GDT - Ti-Cats @ Bombers. Week 1
Has any one else not seen the game day depth chart from the cats?

Could’ve called back a guy from tc perhaps. if szott/scmekel aren’t scratched those are the two worst players on active rosters in the league this week.

They could just coach up Bennett and have him do the rb duties. His athleticism size and leverage would probably be good at it.

If the mop played like the mop we would’ve won by 3 tds minimum. The play call with prukop was the problem on that play. The top of the list is our highest paid leaders who under performed. Front 6, collaros, WRs.

I hope we do, but I worry this is walters last year here. A lot of things cost us that cup. And legs isn’t high on the list.

Same with walters, Mac, and a few others.

Sucks about miller. Not surprised to see Jackson get a look. Think he’s gonna over achieve. Looking at that I suspect szott will be the scratch. A big key to victory for us is going to be how many Carrie’s / rushing yards the cats get. If they keep it the old 5 Carrie’s at best a game and blm has to drop back 40+ times it’s hard to see them having any success. On offense if we get early success with the run game collaros will have a clean productive night. The run is soo critical to taking pressure off collaros and giving him angles of escape. yeah down side of an older roster.

Did he play pre season? I feel like her was hurt kind of early in camp

With the management cap I think we will see a trend of hc GMs again. It’s hard to pay both under the cap. Since walters has stayed this long and with no deal for next year I think he’s as happy to be here as any one.

Injuries turn over in positions and end of the season packing it in early. Ol struggled lots especially early to mid last year. Dbs saw a ton of change and a couple guys struggle continually. No nose tackle really hurt our front too. That said if Jeffcoat was healthy he might’ve been the no1 de for pressures.

Yep. Karamoko is much more useful on D. With 4 DEs dressed we sure don’t need mauro on D. Yeeep. It’s frustrating watching the coaching staff make life harder for the team with game day rosters.

Getting torched they leave him probably. Other wise Kramdi to Sam and Darby to that spot.

They are basically just using it like a di. Unless they intend to rotate grant in a package which I doubt. Sad but not surprising.

Laughs in Schmekel and clements. In Houston’s first stint on the active roster he struggled too. Went back to the pr came back last year and was drastically better. Usually dbs translate fast to the cfl. But not always.

Many things can be said of va. Head on straight isn’t one of them. agree. And despite how great mos has been if we have to choose between walters and mos, I’d keep walters.

I think that’s clements this year.

Or more recently when any contact down field on a wr was pi. From the sounds of it mos doesn’t have a lot planned for it yet. Though maybe it’s just him being tricky. Dl/db/wr will make the most sense for any team imo.

I think blm is toast. fajardo might do a bit better in the soft east division but still not great. I think Dane will take over in bc but falter in the end same as always. I think our D will play well. Secondary should be really good. Darby looks as good as ever. I expect to see some blm on the turf and getting mad on the sideline.

He won’t stick up here that long. Nfl bound for sure. This team always has to have a holm. This forum would be way too boring other wise.

This is a great point. Wally hasn’t been a great x and o guy. I wouldn’t even say he was a great developer. He recognized ast coaches who covered for his short comings extremely well and developed fantastic culture. More than any thing he knew character and what was needed. Which goes hand in hand with being a contract clean up guy after franchises bottom out. I can only imagine how good edm would be if they had listened to him about a hc.

CFL - Pre-Season - All Your Non-Bomber News/Talk - 2023
A lot of teams that stop being terrible fail to recognize the difference between a great winning culture and great guys to hang out with. I guarantee the practices and locker room on Jordan’s bulls was not easy going. Greatness comes at a steep price. One that can only be paid when all the players buy in to the team being more important than any individual. Most teams that go from bad to in the play offs never take the next step to contention because they won’t or don’t even know the price of admission. We built around guys like randle and Bryant, who came in with that knowledge. They lead by example and taught the guys we had. If a guy played well but didn’t buy in they were gone. We built around culture and work ethic. Not a star player or athletes or a strategic concept.

Pro football is not the soap box to stand on for looking down upon criminal records. We all know that it’s an escape for people in the hardiest circumstances in North America. most every immigration problem in the cfl and in the country as a whole, is a criminal issue.

week 1 talk
Mos has a tendency to fall in love with underachieving athletes who aren’t pro players and over achieving guys who aren’t pro athletes.
