  1. https://www.cfl.ca/top-performers-2/ No bombers, in fact none in the top 12 for the year. https://3downnation.com/2021/09/14/winnipeg-being-winnipeg-doing-dirty-stuff-riders-dumbfounded-andrew-harris-was-not-ejected-after-melee/ What clowns.
  2. Omg yes. And that if kenton keith got as many carries as blink he'd put up way more yards. That him and holmes were both better. I also remember blink being pulled from the game and the bombers thinking he had a meniscus tear but it was turf toe. And for a game and a half Mike Sellers was our half back. And in one of those games he destroyed the riders defense to a hysterical degree. I also remember keith stokes filling in at RB for a game and being very dynamic. At his peak, the down fall though came quickly.
  3. Maybe the most under rated bomber of the last 20 years, gavin walls. He didnt have the 10 year career to get to the hof sack level but for 5 years he was some thing special. For games, Id submit a 3 game series. The year is 2000, the enemy is the montreal alouettes. Montreal was a contender, a 12 win team that year. We had been stuck in the dark ages for far too long. But coach Ritchie and his guys showed what was to come. 3 regular season games against the als. We lose by 2. We win by 3, we lose by 6 then we lost by 11 in the east final. We also played them in the pre season and lost 38-22. 4 games and us being a hungry team on the come up made for bad blood. A LOT of bad blood. We fought and clawed, constantly on the verge of play off elimination that year. Starting out 1-3-1. We finished 7-10-1 OT, and toronto finished 7-10-1. But we lost an over time game to break the tie in the standings and go back to the play offs . I firmly believe that these games with the Als are what steeled our core and prepared us for the 2001 run. In the week 11 (I think not sure) match up I remember it being back and forth, close down to the wire. Montreal was deep in our zone and went for it on 3rd and goal. Lamar mcgriggs hurried AC who threw incomplete. And was flagged for RTP. The call was horrible and the fans erupted. We ended up getting flagged for throwing junk onto the field as well. But we went on to win and the crowd reaction was as if we had won a play off game. Dont have any links to the other games, but here is the east final. In the early 2ks I hated the als much more than the riders. That rivalry was pretty tough for a while.
  4. Banks quits, if he gets hit. Or if he doesnt get the ball. Or if the gets the ball too much. Or if he doesnt get the call he wants. Or of he drops the ball. Or if his bidet doesnt play let it be and contain rose pedal water.... If I made a list of my top 5 least favorite cfl players, he would probably take 2 or 3 spots.
  5. I miss typed it. Its Glenn young not jordan younger.
  6. He fell back with two dl on him watch jake thomas' helmet rides up into fajardo's and drives his head back to the turf. 4.27 set speed to .5
  7. Lets also remember that We were running troy mills and eric blount twice as much as we ran blink, while mills and blount struggled to get 4 yards per touch and blink was getting almost 7 per touch. He also played 17 games in 2001. Blink would lead a drive down to the deep red zone then he'd get pulled out for blount and mills to finish the drive. A lot more players today would quit if they had to put up with that, and not "quit" by playing all but 1 game. (iirc he was on the PR for week 1)
  8. Iirc plop only played at like a d2 or d3 level. But yeah, qbs do generally make better OCs.
  9. Its hard to tell with his lack of play time over the past few years but yeah, all i see is him kicking off a tee. I think they will want to go forward with legs and putting him on the PR would be pretty crushing. I could see mourtada taking over the kick off duties too perhaps. They should get bob cameron to come in and coach legs on punting.
  10. For the time being im giving younger the benefit of the doubt. I can see the argos hanging them out to dry. I hope its not some anti vax bs. IF it is then to hell with both. Yeah. That hit was brutal. Jake and willy coming down on him and his head was driven into the turf. Scary stuff. Kid is tough as nails and competitive af. Itll be interesting to see how long he is out. They shouldnt rush him back. You dont screw around with concussions, especially with a mobile qb.
  11. Their tackles have been getting rekt by ok dls. If our DL doesnt have their best game of the year ill be shocked. The elk have some good offensive weapons and balance. But they dont run to pass, and they dont pound the rock unless its late in the game. I view wilder the same way as harris. Hit him in the mouth early and often, make it a dirty physical game and watch him disappear.
  12. Legs is 9th in average punting yards, and 9th in average kick off yards. The average NET yards punting are 8th, and .1 yards off last place. His Net yards have been spiraling down. The last 3 games hes struggled to be above 30 yards net per punt. When your punt yards gained is in the 20 range you may as well just go for it on 3rd down. The problem with his punting is he kicks it between the hash marks and makes it easy on returners. He doesnt use the side line well to help his cover team. He's also shanked too many punts and kicks offs to this point. They arent going to give up on him any time soon, but his punting and kick offs are bad. He leads the league in total yards because he leads the league in total punt and kick off attempts. I wouldnt be surprised to see the new american kicker on the roster soon. I think itll take a full failing of that and further implosion by legs to get some one like lirim here sadly. I dont think Mourtada is going to punt.
  13. The 2001 OC was rick worman. 2000 was an OC by committee. From then till late in his career here khari called his own plays. He and AC where about the last to do it.
  14. That guy is such a damn clown. Addition by subtraction and we got a really good db.
  15. It interesting, he doesnt have a lot of experience but made pretty good use of the NFL remote coaching program for kickers. They worked over time to dig this guy up. Should be interesting to see how he does. Getting him and bryant was massive. You dont often have two winning successful guys like that who are willing to commit fully to a young team like that. Mo leggett was a rookie that year, but he was a big part of establishing bomber football too. It sucks those two missed out on getting rings.
  16. I think we will see harker and maybe lynch. But I also think we will see how qb friendly that system is. And how minimal the requirements are to run it.
  17. He was 100% canned here twice, canned in sask, hamilton, toronto and about to be sacked again in ott. He got promoted in sask, because of the austin and doug berry mess above him. Thats it. The CFL loves to recycle. Especially coaches, and OCs. Do you remember the last paopao come back? If youve ever held a coaching job in the CFL and arent over the hill in age (some times even still) you can float between jobs. Going from a HC to a WR coach under 3 guys with HC exp is about as far as you can fall and stay in the league.
  18. Our old buddy rich stubbler is gonna be running the TO defense this week while jones does his quarantine. Might be time to start putting money on the riders lol.
  19. So darby for pretty much free.
  20. Yeah missing starting qbs hurts every one . Masoli has been on the 1g injured list. But he will have to be revoked, david watford went in for them this week. He's the only other qb they have on the roster. So unless they ****** a vax'd qb from another teams PR or trade for one, they wont have enough.
  21. The teams record when youre on it doesnt much matter, if youre carried. If you think he was any thing less than carried by offensive talent in his first go around, then D, medlock, harris and the OL the 2nd your fooling your self. Or maybe just trolling idk. Who knows why every team in the league keeps firing the guy on average after 2 years. You should maybe call around and tell them the spiel about the GC ring and play off games. Great teams have won at all levels in all leagues with poorly run and in effective offenses. Youd be hard pressed to find a worse passing team in a year to win the grey cup. Probably have to go back to the wing T era. Just because we won, doesnt mean we didnt carry plop. If we had a good or great OC, we have another grey cup and a fist full more play off wins.
  22. Dane evans out 4-6 weeks. ooof. https://www.tsn.ca/hamilton-tiger-cats-dane-evans-out-4-6-weeks-1.1693141
  23. Tim burke 2.0. But sad for every one involved he fell into juuust the right circumstance to squeeze enough wins out to over achieve. And had the right fan base to hype them into the stratosphere. Not to mention just the right tools at qb to make up for not being good.
  24. He did though. He forced them into his role. They couldve done more in a better system that played to their strengths. As much as possible, khari and milt pushed out side the boundaries of his system. You should also go back and see the amount of plays khari called in 2002. And audibles made. You dont seem to understand the difference between changing for the sake of change, and working wrinkles in and setting up progressive plays. You screen/hitch then you double move screen / hitch and go. Plop screen / hitched 90 times, then threw an out. He ran inside zone read from pistol/gun 90 times, then he ran a direct snap inside zone read. The defense takes away the screen pass, you adjust by play action screening one side, and jail break screen or liberty hand off to a jet sweeper. Ocing is about tendencies. You have to have plays that break your tendencies, and you have to have plays that your tendencies set up. So when teams take away your bread and butter you can have steak. Plop has never understood that. He has tendencies, if the D takes them away he keeps on going to them. To shake them up he mixes in random un related tricks and gadgets. And generally I love tricks and gadgets. But he used them worse than any other OC in the last 20 ish years. People hate mediocrity. More then epic failure. Maybe gary crowton or one of a mix of OC by committee was the worst Ocing we ever saw in bomber ville. But the most absolutely mediocre OC with no signs or seeming interest in improving was plop. Its worse in pro sports to be mediocre than bad. You can turn bad around fast, mediocre stays that way for a long time. Mike kelly and sean salisbury had great accolades and grey cup too. Then milt, brown, blink and khari didnt get one. Doesnt mean they are good or where better. Dont forget too, the bombers had the greatest turnover forcing defense in league history, and most field goals ever to carry the mediocre passing game. And an excellent resurgent qb to carry our passing game to the GC. Nichols and plop should split their ring with Mo leggett and some others. Plop is the poster boy for mediocrity.
