  1. Man Darby sure turned to pot last year. As far as NI back up S goes, I think Kelly should be groomed for that role. I love the player that both halletts are when healthy. But Nick is 30, noah is turning 27, both have fought some injury bugs but especially Noah. Much rather kramdi and ford be on D than either hallett.
  2. Rough list of canadians who could/have been starters for us on our roster right now. Kola, neuf, dobson/eli, demski, brady, woli, thomas, lawson, kramdi. If I rank them, I'd have: Brady, Demski, Woli(with in his role), Lawson, Neuf, Dobson/Eli, Kola, Kramdi, Thomas. A few notes. With woli you could get a better wr. But I do not think you could get a guy who plays his role better, or who is a better wr that can play the same role. Similarly Demski and Brady are at the top of their positions league wide. Lawson I think is on the verge of and could this year be the best NI DT in the league. Neuf has been a stalwart on the line for seemingly 100 years. Eli should've already been starting imo, dobson needs to start to improve at this point. Kola is an up jumped 6th ol with out upside. Kramdi is a guy with plenty of up side who could easily leapfrog kola, and could jump dobson if liam doesn't start much this year. Thomas, is burnt toast. Eli, I think could start on a few teams right away, and would. Lawson I think would start on more. NI depth at a cover db spot makes it tougher to start an NI. And I don't think Kramdi fits the role most teams go with. Parker would've hands down been a better sam than kramdi last year imo. Though comparing imp to ni isn't fair or apples to apples. I think ford is a better cover guy than kramdi. But kramdi has a knack for making plays in the box. Kramdi missed as many or more big plays than he made last year. Which is a testament to his ability to read and react, as well as to have the athleticism to get in position to make a big play. But is also a knock on his consistent ability to make the play or make the right play. As far as the last NI starter with an at worst comparable guy to platoon with, that is a damn good position to be in. He's 27 this season, with 3 years under his belt. He's gotten better each year, and should do the same this year. If he does take that step forward, he's going to leave us in an excellent position. If he doesn't, he's still a good roster guy in his prime with Ford just a year younger than him. Personally, I'd rather start an ni sam than an ni S. I don't think he, or much of any one else should have a spot guaranteed. More guys probably have one than I'd like. But I think if Ford blows his doors off in camp that Ford will start and Kramdi will back up.
  3. I'm guessing it takes about 8 years on RF. After that it probably seems like a great idea to use ai to post on here.
  4. There were some fluff pieces about him as the architect of the argos championship team that made it seem like he was being poised for yet another front office return to the league. The cancerous nature of the argos might be killing it, and that might be what he is railing against.
  5. willarguewithanyoneaboutanything.gif A broke clock is right twice a day. Which is 2 times a day more often than people who make being antithetical their entire personality.
  6. can't wait to see him there, hope the weather ends up good.
  7. Which is a fine role for him. He may take a step forward and become a more consistent piece and if he does that is great. Though we seem to be paying him as if he was that now, our 2nd highest db. 140/154 for nichols and 125/139 for kramdi is shocking. 86k base with a 25k signing bonus is no joke. It's odd, because we are generally pretty stingy with DBs. If Kramdi rotates with Ford (which I think is what every one expects, at an unknown ratio of snaps) we are probably looking at a minimum of 225k between the two. DB is strange up here. Kind of like RB, but players get to cash in and stick around long after their peak. Half of the top paid DBs seem like guys who are past it and getting paid on previous accolades or got by more with reputation than quality of play. I'd much rather Kramdi see rotation than either Hallett at this point.
  8. 100%. Surprise surprise though it's defending debauchery by the argos. He may not get canned right away, but I think this is gonna lead to the end of his career up here. Argos gonna argo
  9. I believe he is still working on a masters degree in engineering at the U of M and has a research tech gig at the U too. probably doesn't want to leave that unless its deep into his chosen field of engineering. Been a long list of those guys, always seems to be on D too. Kramdi isn't the worst one either. Actually Jake might be the worst one right now.
  10. I think wallace should be ready for 7th man ol duties and 6th if some one gets hurt. I suspect they are pretty high on Kalra too. Imo, Kola should be the 6th ol, but we are far from bad shape for NI depth. Plus, Gray could well come back if needed. I don't think another teams TC cut NI ol would be much better, and certainly not more familiar. Agree with all of this.
  11. Yeah. Seems like he is going to be "that" canadian starter this year.
  12. https://3downnation.com/2024/05/13/tsn-panellist-ex-gm-jim-barker-says-cfl-staffers-should-be-fined-for-criticizing-argos-handling-of-chad-kelly/ Barker is more likely to get fired for these comments then those two ladies are to be fined. Wow what a tone deaf dolt.
  13. I'm not too concerned about our NI depth, TC and pre season will show us a lot of what we can expect and how things will shake down. A good NA piece on offence would be clutch. Kramdi is a surprise, I don't think any one else would've given him that money. Lawson I'm fine with he should be our starter and play the most reps of any of our DTs. Roster management lol. We really better not be going in that direction. Thomas does not have much left in the tank, and I can't imagine his body is up to major reps.
  14. Mos said in an interview with bauming that he was hurt and wasn't able to rehab on time. And that they give him a day then he is off to rehab. Might spend some time with the teams trainers. He was high on bennett, but also didn't seem sold on guys coming back any time soon.
  15. I wouldn't look too much into the guys who "started" first day of TC. Between injuries and departures it's all about continuity. So they plug in the guys with the most experience while rookies learn. Up to the first pre season game we will see lots of guys cycled through and guys will get a chance to pick it up and play more.
  16. Thanks for the break down. Is BA hurt still/again?
  17. Brady and demski don’t need camp at this point. If it does look like he will miss a couple weeks we probably bring in 2 more rbs. Both brown and smith are kr type bodies. If Ike gets up here sooner rather than later that’d be great.
  18. For sure, the exact perfect move for the draft. Historically, Walter’s and the Mafia have done real well with value in the 2nd round. This might end up being our best 2nd round class.
  19. I think manu will be down south all this year and next nfl tc. But I mean one injury even fairly minor could end all that quickly. Ike has the size and athleticism to kick around down south if he shines but I think he will be back for the last pre season game. Keven’s I think will shine in a limited role. It’s hard to imagine him not being successful as a role player here this year if he’s healthy. Wallace I think will make a big push to be the 6th ol. Which will really put pressure on kola from Eli. Samson is real interesting, likely sits on the pr unless Jake gets hurt. But he could be a real good one. Think he’s got a good future behind Lawson. Laroux is almost a shoe in to be a good LS in the future. Gotta love that value and consistency at ls. I don’t see much more than a lotto tickets chance for the rest of the guys other than gassama. He might not hold up long, but I think he can play in the cfl. He’s tough and shifty. Low key plan B for kr could be ford and gassama. If that all pans out it’s really strong value and all right where we need it. It’s sure looking like another mafia bumper crop draft.
  20. Yep it’s a race for those vets to beat out guys who aren’t getting nfl camp invites and then nfl cuts. Those guys should be on team friendly deals now. 100%. JJ was great at getting pressure with out giving up his run gap. If any thing a heavier tweener end who is a beast vs the run, maybe screen and in qb contain while being decent at bull rushing on pure pass plays would do well for us. Waggoner I think has a real inside track to start for us in that role while one or more of habba rivers etc rotate. Willy Lawson and fox together could make up the loss of a pressure off the edge as well. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more of the lighter dts who can play outside (like sayles) brought in mid camp as well.
  21. I totally understand what they were going for. Hoping he could improve a bit and contribute situationally. Is what it is. Excited as hell about this draft class though. Just ike and manu not in camp.
  22. I think he’s in the same spot as grant and Jj. He probably wants top dollar and not to be on a crap team but the good teams that could use him won’t start him or pay him big bucks. Shame indeed. I’d love him back.
  23. Feel like we will be in the market for more DEs right now. 6 ends vs 9 dts. Pretty happy with our off season ol work. Didn’t think Wallace would be in camp thought he’d get an nfl look. I expect a lot out of Vanterpool and Coleman. I would not be surprised if one is the starter to replace Hardrick. Keith is a good talent too, and while I’m not a fan of Lofton atleast he does bring experience and is very far from a default pick at rt. I wonder if we add another K now as well
  24. Tbh I never saw the motor from him that you need to succeed at end, especially here. Guys who lack that don’t improve skills or put in the work to change their physique. The first time you do it is pretty easy and the benefits are great, idk if he’d done it in the past but it didn’t seem like it. bad player from bad draft cut in 2nd camp we’ve been here before. I’m excited to see our current guys and new picks.
