over due to catch a break though. That wasn't a block. It was just a collision. Stoudermire was running his route and the BC player ran into him. I dunno. I thought they caught a break there. Intentional or not there was illegal contact.
  21. Ah the old casting dispersion upon other fans. "True fans" shouldn't judge others. You do realize that some of these "true fans" don't even have season tickets right? When are you and others going to realize that each person is going to approach a team differently? I cannot blame people for not wanting to watch or go to games. History says they are going to waste their time. However, it doesn't change the fact that most if not all of these "not true fans" want the team to succeed. Many or most of these "haters" know it shouldn't take more than 25 years to build a competitive team. At least two teams built a winner in the time the current regime has been in power and both had worse records than the Bombers. Some fans just don't know how to step back and take a good hard look and realize the staff they like so much are just not that good. I have no problem in seeing the issues with this team. But the team is very close, although you're right the rebuild is taking a little longer than it should. Either way, the "true fans" who gave up and decided not to watch last nights game sure lost out. I'm just saying I don't think it is very productive to make judgements on the fans. You should know that fans are fickle. There are plenty of people that are staying away from games but they are frustrated. It doesn't change that many of these fans want the team to succeed. I unfortunately had to miss much of the first half and could only listen to a majority of the second half. I am not a fan of the current regime and see lots wrong and do not believe this regime can build a winner. Despite this I still want the team to win.
  22. Stone cold call and the cajones the size of grapefruits.Nobody's gonna give him the love but he saved our season all on his own.One good call among so many crappy ones and people are willing to turn a blind eye. This team is 5-10 and has only beaten sub .500 teams. No matter what people think of their performances in the last three games this team is a long way from being good.I suspect though most will be happy with bumbling and stumbling along with the current regime just because MOS, Walters and co. are all really good charlatans. It isn't people being haters it is all about the real world and no matter how you cut it the Bomber are not a good team. Of course people are huge fans of mediocrity or less here which is why this very mediocre or less regime will remain in power and the Bombers will continue to hemorrhage fans and money. They are just lucky that they GC to save them from posting a loss this year. Bombers are a couple pieces from being a very good team. Could easily have 7-8 wins already this year. Hope that the bounces that went against us so far this season go our way the last 3 games. Two more wins could get us into the playoffs. Good teams find a way to win. Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, TO and Hammy all could have more losses but don't. 7 or 8 wins is no improvement. Of course I hope the Bombers succeed in making the play-offs but even if they do I don't see them going very far at all. Winnipeg still needs to improve on the oline, secondary, receivers, rbs, and probably at least one more threat on the dline. They definitely need improving in many aspects of coaching including HC. MOS just doesn't run a very tight ship.
