Now we just need to go on and win the grey cup
-
Capped by a td
-
Tony jones struggles in coverage Whistle needed to blow. They just keep letting him push after being stopped.
-
Ayers soo good at beating guys 1on1. Also the trews are awesome and that performance live was great. More of that please cfl.
-
That’d be a nightmare for offences to defend.
-
And year 2 adams is a force.
-
Amazing how much pressure we get with Adam’s and Lawson at dt
-
Keys to the game ol. Lots of change, but we need them to play well together to get our offence going. strevy. Gotta take what the D gives, not force throws or running. Play qb and run for easy yards if the opportunity is there. Secondary. They need to start out hot this year for us. The Leo’s can move the ball through the air and get hot. If we limit them through the air it’ll give us a great shot. Players to watch, Parker, Lawson, Randolph, and sterns. Those guys producing would give us a huge boost.
-
Thing is, we are silly over run at lber and db even compared to normal. We could have teams help in other guys like bailey too. Its just an odd depth chart.
-
225 to 230 range isn’t impossible to play edge at. If you’re quick and have good hands you could have a hay day with slow tackles. He’s got the tenacity and intangibles but man I’d rather see him polished in camp and pre season then eased in if that’s the goal. If any thing I’d probably toss tony jones to edge in a bind.

To an extent that is a problem yes. I'd love to see AR expansion. But not to the degree we have it. Yeah probably. I think it's gonna be a tough close game. They have, but even by those standards, our pass rush was bad last year.
-
Vaughters was picked up as a cut prior to free agency. Logan is hurt.
-
We used all our roster flexibility to put every backup possible at LBer and DB. And to start 3 American ol. Maybe its a decent chance this doesn't end up biting us in the butt. But boy is it risky, especially for the game 1 roster. Just 1 or 2 injuries for the game at positions other than DB/Lber would have us cooked.
-
Yeah, and with the cap space sunk cost fallacy shouldn't be too strong. I think we are all just disappointed that of our 3 "big" free agent splashes, 1 is on the IR and 2 are on the PR/scratched.

2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Thread
wbbfan replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Coaches coach better same thing happens. Before last year, we played it pretty close down to the wire and came up short. Coaching would've made a bigger difference in those years. Last year was such a mess of poor play and coaching, but we should've been able to beat up on a team QBd by arbuckle. -
Yeah and go after nfl cuts aggressively if they fit our need. Idk about Lofton. Fringe guy missing this chunk will have a serious uphill battle. Unless Randolph fails, he’s gonna be in a bad spot in a month.
-
Could be fit with hogans system.
-
I don’t think it’s about decisive wins at these positions as much as group under performance. I love sterns heart and motor. Full effort blocking despite his size. I hope he surprises us. I think we are all disappointed and rightly so, in the way the battle went for the last wr spot. Sterns over white seems surprising. I know they really liked sterns intangibles but white seemed to have a good edge.

2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Thread

If you aren't going to carry a backup imp Wr, might as well carry 2 Canadians. especially if 1 has actual roster value. -
This is not football from 25 years ago. 1 back in the nfl last year averaged 20 carries a game for the season. The best running backs in the world do not take all the carries anymore. And this isn't a new thing. Also, short of injury corcoran isnt getting 3 snaps either. Cobb in even for Corcoran would make a lot of sense.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
wbbfan replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
WJ has experience at wr, wanna flip him out there? The back up, corcoran only has cis experience. We did it because we had to, thats the point. If we end up in that situation, it's MCI/corcoran at wr. MCI isn't close to becoming a skill position player atm. -
I'd flip griffin to starting corner, take bridges off and put cooley on. That leaves us with Vaval as the dime and kr, plus ayers/shay/smith who can fill in in a pinch as the dime wil, or S. Carrying 2 back up imp dbs, plus ayers who has played some S and Sam in camp/pre season, and shay/smith is pretty wild when you have no back up imp wr, rb, de, or dt. At that point, I'd actually go with another imp DL over cooley currently. But I'd take off an IMP lber for cooley/an imp wr as well. Youre stuck on cooley is a starting wr now! No one is making that case. He'd be a sub pack player as a varied back field threat, and the back up imp wr in case of injury that we do not have. Cooley as the emergency wr > Just corcoran. 2 guys go down MCI is playing wr, and he's not even a RB yet.
-
Yeah, world of difference. As a backup / rotational slot, you can do a lot of extended hand-off stuff, on top of all the two-back stuff. Vs being 5 yards off the DL reading and reacting, or being heads up on a 6'4 300 lbs tackle. You don't have to throw at a WR to make use of them. Playing on the edge, the game is up in your face a second after the snap for every snap you're on the field.
-
No snaps that I saw or heard of. But we have thrown Lbers to the wolves a few times at DE. We threw Lucky and Weitz into the grinder on DL a couple of times last year. Despite neither really playing it before, and Lucky being more of a DB than even a LB. We threw Hansen into it as well, though he was built for it. If we run a good chunk of 40 front, He will very likely be thrown into the mix. If he isn't thrown in, I'd expect to see a decent number of snaps with 2 Canadian DTs, with Adams on the edge opposite one of Vaughters/wj. If we run a lot of 30, Ayers likely doesn't see a snap on the edge.

Imo, the top teams are not. Montreal walked away from Fajardo, Toronto cut Carey, Bc moved on from Vaj, and others. The bottom tier of teams (Edmonton, Calgary, and Hamilton) brought in wholesale change, adding top-level talents. We are basically on the treadmill tier with Ottawa. I bet the opponent looks at a few positions and say ok, how can we exploit this? Last year, teams exploited our DL not by attacking our weakest guys but by gang blocking WJ and forcing us to beat better blockers 1 on 1 with green under performers. They treated our WR core and OL similarly.
