lol, I think thats lost right now. Im a westerman fan, but like willis he got more off sides penalties then sacks. I can specifically recall 2 last year where he was drawn off sides, the other team took a free play and scored on it. Penalties after the play or penalties before. In general id much rather have penalties from aggressive play then ticky tack calls (hands to the face, illegal contact) and have a team that plays on the edge then comes out soft.

Could be a dark year for buonos exit.

Id take any of the big 3 mlbers available. Any of them would be such a gigantic upgrade for us, it wouldnt be funny. Muambas familiarity with the city and pass port would make him the highest on the list though. I dont think we did, but winning the turn over battle is a huge advantage in the game. If you win the TOP and turn overs you wil a hell of a lot of games. 2nd and long plays that are short of the first down can also make a big difference in an on going battle of field position. If its 2nd and 20 and you pick up 10 yards and punt, that makes a noticeable difference in the game when you are trading field goals or each threatening to drive into FG range regularly. Gotta keep em honest for sure, but its one part of our offense im in strong agreement with.

That depends on if they still want to rotate DL a lot. Especially ends. Walters sounded like he didnt want to, but roh makes it seem other wise. Imo, jeffcoat has more upside then ogopogo or roh. They are all in a similar level in terms of pass rushing skill. Ogopogo a bit more polished. But jeffcoat only has one partial year under his belt. Itll be much clearer to see this year how jeffcoat performs, but i can see him stepping up and becoming a 20 ish sack guy. Hes that good. Roh also brings an edge to our DL. Our OL has a bunch of nasty hard nosed guys. Our dl not soo much. Its good to have that guy with gravel in his gut and spit in his eye. And since we can rotate him, we can limit the cost of penalties. It would also give us the chance to make subs and use one of the ends as a jack-lber, a stand up pass rusher. In place of the times we sent hurl to no affect what so ever we could send one of those three off an edge or through a twist gap etc.

So a 2nd and long play?

They didnt over pay, they paid the bare minimum to attract vets to a dumpster fire that has been taking high level FAs and turning them into un wanted junk. Some men you just cant reach. Reed doing his best to be the worst gm of the decade.

Soo true lol. But with the ability we have (on paper) to spread the field in all directions that can actually be successful. Id still rather see more of those routes be slants / short inside post/corners that get the ball into the hands of the WR with out breaking stride. The esks with ray et al used to be masters of seam buster routes like that.

With thomas a FA, westy gone, and roh I think our chances of starting a NI dl are low. Roh, jeffcoat and ogopogo are all too far a head of corney. Short of corney putting it all together. We can count on 2 ni ol, 1 ni wr, 1 ni rb, 1 ni S. Id like to see us start a 2nd ni wr (coates atm) and have that wr platoon with lafrance. Muamba would make the ratio in that situation work perfectly. While we have some young NI dbs and OL with potential to step in and corney as well. Atm id rather project foketi as a starting OL then return to newfie or push one of the young guys too soon. I think couture/spooner is the future of our ratio along with jones/morgan.

muamba woods or taylor reed would be a huge upgrade. Ideally we sign one of them to an incentive laden deal, then bring in some prospects to push said MLBer hard. But if we got any one of the three id be over the moon. After that IDK how much better our off season could get.

Aside from being one guy in the face of a mountain of names who didnt come back at all, he was 30 in his come back season and recovered at 29. Mo was 31 when he blew it out. Those couple years believe it or not do make a difference. One successful case also doesnt change the probability. Want to buy some used lotto tickets? They COULD be winners.... This type of injury past 30 isnt like a pulled hammy. Its like your third TJ surgery on the ucl. "that on average players took eleven months to return to play, had an average 50 percent reduction in power ratings, and around 30 percent never returned"
-
He needs seasoning for sure and yeah that era was rough in general for them. Hes my ideal type of guy for a no3 spot. Have him do holding on field goals, short yardage and you can use him in an option package. If the no1 qb goes down you dont change any thing on hold/short yardage. If you end up at your no3 qb for any length of time might as well be some one who can run the option and churn out some steady yardage. He may develop into some thing special as a starter. Or he may be bryan bennett with a much better passing acumen.

Bond is going to be moved over to tackle. We know there isnt a better guard in the cfl, tackle is a whole other game. Its like the green twilight zone of cfl fa.
-
Cody fjardo signs with bc. I low key hoped we'd get him some how. I always worry when wally gets a qb.
-
Plop must be breathing into a brown paper bag right now. Over loaded with excitement at what can be done. Stretch the field side line to side line, break Ds with runs up the gut, stretch the ball down field, catch and run guys this offense is filthy. Depth at qb to boot. On paper this offense rivals the best weve put together in a hell of a long time.
-
And then neglects the run game entirely for the next 2 quarters of football. But seriously if we deploy that properly, two back with harris and lafrance and use demski in the jet sweep stuff, with dressler, adams and bowman to stretch the field length wise, forget about it. That is an OCs wet dream for offensive weapons.

Not to mention the level of play most players return to after the age of 30 from an achilles. But who has time for science when blind faith says hes stil Mo. And mo knows football. Im not holding my breath. If half way through next year mo is close to the mo of old, ill be tickled. I love mo. Im pulling for him. Weve had guys who were good players (and not) that I didnt really like but hoped would work out. Mo is borderline blue bomber royalty. Hes an all star in the community, and as a person. And he conducts him self in a manner more people should strive for. And hes one hell of a football player. A guy who does all the little things that made careers like wade millers, while being incredibly talented and athletic as well.
-
More likely his college listed size was bunk. A lot of schools will list guys at what ever they say instead of what they measure out at. Certainly a guy poised to make things happen in camp this year. I take every thing that comes from riderville with a severe grain of salt. That said its possible. Hes still a guy who is incredible at scraping to the ball and making hard tackles. He is also a guy you dont have to hide on passing downs. And hes a strong teams player. Henoc muamba is just a damn good football player. Hes the type of Mlber you want. If you replaced hurl with henoc last year the season would have been a lot different. I dont think we could find or get a better player or fit at MLBer. Iirc we gave hurl some thing like 80-100k last year. Id give henoc 200k right now no questions asked.

Whats that site? ive never heard of it before. 6'1 228 is not above average for a LBer in the nfl. Thats the problem. That said a guy like him (and most who get an nfl look tbh) could make a full career go of it if they put 100% effort into teams play every play and in prep. Instead of the classic de/lb tweener hes a newer lb/db tweener. Big for a db small for a lber. Awesome combo for up here though.

We had to over pay, and be thankful as all heck when a guy like bryant chose to slum it with us. Now our management has us in the a premier situation we have seen the likes of in ages.
-
I think its more ebb and flow. We will see spikes and dips as teams free up salary and break down to utter rebuild levels. Despite montreals best efforts last year every team in the league could well believe they are 1 or 2 key guys from making a run. 2-3 years from now I could see another huge FA period. Till then I expect much more like this. Yeah I would not worry about his age. His pass port easily out shines that. Explosiveness, drive and technique are huge at rush end. Dont agree that strength diminishes with age. Certainly not the on set of 30 ish. Quickness sure. 2015 westerman, worth 200k. 16, not. 17 was on track to be close in production. But he hasnt adapted to the way teams play him nearly as well as teams have adapted to him. I think jeffcoat in a full season next year emerges as an elite + pass rusher. At a fraction the cost.
-
What more do we hope for at this point? Westy back at a reasonable price would be great. But im more then good with the DL we have now. I might rather have jake thomas back then westerman actually. Weve shored up our WR core in a huge way, Dbs, no2 qb and NI depth after the first day of free agency. NI wise, id love to see us start 2 wrs, 3ol, 1 rb, 1s, Lafrance vs flanders will be interesting.

also that

Or the money just isnt available after the previous couple years of frenzy. Probably a bit of both though.

You could chalk OL into the highest need in draft preparations for every team in the league every year. Its nearly impossible to go wrong drafting OL. It may not go right, a better player at another position may crop up after the OL. But no one will question the pick of an OL if they are close to that pick range in talent. I feel like we are in a great spot in terms of NI talent and young ni talent on the OL. We can grab positional needs, BPA, highest potential and or futures.

MO back to S, fenner at sam loffler to LB dare to dream.
