  1. The Wil isn’t going to significantly improve our run defence. It’s the same run fits no matter who is at wil. Though I have no doubt 50% kyrie is a marked improvement at wil. He makes better decisions and reads the plays way better. He isn’t going to put him self out of position and get washed out. Until we have a nose who can be on the field for nearly every run play, we will be gambling on getting dbs to fill gaps. If they start deep, or get pushed off or read the play wrong over run the angle or just get run over we will get gashed. If we keep our dbs back anticipating a pass and get a run we will likely get gashed.
  2. In that case we should use the pr to bring in guys that we can actually use on the roster. We have a ton of spare ol bodies and big guys. I get that. For me, I have tremendous faith in our scouts, and front office to find talent. I have little in our coaching staff to put the best talent on the field. I think our front office, needs to basically give our coaching staff a historically good and deep roster to the point they can’t really mess it up, for our roaster management not to be an issue. I expect a guy on the ar who shouldn’t be here each year. But this year seems like we are carrying tons of bloat on the ar and pr. It’s maddening. We used to use the pr expansion day to trial guys for the next camp, or get started early so they could be over the sophomore slump early. Guys like Bailey come to mind. Now we seem to just shuffle through guys like taman through napkins. We hold a guy for a year, roster him for a few games at the end of a season but give him no reps. Then don’t bring him back for camp, then bring him in part way through then cut him for a rando airlift. Soo many moves like this. Guys like pigrome on our NL for a long time. Then gone for nothing. We won gcs despite some roster management, and game plan issues. Those wins don’t give them the benefit of the doubt from me. When it comes to culture, half time adjustments, etc for sure.
  3. He isn’t quality and we have a waaay better tackle and a better more useful global in Karamoko.
  4. I’m not worried about lber. With kyrie healthy we will be good and relatively deep. Oline we have the guys to make the changes. It’s just a matter of will power to do so.
  5. And machino some how out lasts another proven cfl vet. Not to mention ivy Schmekel and schmitz. The real question is why weren’t more guys cut from the pr lol.
  6. Yeah he’s solid. I like our ni wrs, but I’d take any asset really. A draft pick neg lister w/e. We really could use more depth picks to rebuild the ni back ups. Eli hasn’t taken snaps in game at C this year no. Dobson struggled with the snap in preseason game 1 and did much better in game 2. He’s 85% a guard. If we were gonna move him for good to C I’d want to have most of the year him practice with the first team at C and get a lot of snaps in. I don’t doubt he could pick it up. He’s played a few college games at C but not a lot. Eli, is 90% a centre. He was an elite d1 centre. I wouldn’t have any hesitation on letting him take that job on no reps.
  7. Centre isn’t about locking a man down. It’s about picking up blitzes, stunts, getting the line set, making adjustments, switching off guys and helping the guards with their man. When a nose lines up in the centre, their job isn’t to get to the qb. It’s to either draw a double or push the centre back into the QBs lap. You mess up the QBs release point and throwing lane that way. It’s far more valuable than a pressure. The difference between a nose winning and losing a rep vs a C is the difference of a couple yards. If the C is behind where he started out, that’s a pretty good indication that the C has lost the battle. He would probably be a serviceable guard on a few teams. Though he doesn’t exactly have the mobility for zone run stuff.
  8. I was wondering what the riders might give us for say kola. But I think they’d rather pick the trimmings than give up assets. Mtl I think realizes cf is the problem.
  9. That would make sense, but every year it’s another guy starting at a position they wouldn’t even get to back up on other teams. Difference is this year that those bodies are more familiar and multiple.
  10. Yeah, it’s a big deal having him back. It will allow roadhouse to be more of a run open catch and run guy. He’s good at 50/50 but lawler is the best at it. Same with Sheed. I bet we see a huge difference in average gain on second down, and completion % on passes 15 or deeper.
  11. He was huge here in 21 for making big plays on second down. That 20-25 yard deep out and the shallow sting concept was money.
  12. And they haven’t been the only team to do that to him this year.
  13. 01 bombers won 10 in a row after being 2-2 with back to back losses. But we would pack it in for the last two if we did have a win streak. If we righted the ship I could see 14-4, though one of those games is vs edm so I guess 15 wins is possible lol. again too. Every team should have a buy in each third of the season or with in 6 weeks have a 9/10 day gap week. Large gaps between byes combined with short turn around games 4-5 days between and 3/10ish is a real problem with an 18 game schedule.
  14. The question is will we make those tweaks. Tbh I’m not optimistic.
  15. He leads the league in receiving and WRs don’t sophomore slump in the cfl. They improve in the second year.
  16. Idk. On one hand I don’t see us losing back to back and a home game after such an embarrassing collapse. That said I wouldn’t have seen us with two pathetic loses on the season little on in the first third. It’s either a ton setter for a turn around game or it’s going to be a catastrophic collapse game. I’d be more worried about a trap game if it was in edm and if they had just fired jones. That trap game is more likely to be week 10 imo.
  17. You don’t blanket guys any more. You can’t. Especially with the hash mark move but even before that, the spread offence with 5 targets on this wide field you don’t shut guys down. And in halls system even more so, you play off and then come up to make a play. Be it tackle, knock down, or pick.
  18. Most of the teams don’t know if they can win with their starters, or know they can’t. If we protect collaros he’s still the same mop.
  19. Him less than most, especially due to the fact he had soo few good passes to him. A lot of junk QBs he played with. WRs drop passes, dbs get beat, lbers miss tackles, etc the best of them have a short memory and a great hunger for success.
  20. Yep. Too many vet days off and passes for poor performance. Clearly the room does not hold it self accountable. Other wise we wouldn’t have seen a bc type game after the gc little on the ott collapse after both.
  21. His garbage is still better than the best game of the year for most QBs in this league.
  22. ROFL I’d kind of like to see him go to ott.
  23. When you find as many ways to lose as we did, no lead is safe.
  24. Houston isn’t a problem for sure. And when the secondary sees turn over, has to cover more in the run game and isn’t getting off the field you see what we saw the last couple of games. When BA first went to S in 19 it was a drastic impact on a tremendously talented secondary that had struggled even more so.
  25. I think one change at a time to each problem area would be a good start. I wouldn’t take holm off the active roster currently. If ba doesn’t get back to what he’s done in the past id look at either flipping ni (not ideal) and starting two imp dts jake goes off the active a together, or try swaray/holm at S. I’d bring back one injured db or Mohamed, either Cole at wil or kyrie, a nose on the roster, Eli in at C. Following that if we under perform I’d make another round of changes and cut some vets. Walker has had two really good games in a row. But even if he’s sayles quality right now we need a nose full time. Not a guy in the nose position but a guy who can collapse the C and cancel both A gaps with regularity. he does cal didn’t muck about with guys who don’t perform. I think a veteran getting cut is the message this team needs right now. Nailed it. Though C has been an issue a lot. When teams play a nose or kola has to call out adjustments and blitzes hand off stunts etc he falters.
