  1. Yep. I’d love to see a league wide retention rate for teams draft picks. I bet it’d be almost completely flipped. It does need to be said though that the argos success is largely based on ni quality and depth. On one hand it sucks to lose guys. But on the other it’s great for the team and the league to have guys like kongbo, desjarlais, and Alford down south. When those fringe nfl Canadians, d2 guys and high end candian prospects look at the league they can see examples where they dont have to start to succeed but can earn key play time right away and make the nfl in a hurry. And if it doesn’t work out get paid like mad to come back. the big difference between xfl usfl and the cfl is the cfl gets a ton of fringe nfl players. The xfl and usfl are still getting mostly fringe cfl players.
  2. Lol no pressure. Ideally they can find another stove clone and have a competition in camp between them. The only thing Goodson leaves you wanting for is another of him. Now that I think about it it seems like the stoves poops Bryant’s etc all came out of camps with great competition at dt too.
  3. Love the wrestling background. Pretty much exactly what you would come up with if you could design an ideal cfl nose. Love the tackle production too. Strong 2+ tackle per game guy with a ton of Tfl. Not often you see dts putting up games of 9 tackles 2 tfl and sack 1 ff. Or getting. Tfl in 6 straight games. A lot of big time plays in the crunch and a long history of winning. Playing in 4 bowl games in 4 years in college is pretty crazy when you aren’t a top tier school. They seem to find real good players each year from these.
  4. Tda was mostly rough rider fans though let’s be honest. If it had been bc and ott they wouldn’t have had half the people in town. I just don’t see it. Maybe I’m blind to the potential out there but I just don’t see it. With the cfl schedule maker we will always see stupid ass schedules. Could be 2 or 20 teams.
  5. He’s definitely a dual threat guy. Streveler type speed. He also chucked the ball down field a lot so his % isn’t like most west coast passing teams. Didn’t play the best level of competition but high upside guy. Sayles is a good 5 inches taller and 25lbs lighter. If he was 6’3 and 325+ he’d be on an nfl roster. Perfect niche for us.
  6. Obryan Goodson one of the 5 bombers signings today is a stove clone. Shade under 6’ and 300 but an extremely disruptive nose tackle. I’d love to see another one or two brought in but he’s a great pick up.
  7. If put in the right situation I could see it. But if mtl wasn’t enough idk what would aside from here or maybe to. He might set a record for sacks against with that ol. I don’t get the fascination with having an east coast team. 10 teams border to border doesn’t add any thing. But having an expansive team flop in a couple years because they don’t have the owners market size infrastructure etc would be a big blow. Not to mention the possibility of a team playing in a 10-15kish stadium that’s half empty.
  8. No one is going to beat the money or even match it and provide worse production quality. In the past cbc and sports net have carried cfl and you don’t have to go too far back. Plus the score exists. Today, the Olympic and nhl are far more limited in networks than when the cfl was last spread out in terms of rights. It’s a great time to look around at these different networks for competition.
  9. Maybe the single most important person in franchise history. He may be gone but his legend here will never fade and in that way he will out live us all.
  10. No, because we didn’t bring any one in last year. I don’t know how you missed that point.
  11. Situation normal off-season’D up.
  12. If that was the case we wouldn’t be running back with a mostly same roster as three years ago. he was brought in at the end of the year. Clements was quickly and frequently exposed. Yeah I’m not counting Sam as a lber spot, some guys bring extra in the box value but it’s a 4-2 league now. that’s the game though. Could’ve been a whole lot worse. but it’s a big reason why the mafia have to bring in more better quality depth in the front than last year. hopefully he comes back strong and can stay healthy. Love that guy and what he brings. Especially losing kongbo to the nfl we need that guy rotating.
  13. Tre ford being allowed to work out at the buffalo pro day is interesting. I’d really like to see him continue to get groomed here.
  14. Some Canadian kids doing really well at the combine this year. Idk what the record is for Canadian picks but it may well be broken this year
  15. The best part of Regina is you can get out or the city quickly. The best part of Toronto is it’s far away from here.
  16. Maybe two years ago. Not any more. About lber you can. Because we didn’t bring any one in last year.
  17. Would you be comfortable going into camp with kyrie biggie clements and the usual sts guys? Under 25 games between the two this year is a slam dunk. And we have no next man up. You can quantify endlessly. Missing that many games on an Achilles is worrisome. Compare him under those quantifications to wynton mcmanis. Or jsk. Or Avery Williams. Or Thurman etc. you could probably come up with 10 lber pairings that you would expect more out of. Other teams are developing and finding lber gems. Mean while we run out roll players who wouldn’t start for half the league for half our season.
  18. He has some low level sports investment like mjhl already so I could see it. Could be huge for the cfl.
  19. He is and he was the hands down modp in the league until he went down last year. But wrong side of 30 coming off an Achilles only played 18 games once in 5 seasons. Only played more than 7 games once. You need depth at every position to account for injuries. More so at lber. Wilson and biggie are bankable as starters but at this point you need to treat them like an ni starter between both. Have a back up that can take their spot ready in order to start them.
  20. If walker is cheap, by rider standards any way, it’s a good low risk high reward move. He’s not a guy you want to bank on but he’s a good add for camp. Either he sticks and returns some what to form or he pushes and helps train up some rookies and you cut him. That said the riders probably are banking on him and it feels a little reactionary to not getting either of the top 2 wrs available. If I was a fan of theirs I would be concerned that he and td jake are being counted on to start and perform at a high level. I think he would be a good add for a team like bc. Low expectations soft career reset and a chance to out perform expectations for once.
  21. Not nearly as applicable on the grid iron. Especially in the trenches. Don’t see many under sized dominant linemen. The hot take on the defense seems like an attempt at stirring the pot. The type of comment that won’t be remember if we are good but that can be flaunted if our d isn’t. I’m not worried about the secondary. We got more starters than spots. We need a nose / pass rushing dt. Hansen will go a long way to give us the rotation at de again. We do need depth in that role though. last year our lb crop in camp was the most underwhelming we’ve seen in the mafia era. If biggie had gone down instead of kyrie we’d a been totally screwed. As it is he’s dropping off in play. We can’t bank on kyrie and biggie alone. We need a strong batch of lbers to push and be ready as the next man up. we have done a phenomenal job of developing and finding dl. We need one rotational depth pass rusher, a rotational depth lber who can step in and perform at a high level, and an impact dt. De and lber is extremely talent rich in football. I’m not worried.
  22. With a name like that he shouldn’t be hard to beat out for rourke… never believed they were gonna run him as a no2 going into camp. That said he may have a great chance at sticking around on the pr. Better chance than mbt has of getting another nfl look after the usfl season any way.
  23. If any guy in the league makes that move it’s Bailey. Culture and team work are what make up that guy.
