Honestly I look at his sitting a year as a blessing. He has been carrying a tremendous work load the last few years. A year off from being hit will only be good imo. I have 0 concerns about him staying in shape and being sharp. Truth. And that is a TON of insurance behind harris. You almost never have 3 guys of depth behind a canadian starter like that. Oliviera and borsa are athletic studs too. We also have demski. In the event of a harris injury or collapse we would likely see a RB by committee for a bit where demski took half of the reps and another guy took the other half. While maybe a dynamic threat like borsa would be worked in. I have reservations about augustine, but he has not been a guy who under performs. Hes an over achiever no question. I think he will end up 3rd on that back up list but hes a scrappy guy. You cant ask to be in better shape for backing up your franchise NI ratio breaker. And yeah we could always move the ratio around and bring in an Imp rb where itd be easy to make up production if all 4 of those guys failed, and harris was an issue. I think positions like qb and wr have far more pressing concern. In his time here demski has ran for 400 ish yards at a 6.5 ish yard per carry average. Borsa, oliveira and augustine are on top of that. I could see borsa working in some, he would bring another dynamic to our offense. Oliveira might bring more power but other wise I dont see us forcing either of those guys into too many carries.

100%. the 2 articles on 3dn about labatte retiring (he would be 37 and out of football for 2 years next, thats what this is) seem to have only the mildest concern for them replacing half their OL. They dont even have a lot of league back up experience. Hardrick and couture probably have more combined cfl games then their entire roster of OL. I wouldnt be surprised if neuf and gray or desjarlais combined for more too. Or if bryant alone was close to matching their entire unit. Fajardo has a big step to make going from a first year starter to succeeding consistently after other teams have a good amount of film on him in the cfl. 1 spin move and 1 pattern created a TON of their success last year. That has to grow exponentially to continue succeeding. That was their primary limiting factor before they lost half their OL. At one point in time, Rick mirer was touted by no less than bill walsh as the next joe montana. He had a better rookie year than drew bledsoe, despite taking a TON more sacks. And in that rookie year he also had at most 5 passing plays, almost never checked down, and had a gigantic split for favored side of the field. In year 2 bledsoe smashed mirers production on an epic level as mirer was never able to adapt to more than he could execute in his first year. He became a huge draft bust with 26 more picks than tds and 20+ loses more than wins. Fajardo has to over come what mirer didnt. And with out a stable OL.

Im also seeing a LOT of cats fans pining for masoli to start. Dane was not ready for our defense in the GC, and thats a lot to ask of any qb little on one with his lack of experience. But I would be ride or die with dane evans. That kid is crazy talented and I wouldnt be surprised if he is in the nfl when his deal is up. Masoli wouldve gotten slapped every bit as bad vs our D in the gc imo. Look at BLMs play off record and look at what he did vs us. Iirc globals and draft year players dont count against that right? We basically have 2 years worth of off season pick ups on DL, DB, WR and OL. I imagine the mafia are waiting to see if any of those guys call it quits before they go and make the bottom off each group. I also wouldnt be tremendously surprised to see both imp rbs cut to make room. Both are talented versatile guys, but with borsa, augustine, and brady behind harris Its tough to see any imp having any chance. The shortened TC/PS window is really going to hurt. Especially positions like WR and OL that are frequently slower to learn and perform at for pure rookies.

Truth. And that those guys are worth way more then our guys. In fact they'd be doing us a favor if they traded one of their back ups for desjarlais, eli, and gray. 😉 If some how we had to change our OL whole sale over night from the anchors weve had Id have no concern with the talent level. But it would take a good while before that group played well as a unit consistently. Year 2 would be closer to the performance we expect this year. For the riders that OL looks 2 years away from being 2 years away. Our DL must be drooling looking at that OL.

I know people who streamed the games on tsn.ca internationally in the past. And if it messes with our TV deal its our problem too. Seems like a big risk. They can but doesnt every one have a VPN to watch American and other countries netflix? That also reduces the TSN streaming value mid contract. Idk about it being the Canadian equivalent of Seinfeld. Id say its more like a Canadian version of Fraser.

I dont see harris calling it yet. My dark horse would be darvin adams. Hes had a lot of ups and downs, fought a bunch of injuries and the nfl window is closed. Hes a very physical blocker, and that takes a lot out of you. The big thing thatll push guys to retirement though is their home life. Guys who got great jobs in the missing season and may not be able to return to it.

Physical, tight cover and makes a lot of plays thats a good score.

QFT. You sum it up pretty well. Im about as comfortable with mcguire as our back up as I can be in any qb with that amount of experience. I would love to have a guy who can step in and win games right away on the bench. Especially behind collaros. But right now those guys are few and far between. And we can use that cap money in better ways. If streveler becomes a real option Id be happy to have him back, but tbh im not sure if he is that guy either. He can bring a lot, and a worst case scenario of a 2 man show with him and mcguire couold be pretty good. But idk if at this point in his development if he is ready to step in and win games on his arm alone. It takes dual threat qbs longer to come around like that.

It's a tremendous pick up for the coaching staff. We are loaded with front 7 talent that can benefit from his wealth of knowledge and coaching

Wouldnt be surprised to see a flurry of moves now by each team to round out its TC roster. That explosive quick twitch guy whose speed doesnt translate as much to the 40 time. Gonna be lots of dangerous hungry young wrs looking to make a name for them self in camp this year.

Ed philion and his late hits on khari jones. I cant say enough bad things. His blind side crazy late cheap shots to khari directly led to his career falling off early. Guys that tore us up and I had a love hate relationship with, AC, ricky ray, and flutie for being a GC machine. Davis sanchez, john bowman, kenton keith, andre rison, robert baker, after they left blue n gold i grew to hate brian clark and arland bruce.

It can, but then when he was off it you wouldve seen a drop off. Also there is no way any one would take that stuff in a micro dose and have such an expectation that the placebo effect kicked in. .3 seconds on google would dispel that. If he had been found with any kind of semi modern juice in his system, I could have seen it. Or even more if he had been caught with a blocker which far more people get busted for. IF he was a high school or college kid with no money I could see that too. But for a professional athlete with his considerable resources and finances I can not see taking that on purpose. Ive known plenty of guys who juiced on cheap and expensive salaries. No one making 50-100k is using that as their PED. I honestly expect them to be the fall down team of the year. The biggest step back of all the play off teams. My bias is strong no doubt. But I liked fajardo before he was a rider. After what we saw in 2019 he needs a huge step forward to match his production.

Harris wasnt barred for life pretty big difference. And how many different front offices where home to each of those skeletons? Maybe not, But we will know that the micro dose of what he had wouldnt have any marked increase in performance.
